Love this place. We have gone here over and over again, and they continue to impress. Their plants don’t just survive, they thrive and look beautiful year after year. We redid our entire front of the house and spent hours at Walton’s working with staff trying to figure out which plants would work well with the available light and location. They helped us select awesome options. In fact, it has become our go-to place. Sure, prices are a bit more. However, you get what you pay for. If you want something that will die in a year, go elsewhere. If you want a very knowledgable staff and quality products, look no further!

This place is a beautiful haven for plant lovers. I am so in love with this place. First of all… it is 100% ORGANIC. They don’t even sell the synthetics or the poison crap which is a hugely important for me and makes me even more eager to support them. Walton’s has everything … plenty of flowers… passion flowers, lantannas galore, plenty of trees, pomegranates, kaffir lime trees, eucalyptus trees, succulents, gargoyles, water fountains, tropical plants, and their late summer/early fall sale is amazing! We got a kaffir lime tree and navel orange tree for 50% off yesterday!!! We also got some artichoke baby plants, hyacinth bean and some gorgeous thyme that resembles moss. They have plenty of food also… earlier this year we got a trinidad scorpion plant. They have whatever’s seasonal, tomatoes, okra, cabbage, broccoli… in addition they have awesome tropical decorative plants… some that look like sting rays !!! Too cool. I have so much fun here, it’s impossible to be upset at this amazingly beautiful nursery !

Warning — Waltons do not guarantee the plants they sell you will live. I bought 3 Azalea plants from them 3 weeks ago and unfortunately they did not take and dried up. My advice is go to Home Depot — better range, lower prices and they ALWAYSGUARANTEETHEPLANTSTHEYSELLYOUFOR6 months.

So, another reviewer expected to have a plant replaced because she didn’t plant the plant and it died. Really? Walton’s didn’t kill her mother… So, how was that their responsibility? Sure, you might be able to talk a national chain employee into refunding your money. The employee doesn’t feel personally implicated in anything so they just hand over the money… They also don’t give you customer service and likely(Sometimes there’s an exception, but good luck finding that one exception) don’t now diddly about anything to do with plants. I live near Walton’s and like having the option of shopping there. I do also shop at Home Depot/Lowes when I don’t need any kind of expertise, because they’re cheaper… I usually have a good shopping experience at Walton’s and I certainly cannot say the same for the garden section with the national retailers. Btw-Walton’s has a great selection of pots… I was just checking their hours because I saw a banner indicating they were having a 50% off pot sale, when I saw that ridiculous review and couldn’t restrain myself. ;-)

My favorite garden center by far! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I also like the fact that it feels like a real garden with gravel pathways winding through the trees and not built on a concrete foundation like so many other places.

A couple of months ago, we went to Walton’s to buy some plants. Let’s be honest… I was replacing some plants that I killed. Walton’s has a great variety, but as others have mentioned is expensive. I went to North Haven a couple of weeks prior, and I think Walton’s has better selection and quality with comparable prices. I also really liked the staff. They seemed like they truly cared about plants, not just selling things or making money. It feels like a labor of love for them, which is nice. Out of respect for their hard work, I feel more inspired to do everything I can not to kill the plants I bought.

Wow, I cannot believe that I have lived in East Dallas for more than 20 years and only found this place today. Sometimes I surprise myself by how out of touch I am. This place is nothing short of phenomenal. Maybe even better than North Haven, which has been our favorite for years. It has everything – absolutely great selection of plants, statutes, planters, gift shop, and the staff is very knowledgeable. The layout is extremely attractive. I am now a fan and a customer, and considering how much closer to our home than NH, I think I may be a regular from here on.

They have tons of odd things here. We just looked around on this visit. The items I looked at seemed pretty pricey but at the same time, I don’t know how much a tree or whatever is worth. What am I, a tree dealer? No, not yet at least.

This Garden Center is one of my Favorites! I can always find the most unusual plants /flowers /trees /fruits & veggie plants here. Walston’s also carries the most beautiful planters, fountains, outdoor art, garden tools, etc. Inside the building, they carry handmade frames, wall art, cards, all kinds of bird feeders, bird seed, outdoor rugs & much more. The staff is always very friendly & very willing to help. I usually have lots of questions. Walton’s is not cheap… you can find cheaper prices. I just really like the variety & the quality of the product I buy @ Walton’s. Walton’s lives right across the street from the Dallas Arboretum. Can’t wait till Spring!

I telephoned Walton’s to check stock and prices on fountain urns. I had the misfortune of speaking with the owner, Chuck. He was impatient, unhelpful and genuinely rude. He made no attempt to solicit my business or develop a customer relationship with me. I honestly don’t know how merchants like Chuck stay in business in this competitive environment. I would not purchase anything from Walton’s Garden Center if they were the last merchant on earth.

I purchased 2 strawberry plants, some seeds and soil a couple weeks ago. Before I got a chance to plant the strawberries my mother unexpectedly passed away and I had to fly to St. Louis for a week. When I came back one of the plants was obviously dead. I thought surely under the circumstances they will exchange this plant for me so I went in yesterday and spoke with the not so nice employee who informed me that Mr. Walton does not exchange, return or guarantee any of his products. I even told her that my mom passed away and that’s the reason why I wasn’t able to plant them in time. Still she showed no compassion and zero customer service. I have lived in this area for over 20 years and I love mom and pop shops but I will NEVER shop here again after this experience. You really want to lose a customer over $ 10? I don’t get it. Also I find this pretty interesting. I keep posting my review on their facebook page and the owner keeps removing it instead of addressing the issue. If this is how you resolve customer issues shame on you!

Oh Walton’s how I wanted to love you… but when I went in here I felt a cold air from the employee and a lack of overall inspiration. The prices also seemed quite high… perhaps I found myself there on a off day? I’ll try it again and see… *sigh*

This is my favorite nursery. Their customer service is off the charts. All of their employees are well versed in their products, and they make a point to really help you plan your flower beds and gardens. For instance, we have a tough spot in our front yard that gets blistering heat in the summer, and almost no light in the winter. They got us started on some nice varieties that have done well. Then, after the huge freeze and 12 inch snow last year, we were out there trying to salvage our stuff, and the employees helped us know what to cut back, dig up, or «wait and see.» We followed their advice and our yard has completely recovered, without a huge replanting. They are more expensive than your run of the mill Home Depot or Lowe’s but you’re paying for their experience. I can’t say that we buy all of our annuals there, but if you’re looking for a plant that you want to keep in your yard year after year, I would highly recommend going to Walton’s, getting a quality item, and benefitting from their advice. Also, if you have an arboretum membership you get a discount!

Driving down Garland Road on our way to Richardson Bike Mart, I noticed a big, artsy looking garden center that looked intriguing… lots of neat looking containers and good looking flowers. We swung in for a looksie. I must be domestic or something because I thought this place is actually really cool. It’s more garden-y with lots more plants, yard art and fountains but no patio furniture. I’m cool with that. There were lots of über-modern water features and many artsy, ornamental trees to check out. There was a small building that held all of their bird supplies like houses and feeders. I even found one that looked like an acorn that I now can’t live without and will be back to buy soon. We wandered around for awhile outside and a man came up to ask if we needed help(yes, we usually do). I asked him what to do about the critters eating my new baby strawberries. He said we needed to get some fox urine. Fox urine?!? My mind raced. I had no idea how I was going to catch, harvest, or get a fox to pee in a cup so I could save my garden. Come to find out, you can actually BUY fox pee at such a place as Walton’s. Whattheheck?! So we bought some and I’ll be sprinklin’ some pee soon. I’ll keep you posted on the strawberries. All in all, they had the best selection of peppers and tomatoes I’ve found… and their marigolds looked 10x better than the flat we’d just bought at Rubial’s. Of course. The folks were the most helpful I’ve found and also the most witty. They were real big smart asses, which is a plus in my book. We had a fun time laughing about fox pee and the trials and tribulations of «dumb and dumber buy a house and plant a garden and the neighborhood varmints get fat». I’ll definitely be back.
