Vertigo 12

I moved downtown almost two years ago but continued going to the salon that I had gone to for years. Today I decided that I would try some place downtown and support Downtown. On short notice, I was able to get an appointment with Veronica. She was great. I love my haircut and certainly glad I decided to give Vertigo 12 a try.

This place is definitely an awesome place to be. Everything here is so cool and unique. I’ve never been in a salon that has great décor, vibrant colors, and cool vinyls playing! On top of that, there’s free beer and a vintage arcade! :-) It’s nothing like the typical salon.
My appointment was with Krystal for chocolate brown balayage highlights! The outcome was amazing and perfect, exactly what I was looking for! Everyone here is pretty amazing too. Both Nolan and Hoyt always made sure and checked in to see if I needed anything when the color was processing. Felt BEAUTIFUL when all was done. I’m definitely coming back!

Karla did my hair between two sessions, and Nolan was also there to give her a hand since both sessions were lengthy in time. They really take the time toward detail in what they’re doing and making you feel comfortable. I went from dark brown to very light blonde and no damage on my hair. I love the ambiance of the salon and the personalities of those who work there. And they gave me beer while I was there Also I was able to take my car to The Joule and they valet my car!

Nolan immediately helped me figure out what had gone wrong with my last haircut (elsewhere) and made me look good! Visit them on the 12^th floor of Alto 211!

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Vertigo12 since it opened (and with Nolan before in his previous salon endeavors). Everything about Vertigo12 is cool, hip and very welcoming to their clients. Everyone I’ve spoken with in the salon is friendly and knowledgeable. The products they carry have been some of the best I’ve used (hair gel/​paste/​etc and shampoos) but still at a very reasonable price.
In fact, that’s a great way to describe the salon as a whole, great products and services at a very affordable price.
Don’t let the brief elevator ride up to the 12^th floor deter you from giving them a try. Most seats have a good view out the 12^th floor windows out at the eastern side of downtown and east Dallas.

I’ve been going to Vertigo 12 before it was Vertigo 12! The staff is absolutely amazing, not just in doing hair, but just amazing as people! I found Veronica almost 1 ½ years ago before they moved to their new location while at a 5 week training course in Dallas. Being a flight attendant I was able to work some magic and fly… YES FLY… to see her between the time I was done with training and finally moved into the Dallas area! I’ve also had my hair cut by Hoyt on mulitple occasions. Both are phenominal and I recommend all of my friends to go see them especially if they have short Pixie hair like me! They truly listen to what you’re wanting, give you honest feedback if they feel it just won’t work and make you walk out feeling amazing every time! The salon is fun, upbeat and funky and you are greeted with a smile every time you walk through the door! and most of all I love that I’ve become friends with everyone in the salon… they make it easy and of course i’m there every 4 weeks! Just call! You won’t be disappointed!

I travel frequently for work and have my fair share of sub-​par haircuts. Nolan took fantastic care of me and I am very pleased with my hair!
I called the day of and they were able to fit me in. I brought in a photo of what I wanted and Nolan explained to me how he was going to cut my hair as to allow my hair to grow into the style I desired. He was extremely thorough with his cutting and trimming. It was a work of art!
The products they use to wash your hair have wonderful aromas and I was even given a delightful neck/​scalp massage. I felt like I was being given a real salon treatment.
After Nolan finished cutting my hair he showed me how to style my hair so I could do it myself, specifying which products and tools to use.
Excellent salon with highly trained, very friendly staff of professionals. And at an affordable price! I would highly recommend Vertigo 12!

I got a haircut while working a job in Dallas and I really lucked out with this place. I decided on a whim I wanted bangs and Hoyt listened AND HEARD my concerns about having thinning hair and what the best option would be as far as producing the most voluminous look possible. She gave me beaucoup tips on how to style my own hair once I got home and never once did I feel intimidated or overwhelmed. The space is very laid back and the entire staff is friendly.
I met my coworkers for dinner afterward and they didn’t even recognise me! The entire rest of the trip I was basking in their compliments on how pretty I looked with my new haircut. Thanks Hoyt!
Now I have a great place to get a hair cut on my annual dallas work trip!

I started coming here a few months ago after a sudden break-​up with my former barber. A friend of mine shared that they were running a special for all newlyweds after the Supreme Court marriage ruling. And, my friend’s hair always looks fresh and stylish. So, I decided to check it out.
Nolan (owner) has been cutting my hair ever since. The salon has a cool vibe, music pumping, a free video arcade game and offers a variety of comp beverages to pass the time. Plus, good views of downtown.
I get totally unsolicited compliments on my haircut all the time, which I think is the best testament to a good stylist.
This place is always doing stuff to give back to the community too (e.g., free cuts for vets & mil spouses on Veterans Day).
Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re in the downtown or surrounding area.

Not only are they pros, these guys have heart and great energy. I called for a last minute hair color and brow wax appointment and got a text confirmation as soon as I got off the phone. Veronica gave me exactly what I asked for: color and gloss with no stain on my ears or forehead. Hoyt asked me to check the brows after the wax and before finishing with a trim. They checked in with each other to help me get out in 2 hours in time to catch my flight. I learned a lot about the downtown community, which Veronica really cares and knows a lot about. And she introduced me to Lyft, which I ended up using to get to the airport. Exceeded expectations. What a great way to end my quick Dallas trip.

I’m SO thankful I heard about this amazing salon right when I needed it! Hoyt did an incredible color correction on me after I had a bad experience somewhere else. She is incredibly talented and also a pleasure to hang out with while you’re getting your hair done. Highly recommend! Other notable perks: free valet parking, enjoy a brewski while you get your hair done, fantastic view from the 12^th floor, «after» photos in the photo booth, and super pro service all around!

I LOVE Vertigo12 for so many reasons. From the moment you walk through the doors, you fall in love with the hip and stylish décor, then you are greeted by a friendly face and offered a beer. As you walk to your stylist’s chair, you can’t help but notice you have access to some of the best views downtown has to offer. The entire staff operates like a family and their customers are treated with respect and dignity. It’s a drama-​free zone and a great place to relax and be transported to wherever you want to go while a qualified stylist makes you look like a million bucks!

This Salon ROCKS!!! I was able to book a last minute appointment with ease. Veronica gave me a lovely blowout for Friday night! She is super cool and very knowledgeable as to my questions regarding hair color changes. The Owner, Nolan is a awesome dude with eclectic taste for gorgeous design and a wonderful atmosphere! Hoyt topped my visit off with a welcome beverage and generous hospitality. I will certainly return in the future!

This place is amazing. I came here a few months ago after my hair had gone super brassy and Hoyt did such an amazing job color correcting my hair! The level of customer service is great. I would trust them to do anything to my hair. The hair cuts I have gotten too are fantastic. I would tell any and everyone to come here and check them out! You won’t regret it!

First of all this place is way cool. They are located on the 12^th floor of an office building in downtown Dallas. I wasn’t sure where to park, but luckily there are meters right in front. Not too many so I’m not sure if the spaces fill up during peak times or not.
I found this salon from a friends check in on FB and her hair is always cute. I went online and booked an appointment with Veronica. She’s a cute rockabilly chick that knows just about everyone I know in Deep Ellum/​Dallas and then some. It was fun chatting with her.
I got full highlights and a cut, all the while sitting with the nice view of the downtown from her station. The color turned out great and the cut too.
The music was great, service friendly and free PBR to boot. I’m definitely a fan.

A truly excellent Salon that is conveinent to downtown. Great customer service and a core team that has been together a long time. Glad you guys are back at it!

This was my first Vertigo 12 experience but it was by far the most amazing hair cut of my life. My previous hair stylist told me my hairline was slowing escaping from my face but Hoyt assured me it was perfect and made me feel comfortable about my manhood. I highly recommended Hoyt for all your fresh-​fade needs. Also try the free fruity hipster beer.

I have the worst anxiety about getting my hair cut — thanks to one bad childhood experience. BUT, Hoyt always makes me feel so comfortable! I’ve never been able to just walk into a salon and be like «You know — I kinda want it longish here and shortish here with a thingy on the side» and Hoyt? Hoyt gets me. #TeamHoyt

Went in for a cut and had a few questions about what would look best. My hair is super thin and so Victoria took the time to talk to me about what styles would look good and what she wouldn’t recommend for me. I appreciated that she was straightforward and ended up with a cut I like and a color that’s netted me a dozen compliments. Sold.

Great service with awesome views from the 12^th floor. Everyone is nice and very accommodating. I go to Hoyt. She pays close attention to detail and always is consistent in my cut. Try this salon. You will not be dissatisfied.
