My boyfriend found this company online. They have a nice website and a catchy name. The website even resembles Twitter, the social networking service. He was quoted $ 85 for a deep cleaning for a 1100 sf 2 bdrm apt, which included cleaning windows, baseboards, ceiling fans, etc. He asked for a basic cleaning and was quoted $ 70. He informed the owner that it was more than we wanted to pay since we had seen several companies advertising in our community for considerably less. After discussing further, they agreed on $ 60 for a basic cleaning. This would include cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen, mopping floors, vacuuming, dusting, etc. The appointment was scheduled for 2pm. They arrived on time(the concierge called to notify us of their arrival.) My boyfriend came home at 4:30pm and they were still there. There were 2 ladies and 2 small children, that were coughing and sniffling in the apt. One of the ladies, which we later discovered was the owner of the company, apologized for having the children there. My boyfriend said it was okay(although, we wished they had notified us in advance.) He noticed the floor hadn’t been vacuumed yet. He went downstairs to get the mail. When he returned, they were gone. The apartment looked as though someone came in for 15 minutes and quickly went over it. There were 2 areas where it appeared as though a vacuum had been rolled over it. There were rag marks where they quickly wiped around pictures and decorative items. We could see where they quickly wiped around the bathroom faucet –with splashes of toothpaste still on the faucet and in the sink. The bottom of the shower hadn’t been touched — the shower floor was still dry. Needless to say, we were very dissatisfied with the work and very curious wondering what they did for 2.5 hours?!? I called Twitter at 10am the following day. I apparently awakened the lady on the phone. I informed her of our findings and explained the things that weren’t completed, as per our agreement. She allowed me to go through the entire story and then stated that she was the owner and she was 1 of the 2 women cleaning. When she informed me of this, I then mentioned that the 2 sick children. I told her I wish they had informed us in advance or rescheduled for liability purposes. She said my boyfriend said it was okay. What was he supposed to do… kick them out? She stated that we asked for a basic cleaning and she felt the job was satisfactory. She then stated that she would be happy to return but she didn’t see the point since we weren’t going to use them again anyway. I told her that we would appreciate that, however she never called back to complete the job. Had she been more professional and actually returned to finish the work properly, we would have used them again. That same week, we met a sweet professional cleaning lady leaving another apartment in our building. She does a great job and charges $ 60 for a 2 bdrm apt. If anyone wants a referral let me know.
