I will not be back during a DFW layover. I ordered cheddar cheese fries and the peanut butter brownie shake(~ $ 11 total). The cheese fries weren’t that flavorful — should add garlic powder at least. The brownie in the shake tasted old. There are many(mostly mediocre) options in this terminal and even McDonald fries and McFlurry would have been better — and I haven’t chosen McDonald’s in more years than I can remember. They were quick, though, and there are funny bumper stickers all over the walls as well as a few TVs.

Good burger. S_itty customer service and delivery. Grabbed Berger to go and when on board my plane — learned they left out the top bun. Really?

I ordered the veggie burger and it completely fell apart. and the person who takes your order doesn’t listen to a thing you are saying. I ordered the spicy goat but with a veggie patty… I received a completely different burger. when I stated to the person who gives you your order I said it was wrong and instead of remaking the burger she wiped off what was wrong and re added the spicy goat ingredients??? What really? LAZY and CHEAP. I also ordered the onion rings… it looked and tasted like a pile of mushy onions with some that were coated and some that weren’t…I threw away everything after 2 bites… save your money and your appetite and go somewhere else in the airport. Also a customer in front of me offered the cashier a tip? And at first the cashier said no we don’t take tips… but the guy was like but I wanted to give you one(I am sure his order was correct) so she says again really quietly… we don’t take tips but I’ll take the dollar from you… and shoves it directly into her pocket… tacky…

Be careful of the buffalo burger, there is a big sign above the cashier asking if you have tried buffalo. However they don’t list the price. Cashier made me feel stupid like as if I was suppose to know that this burger cost more than regular. Nothing on the menu states if a burger is from a cow or a buffalo… I thought this burger joint was all about the buffalo, very confusing. I asked the server or cashier about he burger pricing and he acknowledge that buffalo burger price is not on the menu. I tried it, lots of seasoning and I couldn’t really tell it apart from other burger patties. I ordered the buffalo burger ranch hand and straight cut fries… food came out fairly quick, fries fresh from the fryer. The bacon was sitting somewhere in the kitchen and it was almost room temp compared to the burger patty and melted cheese. Bacon is very important to me and I need it as fresh as my fries. Food was good, but that incident with the cashier really took a star from my experience. Management/owners should clearly state the price of their product.

The root beer was good. After that my lunch at Twisted Root Burger was a dud. I ordered the Kevin Bacon(A Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger). The food was served quickly but it was nothing special. The burger was way over cooked. I realize you can’t do medium per your staff but it doesn’t have to taste like a hockey puck. The bacon was cold and the blue cheese was fresh from the cooler as well. So I had a hot burger with ice cold bacon and unmelted cheese, then the fries were old and not crisp

Wanted do thing better than Mcdonald. Well, it’s better than McDonald’s but not by much! The bacon was good, but the patty was bland and on the dry side. If subway were closer I would have gone there, but good alternative to McDonald’s.

Cool restaurant in terminal A. I had the Vegabond veggie burger with a side of cheddar fries. The burger was good but totally fell apart after the first bite. The fries were terribly soggy. They had some great BBQ sauce and chipotle ketchup to spice up the burger and fries. I would eat here again, but skip the soggy fries.

Amazingly enough I have not been here before. I travel through DFW often but somehow I have not been near this location in Terminal A until today. There is a significant effort to upgrade the food options at DFW … Lead by the renovations at Terminal A. Twisted Root opened a branch here in November the guy at the counter told me. So what to expect? Burgers are ½ pound and loaded. I watched a couple leave before me because they said the burgers were too big. There are numerous options but according to the staff the Western and All American are the two most popular … But I guess you could expect that in Texas. I went for the Western … A very nice and beefy patty with raw onions, onion strings, Jack cheese and jalapeño. I added some hot mustard and barbecue sauce at various points. The burger tasted good, but they put too much lettuce on it. Overall though very solid. Fries were fresh cut … But not cooked to the point of having a crisp. The temperature of the oil is the culprit here. Too bad … I ordered a water(in case my wife reads this) … But they gave me a Hershey’s shake. Vanilla custard swirled with Hershey’s syrup … YUM!!! Very clean atmosphere and service was great … Burger — 3.75 stars Fries — 2 stars Shake — 5 stars Cleanliness and Service — 4 stars Overall — 4 stars. Definitely an option at DFW.

Twisted Root Burger for breakfast?! Uhh, yeah! Got a burger, my gate changed and I am probably going to miss my flight — doesn’t matter. This burger is everything. In-house sauces, turkey or beef patty, real food and no fillers. The staff was very awesome and helped deliver the Twister Root experience — forgot I was even in an airport. Will be here for every flight!

Pretty chill and fun atmosphere. Love the name call outs. I have Rollergirl. The facts and deco are pretty sweet. Only downer is they dont do combos. Pretty embarrassed when asked the cashier about it after asking for a med combo. Didnt correct me at all. It’ll be nice to be notified ahead of time than looking like a damn fool. Ill geta side and drink somewhere. Just came for the burger. Deciding to come back or not, well prepared. Burger is delicious btw. Had the American.

I love how I can be at the airport and still experience food from a local(ish) establishment. Located in Terminal A, it was a good balance because it wasn’t a full down down restaurant(who has time for that!) and it wasn’t too crowded(elbow room please) and it wasn’t quite a fast food restaurant(MickyDs is everywhere). Stand in line to order food, sit down, and your name gets hollered out after a few minutes. Being that I don’t eat burgers, i still had lots of options because I was able to substitute with their veggie patty. Which. Was. Delicious. Good amount of char even though the patty didn’t quite stick together well. I had the BIGTEX and loved the mound of fried onion rings and the chipotle sauce that gave it a good kick. Solid.

‘I Twis-ted Root, and I like it – the taste of pick-les-a-tomic!’ I managed to arrive in between waves of passengers and ordered a Big Texas with fries. I was asked to draw a name. Got ‘Chris Tucker’ the name used to call me when my order was ready. I told her now I have to be all rude and all. She laughed. While waiting for my order, I sampled the 4 types of pickles – from dill, bread and butter, sweet and spicy, but my fave was atomic. Soon, I was killing the pickles! The burger was acceptable having shrunk a lot from being cooked to well done. The guacamole was viscous and decadent without any of the usual distracting acids often added to prevent oxidation. The onion ring strings were crisp the cheddar cheese was dry and baked on, further suggesting that my burger was a but tired. The bun was fluffy and well grilled. The fries were awesome. Crispy, hot and fluffy inside. Salted just right, they were a delight eaten with Chipotle Ketchup. In all, a strong performance at reasonable prices for a busy airport terminal.

Oh my, what a wonderful burger experience!!! Stopped in on my way to San Diego and glad I did. Don’t remember when I’ve ever enjoyed a burger that much. Was it the pickle bar that allowed me to take so many pickles that I had one on every bite? Was it the fact that the burger was full fat and not the lean stuff my wife buys? Or was it the challenge to down it all before my row filled up? Not sure, but whatever it was I’m still thinking about how much I enjoyed it to this day. Had the burger with mushrooms, added lettuce, tomatoes and onions and made pretty much a good olé fashioned burger. Their pickle bar is special, with many great flavors to choose from. My favorite were the sweet pickles, just like my grandmother would make them. Stop in on your way out of town for an awesome treat.

Had a really quick layover in DFW and was on the hunt for something delicious. Twisted Root was near my gate, so I hopped in to grab a burger to go. While waiting for my burger, I noticed the bar had outlets. I am *always* on the hunt for outlets in an airport, so it was really convenient to sit at the bar while waiting. Despite the quick layover, I was having a miserable travel experience so I decided to also chug a beer. Staff was friendly and available. There was a man refilling the pickle tubs who was quite talkative and we had a lovely conversation about pickles. I accidentally left my credit card on the bar on my way out and the bartender ran out to grab me before I got too far. I didn’t eat my burger until I got on the plane, but it was delicious. I can’t recall what it was called, but it had green chiles and pepperjack and guacamole. The burger was juicy, cooked well, and had great flavor. Fries were also good, and I absolutely loved the homemade ketchups and the ATOMIC pickles. The prices were a little high, but it’s an airport. And it’s my pet peeve when you have to pay for your fries separately from the burger, but that seems to just be a thing that’s happening now. TL;DR: Good burgers, friendly staff, eat here.

One of the better places to grab a burger at DFW. This one is at Terminal A. They give you a nickname so that you know when to get your food. A buck or two more expensive than the Twisted Root locations that’s not at an airport named DFW. And items are bit limited than those places, but hey, it’s the airport. The burger patties are cooked to order so there’s that freshness factor.

Not bad at all. I got the turkey lots a shrooms burger since I gave up red meat for Lent. I was a little skeptical but it was delicious. It had a bunch of good mushrooms smothered in dry aged Swiss cheese. Very good. I accompanied it with the onion rings. They were like shredded fried onions but were good. They also have a cool pickle selection set up in small barrels for everyone to help themselves to. I liked the regular dill and bread and butter pickles but the hot pickles didn’t to anything for me. Stop by when traveling out of DFW. Friendly staff and priced as you’d expect for an airport. I liked it.

Funny and fun place! They call you by a nick name like«wreck it ralph» or «dirty Harry». Made for an interesting experience. Ordered cheese fries which were too salty and oily. They tasted as if the fries were triple fried or either left out way too long absorbing the oil. Some of the fries were limp! I was hesitant to order a burger since someone mentioned that it was a standard«Sysco» type burger. Also had the strawberry ice cream shake. It was way too thick and I saw the poor lady stirring it with a spoon because it didn’t look like they had an ice cream/drink mixer. Other than that, service was great. The restaurant has ample seating and they even have a small bar area that overlooks the runway of the airport — pretty cool place to have a drink and watch planes land and/or take off!

Rolling through terminal A and saw this place. Customer service was outstanding, to include helping me decide what to eat. The Freshman burger was incredible. Meat, fries… Egg! Quincy’s Grandpa’s secret BBQ sauce took it to the top of of my favorite Burger list! I would have taken a photo, but it was gone before I knew it.

We really wish we would have got a chance to eat here but we just tried the milkshakes because we heard they were really good there. It turns out Guy was here and he ate two burgers so that must mean there are good! Great fun place too!!!
