I’ve been a patient of this practice for 24 yrs; since 1999 it has been under the care if Rebecca Ponder OD. Dr. Ponder is so caring, compassionate & skilled. I try to go around November each year as a way to remember how thankful I am for the gift of sight.

i found Dr. Ponder after a bad experience with another local eye doctor in uptown. She is detailed and very engaging as well as honest with what I can do to help my own eye health. She is always attentive to my questions and very analytical and professional. I’ve been going here about five years. She has improved her staff over the years and I have noticed they have become much more friendly and engaging since when I started seeing her in 2011. If I had written this review back then it would be less stars, but she deserves credit for improvement in her staff and facility. I got to witness her staff handle a very difficult customer and the did a great job.

While Dr. Ponder was very professional and knowledgeable, there were a few parts of the exam that really brought it down for me. During the preliminary testing, they were missing the dreaded eye puff exam. While that’s a positive thing, I wish I had known so I didn’t blink the entire time(she finally told me after I asked) in anticipation. Being a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Ponder uses a different test that is more accurate. The biggest thing was that I was not informed when my eyes would be dilated. Her own glaucoma test included eye drops that numb your eyes so she can touch a probe to it. After this exam she told me she would be putting more drops in my eyes. These in turns were the ones that caused my eyes to be dilated without warning, keeping me from being able to drive to work later that day. Had I known, I would have requested to skip it instead of having to take half of a day off from work. Halfway through the exam she also asked if I wanted to choose my frames. For me, that’s a process that takes hours of deliberation and I wasn’t planning on picking until after I received my prescription. Was not a fan of being pushed to buy glasses on the spot and had to request finishing the exam first.

Dr. Ponder and her staff are professional and kind. She has been my eye Dr. since 2006 and I am completely satisfied with the care I have received. I highly recommend Turtle Creek Eye Associates.

Dr. Ponder is the most thorough and courteous doctor I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is very helpful and will take whatever time you need to get the right fit in contacts or glasses. Additionally, her technician is super nice and also most helpful and works hard to make sure you are satisfied with their services. They recently moved into new offices which are first class. I would recommend Turtle Creek Eye Associates to anyone, you will be happy with this eye doctor for sure.

Dr. Ponder is analytical, methodical, and professional. We worked through a process of elimination to find better contacts and the new brand feels like heaven! She even allowed me to continue to compare prescriptions throughout the visit to make sure that I was comfortable with the change. It is a true luxury when a doctor will provide that level of attention and care. I didn’t experience any of the front desk issues reported by other Unilocalers… it’s likely that receptionist has been replaced as I had a very neutral experience. Regarding the comment about her equipment… I didn’t find any of it to be outdated. Frankly, I’ve had the worst experiences in Dallas with the super modern, glossy doctors in Uptown as their people are often pretty but not smart.

I have been going to Dr. Ponder for years and she is amazing! Very nice, smart, forward thinking and her equipment is new. Besides the miserable woman at the front desk(who is the complete opposite of Dr. Ponder) I refer all of my friends and family to go here. Turtle Creek also has a really good selection of frames.

Best eye doctor hands down! I was hesitant to go here because several past reviews complained about the«mean old lady» at the front desk, but said the doctor was good, so I gave it a shot. The older lady at the front desk was perfectly nice to me, I was surprised because of past reviews. She asked me how the weather was outside(it had been raining) and was just nice overall when dealing with my paperwork and check-out. Super sweet lady, but I was very nice to her in return so maybe that made a difference. Loved Dr. Ponder! I have been wearing contacts for 15 years with astigmatisms in both eyes and have never felt like I had the right prescription in my eyes. I used to live in OK and went to a different eye doctor every year, but was never satisfied. I debated between going here and Park Cities, but decided on Turtle Creek since it’s closer to home. I’m so glad I did! Dr. Ponder took her time to make sure I got the right prescription. We even tried different strengths of contacts and tested my eyes several times for accuracy. She actually apologized for«being a perfectionist» by making me try different contacts, but that just made me happy because all of my past doctors never took their time, so I appreciated her honesty. My appointment was a 8:15 and I was out at 9:15, so I didn’t have to wait 2 hours like some of the other reviews mentioned. Even if I had to, it would have been worth it because of the care I received! I’m not sure about«old» technology either, but it looked fine to me. Apparently they just moved offices 2 months ago from Oaklawn to Turtle Creek, and the new office is all brand new and nice! If you have any questions, feel free to message me, but I’m so happy to have found a new, permanent eye doctor!

They were extremely personable and helpful. The wait was not long as is the case with most doctor’s offices. I had no complaints.

While Dr. Ponder herself was fine, I have to say that the woman at the front desk is horribly rude and also miserable to deal with over the phone. Besides that, I had a very negative experience with this office not allowing me to order another box of contact lenses because they claimed my prescription had«expired». I had problems with my original contacts, went in for assistance and Dr. Ponder did a full examination and gave me an entirely new prescription. So even though my prescription was less than 6 months old, the woman running the front desk insisted that my «yearly examination» was due and therefore my prescription had expired. She refused to allow me to order contacts(and thereby made it impossible for me to order from 1800contacts) unless I had another $ 200 eye exam at their office. Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere for future eye exams and I would recommend that all others do too.

Dr. Ponder is fairly good. The equipment is far from state of the art. There are some doctors in Dallas who really do have state of the art scanning equipment for the same price. But the worst part of her operation is the older woman who runs the front desk and office. She is so rude I simply cannot go back to Dr. Ponder’s office. I would rather spend my money elsewhere which is unfortunately since the doctor herself is pleasant and considerate.

Sure is nice to have reviews for doctors! This was so helpful. All of my doctors are in the mid-cities closer to home, but I am starting to switch to doctors in Dallas closer to work so I can schedule my appointments around lunch and not have to eat up so much personal time! So yesterday was my first visit to Turtle Creek Eye Associates. The front desk ladies were nice, but a little slow getting things moving along. I was taking an extended lunch break and it took a little bit to get a room even though I arrived 15min early to knock out the paperwork. Apparently, Dr. Ponder was a little behind on schedule. I went through several machine operated eye tests and then finally met Dr. Ponder in a room — she was super personable and made sure we got the perfect fit for my contacts. I really liked her and thought she did a thorough job. Only down side was the time factor… I was there about an hour and a half. so I ended up taking a 2 hr lunch by the time I factored in getting there, the visit and then getting back to work… ouch.

Without question Dr Ponder is the best eye Dr I ever had… Been in glasses since 2nd grade so I know. I have an awful astigmatism and so does she. So she really takes her time to pinpoint the sweet spot on your glasses. The office has a great selection of high end and also affordable frames. If you dont have a Dr this one is highly recommended. Great service, professionalism and above all great people that care

Turtle Creek Eye Associates was recommended to me by a girl at the last place I worked. I went their last year and again this year. Dr. Rebecca Ponder has to be the best eye doctor I’ve ever been to! This last visit(in June) found me running late for my appointment. I called and mentioned that, although I was on the road, I would be at least ten to fifteen minutes late. I asked if they would prefer that I reschedule and I even offered to pay a missed appointment fee(after all, it was my own fault I was late.) Nope, they told me to come on in anyway. Once I arrived, Dr. Ponder took quite a bit of time examining my eyes. Besides using the machine that looks like the Viewmaster toy I had as a kid, she brought out this giant case of little loups that she used to examine my eyes. She then recommended contacts that would help with my astigmatism. Once I put them on, she had me sit for about twenty minutes so I could be sure they were okay(they take a while to settle.) I’ve never taken so long at an eye exam; it was a little over two hours. Then again, I’ve never been happier with my glasses and contacts, nor have I ever been able to see as well as I do now.
