After ending my second call of the day to this office, I had to write a review. I’m hoping the office will read it and take it as constructive criticism.
My kids have been going to Dr. Thron for routine eye check ups for 6 – 7 years now. He is a really nice guy. The office is small and has been in the neighborhood forever. I believe they allow walkins but because I have three kids, I always call to make an appointment. This is a most dreaded procedure. but not because of the doctor. Because of his receptionist!
Every time I call, I recognize her voice. I brace myself and try to be as pleasant as possible. but she is always very curt with me. She cuts me off in mid sentence, often ending the call before I’ve finished asking my questions. She is abrasive and off putting, to the point where I have searched for other doctors almost every year because I can’t stand calling her. Sad thing is, the kids love the actual doctor, and he is very convenient for us. So I continue to go back. As soon as we walk in the door, there she is. I brace myself again… but she is SO pleasant! It’s like a Jekyll and Hyde situation! We make small talk, she smiles at the kids. and I relax. I don’t understand why she is so unpleasant on the phone, yet so friendly and warm in person!
If not for her horrible phone etiquette, this business would be receiving at least four stars from me. Sorry Dr. Thron, but the fact is, she IS the first impression. and it’s a lasting, scarring one. :-/
