Came to this place for late night drinks Friday night. The place was busy. We did get good seats on the balcony. Nice view. People can smoke there so if it bothers you don’t sit there. I didn’t get to see the inside just… well next time. I had the Bourbon cocktail called Berry white. I usually go for tequila and vodka cocktails because I don’t like the strong taste of alcohol but this drink Amaaaaziiiiing. It’s flavorful it had lots of different berries in it. Best blueberries I have ever had. The berries were soaked in the alcohol, mmmmh yummy. The service was kinda slow. They did not notice us when we sat down and we had to track our waitress down to pay so we could leave. She was to busy to check on us often which is okay. I will definitely come back to this for drinks and would love to try their food.

Love this place! Super busy on Sunday nights. Lots of cocktails to choose from and i love the fact that they’re located on the second floor and have a patio outside… so it’s almost like a rooftop bar! oh and there’s plenty of free parking as well(open or garage)! Old fashioned is my usual go-to cocktail but I found a new favorite tonight — Bay of Pigs! It has an amazing wood scent to it and it goes down smooth! Perfect for a night cap! Definitely come and check this place out for amazing cocktails if you’re in the Mockingbird Lane and 75 area!

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. Sunday is apparently super loud DJ night…. . Also very dark. Some white folks in a tucked in shirt and dress just walked out.

Food Deliciousness: 4⁄5 Food Value: 2⁄5 Drink Awesomeness: 5⁄5 This looked like my sort of place, but it was a little lighter on the food than I hoped. I ended up ordering two dishes(stuffed mushrooms, veggie flat) that were effectively appetizers, but each were a bit pricey. I wasn’t really full after both of them. So, I wouldn’t recommend this for dinner. The dishes were very tasty, and would have been great snacks before dinner. YOUSHOULDCOMEHEREANDDRINK. I was impressed with the drink menu — and I drink at some pretty awesome places. Sadly, I only had one drink — it was potent, and I didn’t have enough food to soak up all that booze. The bartender offered me a small taster of another he made for someone else that involved actual smoke. I’m a big fan of cocktails that require fire. Other notes: there was almost no one there, even though it was dinner o’clock on a Tuesday and other places in the shopping center were busy. The televisions were set to some interesting choices.

A blond(ish) walks into a bar(ish). She says«Isn’t there xxxx meeting here for a happy hour?» Bartender says«Yeah, an hour ago. They’re all gone.» She says«Wow, I feel like a tool.» Bartender says«Have a drink, anyway,» and literally throws a menu onto the bar. She has a drink. And a stuffed avocado. And she enjoys it. Pretty sure he thought she was obnoxious. But, because she actually is slightly obnoxious, she doesn’t care. She’ll be back.

Very high quality drinks. Nice folks. I find the atmosphere slightly sterile and the seating not especially comfortable. But I’m glad it’s here. Truly a fine bar.

For some reason or another, I have yet to come to People’s when I was hungry. I’ve been here on multiple occasions for drinks. and lots of them. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are. If they’re not busy, service is attentive and some of the bartenders are cute as F. If they are busy, best of luck getting anyone’s attention. You know they’re busy if the bar area is popping when you walk in. They have a plethora of drinks to choose from — this is definitely a cocktail place. The French 75 is one of my favorites — you can barely taste the gin, which is a dangerous and glorious thing. They also have beer and wine for you class less folks. I’m just kidding, I love beer and wine as much as the next person does. What kind of blasphemous person doesn’t? P. S. Why the HELL is the big brown couch adjacent to the bookshelf so goddamn squishy? It’s like falling into a bean bag chair without the beans! You’ve been warned about the brown couch

Bread pudding is so yummy and the April O’Niel is too. Great place to meet friends. Staff is friendly. They freshly juice their fruits for cocktails.

I’ve only been here a couple of times, but every time I’ve had a great experience. Wish I lived closer! This time the bartenders(I asked their names) were Cory and Jonathan. Cory made me a couple of really great drinks — a Moscow Mule and then I had him make me a surprise drink. Both were great but whatever the second one was, was amazing! Highly recommend that he make you a surprise drink with vodka. Attentive staff, good drinks, easy to find parking in the garage — all around good experience. I’ll be back!

Been here before love their drinks! They totally remind me of the Usual bar in Fort Worth. This is better for me since it’s so much closer! It’s pricey but the drinks are worth the price. I usually have 2.

Every time I go I have the best waitress who can make the most fantastic cocktail. She even went as far as to make me my own special one. I call it the Oxendine. The location is great and incredibly convenient. The atmosphere is fantastic and that couch is to die for. Great place for a date who likes to relax yet still enjoy a classy cocktail.

I don’t know what the heck these people who frequent this restaurant is thinking! Every single person who gave this place more than 2 stars were drunk, or grew up with parents who were the worst cooks in life. It is not my job to truly demean their visitors, but for you to really understand that this is by far the worst place I have ever eaten at in my life(Oh, also a Chinese restaurant at Walt Disney world that I went to when I was 6 and now I’m in my 30’s). I never forget really bad food ever! The drinks were very mediocre, but I can see how some people will like the drinks, it is not terrible. The restaurant was extremely dead on a Saturday night. As I was sitting there having a conversation with friends, I looked around as said that the décor looks like a single guy who just graduated college, so they are not making money yet and have a bunch of other guy roommates. Place just looks like old furniture sitting in a room. No personality. Now the worst food! I orders the pomme frites. I sent them back immediately. They were not pomme frites, they were frozen limp fries with cheap Parmesan sprinkled on top. Then I ordered the shrimp creole. The most disgusting shrimp ever. It taste like shrimp that may have never been alive, but genetically grown and then frozen for 9 years. So when they defrost it, they cooked it in bunch of chili oil and I think tomatoes. Horrible! I took 1 bite. My husband ordered the flat bread and it was eatable and he said it was equal or a tad better than movie theatre pizza. My friend orders Brussels sprouts and did not finish it. Either way, she chose the spot and it was great company, but I have absolutely no idea how they stay open. Maybe drunk SMU students??! The server was really nice and patient. She knew the menu well and offered drinks according to our taste.

Let me tell how how disappointing it is to take the time and bookmark a place – only to go there and leave thinking«I probably won’t be back.» Want to hear the good news or the bad news first? Let’s go good… Good News: you’re going to love this scene! I saw all representations of Dallas in there – from the country folk to the heavy metal clan to the MY-DADS-THE-D.A.-SO-I-CAN-DO-WHATEVER-THE-HELL-I-WANT type of guys. The set up gives it a chill vibe; a perfect place for a delicious cocktail after work. The assortment of cocktails is incredible! Bad News: I had the pomme frites, brussel sprouts, and stuffed mushrooms. The stuff mushrooms were divine – balsamic vinegar fans will love this dish. The brussel sprouts were like chewing on marbles and the fries came with a sauce that tasted like freon(at least I think freon would taste like this). Oh, and I would give the service a 2. Overall, do yourself a favor and make sure you eat BEFORE you come.

I’ve heard of PLS for a while but had never stopped by. Because it’s the smart thing to do, I booked PLS for my birthday dinner last month without testing it first– luck(or PLS) was definitely on my side. I was searching long and hard for a location that could accommodate a party of about 20 people, a full bar and food I was interested in. I was deciding between this location and another and this staff responded much quicker than the other location. Later on, I went to the other spot for another dinner and was SO glad I ended up with this one instead. Service was definitely a 5⁄5. On the RSVP note– after I confirmed this booking, the RSVP was confirmed by text! Way to use the cell addictions of this age to your advantage :) I’m not good at names, but everyone working that night were all personable people. They were a lot of help with my birthday cake and staggered arrivals. Atmosphere? I’ll come here for drinks and bites regularly. They’ve got a bar area, couches, patio seating and regular seating. Because of prior reviews here on Unilocal,I was nervous that it was going to be too loud. Maybe I just got lucky, but my 7:30 reservation bode well. Belly work– great job y’all. Solid menu and solid taste. I got two Old Fashioned-s and an English Pearl. The Chicken Stuffed Avocado is perfection for avocado lovers! I also got a taste of the mac n cheese… It was really good! I preferred those over the flat bread. I’ll be back to try your whole menu(food and cocktails of course)

Solid cocktail menu but it can get packed — and when it is, it’s a nightmare of a wait to get served. Like a minimum of 15 minutes standing by the bar to get your drink. Still the bartenders are pleasant and do their best. The space is well maintained and cozy. On Sundays this summer they had an amazing happy hour dedicated to creative, refreshing cocktails, old school hip hop and r&b and just a fun vibe. Dallas doesn’t have many places that offer the such a balance of fun good music with a low key crowd and grown up vibe. I think it’s a matter of time before this spot gets overly discovered and it begins to get overly crowded on Sundays, but for now I dig it.

Am I doing it wrong? Well reviewed on Unilocal and by word of mouth by friends I trust, but I was a little underwhelmed. It’s a nice space(although not entirely sure the theme it’s going for)… One part lounge… One part coffeeshop/bookstore… One part Urban Outfitters? Going in the daytime really ruined the ambiance. Two of the four walls are mostly window, allowing the bright Texas summer sun to throw off the delicate indoor lighting. Also when I came there was a live DJ, spinning hip hop deep tracks, which was awesome. Only problem was the volume was too loud to comfortably have a conversation. As far as the menu goes, both the food and drinks look very sexy. Again, though, I was a little underwhelmed by the result. I went with the Great White Jail, which is supposed to feature pear or cinnamon infused bourbon, ginger beer, and some natural citrus flavorings. To me it just tasted like fizzy ginger lemonade. I couldn’t detect any liquor, let alone bourbon, let alone nuanced pear-infused bourbon. For food, I was hungry and decided to split the brussel sprouts with friends. Very delicious, but insanely little food for how much you pay($ 9 for only like 5 sprouts). I left very sober and very hungry, despite paying as if I had actually consumed enough to satisfy. Also, the service was ok, but it got slow towards the end and simply splitting up the bill seemed a very confusing task for our server. It wasn’t a terrible experience; it was just nowhere near my expectations. Not only is it well reviewed on Unilocal, but it also comes highly recommended by friends whose opinions I trust. So I am more than willing to give it another shot(maybe in the evening this time), and hopefully this proves to be an inaccurate first impression.

It’s a cool spot. It has a hipster vibe going on(that’s not a bad thing). The bartenders are seriously good at making some crazy stuff. I usually just have beer, but I sat at the bar last night and watched the guy make cocktail after cocktail and I wondered if anyone has ever stumped this guy. Every drink that people ordered was some kind of rare thing that I had never heard of, but the bartender knew exactly what all of them were. These were not things that were on a menu. These were drinks that had stuff in them that I would not even think of putting in a libation(like blueberry juice or some kind of fancy honey). I felt kind of bad for having a beer so I ordered a Moscow Mule(which is on the menu). I felt like that might have insulted his intelligence, but I’m not a liquor guy so I didn’t know what else to get. It was good and I know he didn’t really care what the hell I ordered. They have two huge TVs on the wall behind the bar. You can catch a football game or a movie if you want. They do not have anything on draft. The bottle selection is nice. The happy hour deals are great. This is a cozy place with sofas and soft seats inside. They have outdoor tables too, but seating is limited. I like it. The location is perfect. It’s next door to Trinity Hall and Twin Peaks.

Sweet place for a HH during the day or after work. There wasn’t much standing going on though, thanks to the ample seating available ;) Really enjoyed the menu here — the flatbreads and the green hummus(can’t recall why it was green though) were fantastic and left me wanting more. In terms of selection, they have a decent selection but nothing out of this world on tap. I think where they excel is their mixed drinks. They are very much so tailored to your requests and they don’t mind going out of the way to make them just how you like them — no matter how picky you may be.

we had a really good time here! aside from the obvious cocktails that everyone raves about, their food really took me by surprise! the bartenders(more specifically… skylar) were very knowledgable, friendly and accommodating. we also met a few regulars by sitting at the bar and had small talk with them too. we had a few drinks and they were all really good. let me start off by saying, i had the best old fashioned i’ve ever had, here at people’s! i also ordered«the great white jail», good cocktail, if you like moscow mules and sweeter cocktails. JR had a drink that i cant remember the name of… something with the name«pig» in it, and i dont believe it’s on the menu… but it was a cigar infused whiskey… thats right!!! cigar infused whiskey!!! that was a damn good drink if you’re into that kinda thing! to eat, we had mac and cheese and cajun shrimp and grits. the mac and cheese was to-die-FOR! mac and cheese made with extra sharp cheddar cheese and pancetta! it was SOGOOD! the cajun shrimp and grits were good too! i was really really surprised by how good their food was! Can’t wait to be back :)
