The food and service was absolutely phenomenal. A great first foray into Texas cuisine. Special shoutout to DJ our server who was so sweet and made the entire experience enjoyable! Definitely will be back!

Egg and I is an amazing place for brunch. Each time we go we ask for waiter DJ, he never fails to have a great attitude. He also remembers are orders from past times. The food is always delivered at a reasonable time. DJ always has a contagious smile on his face. Also the manager comes around frequently asking if everything is okay, he is a very engaged manager which is hard to find. The food and service is an overall great experience and I would recommend it to all.

First time visiting Dallas and this breakfast spot was so good. Our waiter DJ was wonderful and so personable. The owner was also very kind, he came over to our table and greeted us. For a bunch of New Yorkers, this was a wonderful Texas welcome.

The Egg & I receives a solid four stars for great service and decent food. I ordered a build your own omelette and wished it had more of the requested items in it. It seemed pretty sparse considering I ordered five add ins, and it comes with three. The waitress was fantastic, got our orders right, checked in often, and kept our drinks fresh. The kitchen did a great job with the accuracy of the orders, and the food came out fast. Great place for a weekend brunch, I’ll be back.

Really loved my breakfast! I originally was going to eat somewhere else, but they were too full. I am glad that they were. My server DJ was awesome! He took his time telling me. about the different dishes and really knew what he was talking about. I took his recommendation and was pleased! I will definitely be back when I come to Dallas.

You can’t go wrong with the Parisienne Benedict or the crab cake benedict. I had to buy their special — made hot sauce. It’s that delicious. My fiancée and I have never had bad service here. Our server who is the guy with the dark skin, hair, and eyes is always amiable and remembers the last time we came in. We are definitely regulars.

Not a great experience here. First of all, the floor is carpeted which is always a bad choice for a restaurant, at least in my opinion. The floor was sticky and there was water damage on the ceiling tiles, not very appetizing sitting under that. Secondly, it took 25 minutes after we ordered for our food to come and they weren’t even busy. All we ordered was a simple frittata and an omelette, there’s no way it should take that long. The guy at the table next to us got seated AFTER we ordered and was done with his entire meal(he also got an omelette) before we even got our food. Pretty ridiculous. The third negative I had is about the coffee. It’s just not good. They obviously over cook their beans, had a very burnt taste. There were also several other small annoyances. I had to ask twice for a coffee mug for myself, we had to ask twice for a to-go box for our left overs… things of that nature. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was alright, not great but decent. Based on all the other reviews maybe I just got unlucky with the bad service we experienced, but I won’t be back. Here’s my overall ratings– Atmosphere– 1.5÷5 Service– 1.5÷5 Food– 2.5÷5 Coffee– 2⁄5 Quality/value– 2.5÷5 UPDATE: Cassi who does ‘Customer Service’ for The Egg and I messaged me and asked for my information so that the owner could follow up with me, but considering her response to my negative review is the exact same copy and pasted message she says to every negative review, I didn’t take her apology as very sincere. My negative review stands.

Great breakfast or brunch place! Opens early so to easy to stop by during the week after an early morning workout. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs, it was so simple but delicious! The price point wasn’t too bad either. I would definitely go back again.

Blythe by far has the best customer service skills«hands down» as the saying goes of all the places I have visited. The Manager Steve(before meeting Blythe) had also showed great customer service from the previous experience and he went far above expectations. Yes I am delayed doing a review here and for good reason as it turns out. First visit does not need to be mentioned thank you Steve Since then have the privilege of having Blythe be the one taking care and excelling in service The food is good. I have a couple suggestions here. Noise level may be a bit high for me. So try to go on lesser busy times. Décor not really crazy about but it seems to work for the space it is. The cleanness restrooms one time a little behind. Other time I get the busyness will have an affect. Couple weird pricing things I do not agree with and could make your meal a little more pricy than normal. Ok no body go steal the best customer service person :). Have a great day and enjoy.

Yummy! This was my second time here. I forgot how great this place was. Out waitress was great, very attentive and nice. Great coffee and delicious food. I had the Texas Skillet which had eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, cheese and steak. It was a lot of food but every bite was delicious. The first time I came here I had the strawberry banana waffle, excited choice. You can’t go wrong with a Belgium waffle :) I also tried the Colorado Jack Scramble, Cordon Bleu Skillet, and the 3-Cheese Veggie Flatbread. All these choices were excellent and I will most definitely be back!

I’m new to the Addison area and have been meaning to try the Egg & I, since I ride past it every day on my way to work. I used Unilocal to order a takeout order of an omelette(spinach, bacon) ranch potatoes, and chicken sausage. My order was ready in 10 minutes. Everything was cooked perfectly, my omelette wasn’t soggy or overcooked. Also the staff that prepared my order were really nice and welcoming. I’m definitely going to make this a spot I go to regularly for breakfast.

My neighborhood breakfast diner. Great quality food and excellent service. It reminds me of being back in the NY area where diners were all about fast service and quality food. My favorite is their Spinach, Bacon & Mushroom omelet… I get a bigger bowl of grits and some coffee and I’m in heaven! Don’t pass up this place if you just want to go somewhere for a traditional breakfast without all the frills of fancier restaurants!

We were visiting the area for our anniversary in October 2015, and stopped in at The Egg & I. I got the Athena Scramble… and WOW. Can I just say that I dream about this and wish there was an Egg & I close by to where we live? It was amazing and literally melted in my mouth. The service was excellent, and someone dropped by to speak to us and check on how we liked our meal. In the conversation we brought up that we were visiting the area, and that it was our anniversary. We were congratulated, which was nice — but even better — to help us celebrate they did not charge us for our drinks. It made us feel very special and I often think that maybe I’ll drive an hour just to eat there again. Anyways — I highly recommend this place! The décor is cute, the restaurant is clean, the food is sublime, and the staff was great.

I moved to Addison 4 months back and I have been trying many breakfast places around this area. So far The Egg & I has been my favorite for their pancakes and eggs benedict. I custom ordered my whole wheat pancake with bananas and it was amazing. I loved the way they stuffed the bananas in the pancake. It tasted amazing. My only disappointment with this place is that they don’t serve cappuccino or a latte. I love to have a cup of latte with my breakfast but that is the only thing missing here. The servers here are very helpful and friendly, they got me warm milk to add in my coffee but it is not the same for me. This place is very busy on a Sunday but the food is worth the wait.

I was in the area visiting my friend for holidays who is a local resident of Addison and had heard a lot about egg & I from her, so glad we both decided to give it a try over the weekend. They had a pretty huge menu to offer and I asked for some help from our server, a very kind gentleman who was happy to help and he suggested Parisian Benedict — one word to describe this delicious breakfast: awesomeness. It took us almost 30 mins to get to the table but after eating the breakfast, I can very confidently say it was worth all the wait.

Solid. The service is prompt, friendly, and very attentive. I had the Huevos Rancheros, which was delicious. Full of flavor. It was my first meal back in Texas(I now live on the east coast where the Mexican food, to be frank, sucks) and it brought my tastebuds back to life. The ranch potatoes are also amazing. My mom had eggs Benedict. You will not be disappointed with that. I couldn’t help comparing it to the one I had at The Original Pancake House that I had a week later… disappointing to say the least. The hollandaise sauce at the Egg & I just had so much more flavor whereas at TOPH tasted too creamy and lacked depth. You can’t go wrong with the service, food, and price. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to like The Egg and I for several reasons: First, I really love the name. It’s cute. And cuddly. Kinda makes me picture myself curled up in bed with a scrambled egg on a cold December morning. Second, it’s a mom and pop operation that doesn’t look or feel like a mom and pop op – it’s a definite step up in décor from a regular diner. Finally, it’s super-close to where I live and I like to have some good breakfast/brunch options. Sadly, my visit left me feeling like I went to bed with the scrambled egg and woke up all alone without even a note saying goodbye. First, the bad news. I ordered the Apple Pancake. Now I wasn’t expecting a monstrosity along the lines of that 4000 calorie apple-laden beast served at The Original Pancake House but I was expecting… apples. It was basically an extremely fluffy pancake with a few thinly sliced baked apples adorning the top in a visually appealing manner but left my palette wanting. The pancake itself didn’t taste very good and the apples were so sparse and devoid of flavor that it seemed the apple part of the title was more of an afterthought. In its defense, Egg&I doesn’t claim to have Fresh-Squeezed OJ, but instead offer Simply OJ which is a step up from the typical generic OJ you might find elsewhere. My problem is that when I order a LARGEOJ and its NOT fresh-squeezed, I expect it to be bigger than a 6oz or 8oz glass. C’mon, you’ve already admitted it’s coming out of a bottle — don’t charge me $ 5 for a smaller glass than a soda comes in. Service was friendly, albeit somewhat deluded as the waitress insisted the Apple Pancake was a ‘huge favorite’(I remain skeptical). Despite table service, this is a place where you pay at the front, which is always an annoyance and inconvenience of mine. After I’m done eating, the last thing I want to do is wait in line to pay the bill. But wait I did. There was apparently a problem with the credit card of the person in front of me. So instead of quickly taking care of me, I was stuck waiting for ten minutes while the register girl ran around the restaurant trying to get help. A likely anomaly, yes, but extremely annoying nonetheless. After spending some time together and doing a bit more than cuddling, I’m not ashamed to admit that The Egg & I were just a One Night Stand.

Yum. This is one of my fave spots for brunch. They have great prices for the amount of food they give. Their OJ is delish and their coffee is just as good. I’ve had their eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles and all are good priced and high quality. The service has been exceptional any time I have went as well, even on busy mornings!

The first time I went to this location it was a great and quiet breakfast. There wasn’t a long wait and we were served coffee and orange juice immediately. I ordered the chicken sausage scramble and it came with an English muffin and fruit. It was hot and the perfect amount of food. The prices are ok and the waiter who served us was super friendly and took good care of us. The second time around we ordered from home and picked up our breakfast and we were disappointed. I ordered the same scramble and it was a third of the size it was when I went to the restaurant. All in all we will go back– it’s easy to get to and a little bit off the beaten path from the restaurant hot spots on beltline. I’ve never seen it so busy that it looks unappealing due to the wait which is usually a big deal for me.

This is a very solid breakfast place. I would say most of the menu is standard, so don’t expect unique offerings. However, when we showed up just before 10 on a Saturday we were seated right away. I like that for coffee and tea they give you a pot. However, they should do this for water as well. I think since they had the pots for the other two they didn’t check on us much which let my husbands water go dry a few times. Other then that service was good and food came out quickly. I think the prices are a little high for standard breakfast but good compared to the«brunches» in the area the prices are good. We each got a waffle with two eggs and bacon. I was a little disappointed in the bacon they were think limp slices. However the waffles were really good. Mine with fresh berries, my husbands with pumpkin, pecans and cinnamon butter. Good flavors and fluffy inside. Also very good syrup. We each finished our plates, but almost $ 10 for something that probably costs $ 2 to make seems a bit much to me. I didn’t really see anything on the menu under $ 8 or $ 9 which is high for breakfast foods. Given all that, it is one the staple and probably the best breakfast spots in the area. Probably still where I would come when craving traditional breakfast food.

After a work meeting, a couple coworkers and I were in need of a good hearty breakfast~ my co-worker recommended this place, as he had been here a couple times before, and I was a little skeptic, but after looking over the menu, I was beyond excited! The place is way bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside! We were seated immediately and our server was tentative and nice, even though having 3 other tables. Was very impressed for it being a busy Sunday morning. As a vegetarian, and a healthy eater, I had no trouble finding something that fit what I would like to eat. Under the lighter offerings(I forget what they’re called on the menu) but I got the egg white omelette that came with all the veggies in it and a side of fruit and English muffin. Took about 10 – 15 minutes for our food to arrive, and man! The presentations were amazing. My friends ordered some biscuit gravy thing(which I took a bite of and the potatoes were to die for) and my other coworker got strawberry something waffles which were mouthwatering. My omelette was so fluffy and so yummy and paired greatly with the hotsauce accompanied on the table. I will most definitely be coming back!!! This place is so good. If I could give it more stars, I would!!!

We came here for brunch with a party of 6(two of them kids) and had a great meal. It was busy, but the wait was only 10 – 15 minutes. Our waitress was great! Some of the best items our group ordered were the ranch potatoes, the green chile sauce(gonna get a big ‘ol cup of that on the side the next time!) and the cinnamon roll french toast. The kids pancakes came out with faces on them, so the kiddos were immediately big fans of the place! We’ll be returning here soon!

I can here because I searched Unilocal for nearby places to eat breakfast. It’s like a Dallas version of jimmy egg of Oklahoma City. They have a pretty sized menu with one let’s and waffles and pancakes. I got the crab cake Benedict. It was English muffins with tomatoes slices and the crab cake with hollindaise sauce all over. It’s was very delicious and surprisingly not as salty as other crab cake Benedicts that I have eaten in the past. It comes with a side of ranch potatoes or fresh fruit. I personally got the fresh fruit but the potatoes did sound good. I looked at our neighboring booth and the ranch potatoes were excellent when I asked them how it was. My husband got the Belgium waffle with the egg. He said it was just ok not anything super ordinary, it seems this place is good for Benedicts and one lets from what our waiter told us. Overall good place to get breakfast: brunch for anyone nearby!

Food quality is decent and it’s nothing I’d really crave but what separates this place from any other brunch places is their customer service and their prices! With a group of 10, our bill was so CHEAP(under 80 $) which was so surprising for me. This place is a staple for the local Dallas Texans and I feel like they have a lot of frequent visitors because everyone who came in, the host and servers all knew them by name! If I visit Dallas again and happen to be nearby and was hungry, I’d probably stop by again.

This is my favorite low key brunch place! Everything on the menu is delicious and a reasonable price. It’s like IHOP or Denny’s, but BETTER because of the non-diner feel to it. Everyone that works here is also super friendly and helpful. I love getting the Mexican omelette, but whenever I want to have a sweet breakfast, I get the cinnamon raisin French toast. It is so yummy but also probably not the healthiest thing on the menu, but if you’re looking for a low calorie meal, they also have a special«healthy» section on the menu!

I absolutely love The Egg and I! I have been here twice since I moved to Carrollton, and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and always accommodated us in every way. My go to here is the parisian benedict. The buttery soft croissant is just to die for. The crabcake benedict is pretty awesome too, but how can you not like anything with crab cake on it. We have also tried the Texas skillet and the Cambridge skillet, both were amazing! We always leave with empty plates, and the portion size for these plates are a good amount, so it tells you just how good the food is to us :)

This is my kind of breakfast place. I wish it were closer to home! Very simple, it is very clean, the service is wonderfully friendly and efficient and the food is excellent. I have to say that one of my measurements for a good breakfast is homemade corned beef hash. Here, they do a great job with it. So, if you are a local you probably already know this place. This place is tucked away in an area that I always drive by but didn’t pay attention to but I know now it’s a place worth stopping at. The service is great, the food is good and it has an old-timely charm. California Frittata– My frittata was good and just as my waitress described it to be. It came in a good size dish still steaming hot and included artichokes(my fave!), tomato, mushrooms, chicken, pesto, garlic and olive oil. It came with an english muffin that was warm but you can get toast instead if you like. It also came with a side of country potatoes which were seasoned well but you can have grits instead if you choose. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict– My friend ordered this and I tried it. Good but could’ve had much more crab in it. It also comes with choice of grits or country potatoes but no toast/english muffin. They put plant of hollandaise sauce on top and the egg was poached well. My waitress was very nice and attentive. She forgot to bring us a few items but she checked up on us in the right amount of time that she quickly returned with items she forgot. It’s hard to find the nice balance of how frequently customers want to be interacted with I imagine and she was great at it. The interior is like an old southern house with these wooden chairs you picture from old western films, wooden floors and even a sectioned off area with walls all of wood. I wouldn’t decorate like this for any reason but in this restaurant it just worked for some reason. I will be returning again.
