Because they only serve black coffee, no cream whatsoever. Breakfast was good, standard

We were with friends and we were staying at the Adolphus hotel so this was our first choice for breakfast. I have to say the corned beef hash was some of the best I have ever had. Our service was excellent and all of us enjoyed our meal. Considering this place is in an upscale hotel, the prices are about right. To just drop in here from the street it might be considered too pricey. That is the only reason not to give it the 5th star.

It’s located in the Adolphus Hotel. Unless you are staying here it is not worth the trouble. The omelette was very dry and the potatoes were average. The service was adequate. All in all, besides the French Room, I am extremely disappointed in this hotel.

The breakfast staff here is very Denny’s/greasy-spoon-like. The coffee carafe looked gross, like it had a week’s worth of spilled coffee all over it. I ordered a latte but what I got looked like weak coffee at best, served on a saucer with a cloth napkin square soaked in spilled coffee. The muesli was soggy with some mystery yogurt on top. My placemat was dirty. The server sounded like she had emphysema at best or a wet cold at worst. Sorry, but this place is not worth it. There are many other good breakfast places, not the least of which is CBD Provisions at the nearby Joule.

The Adolphus is the oldest hotel in Dallas. The number 100 got gratuitously thrown around a lot by the staff during my breakfast and coffee visit there, somewhat cheapening the otherwise palatial presence of giant potted ferns, antique seatees, fine carpets, wood walls, complete with gilded age accessories like a wooden cased concert piano, a clock and mirror, all 100 years old. $ 9 for 2 eggs, toast and potatoes was suprising, so was $ 2.50 coffee, at a historic swanky establishment where in Dallas perhaps age isn’t fashionable. That’s okay, just sit at the bar if you want to feel like a 1912 fat cat or in the middle library room if you want modern hipster, just skip the bright ordinary main dining hall, unless you’re with your mom. My breakfast itself was standard, if comfortably ordinary. The potatoes were a little heavy in my stomach later but I’m not used to much grease. Eggs were perfect and so was the dry rye toast. Free coffee refills Breakfast buffets on weekends, if the hotel has high occupancy. Closed for lunch until hotel renovations are complete.

Eggs Benedict was great, english muffins toasted and buttered. Could use a lil more Hollandaise sauce. The sausages i ordered were strangely crispy and cold. Dont refill your juice enough(i drink a lot of fresh juice). Staff is great! Dont think I will go back due to the price and quality is not impressive.

Very tasty breakfast option inside The Adolphus Hotel. It’s a little on the pricey side but not wholly unreasonable. My boyfriend got the Classic American Breakfast – two any style eggs, breakfast meat, juice/coffee, and it was a very hefty portion, as you can see from the photos. It also came with hash browns which were pretty damn tasty. I myself was very curious about the crab benedict but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it for $ 19, especially when the Huevos Rancheros sounded fairly epic and was $ 13. I will say, it was a damn delicious option. Take a look at that photo – if you manage to finish that baby you’ll probably need a nap after! $ 10 for each mimosa was a little precious I thought, but pretty par for the course in a hotel restaurant, I suppose. You pay for convenience! Overall this is a tasty and slightly pricier option, but if you’re here already and it’s cold/rainy out like it was for us, it’s probably worth it! It’s not as ritzy as the rest of the hotel, so dressing down a little won’t get you judgy side-eye from the other patrons.

I LOVE this place. I’ve been for both lunch and brunch and both were excellent. Service is friendly and quick and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. It feels very home-y. Also I felt like I was getting a bargain for the quality of the food. The white fish was amazzzing and so was the crème brûlée. I wish I worked or lived near there so I could eat it all the time!

This is a beautiful old restaurant located in the elegant Adolphus hotel. I have only had breakfast, so this review in confined to breakfast, many times, at the Bistro. For some reason, the valets have always allowed me to park for free which is a huge plus. The weakest link is the hostess and this may be due to a design flaw where their stand should be closer to the doorwary. Once seated, there’s an excellent assortment of breakfast items and fresh juices. There’s a healthy omelet for folks who travel an insane amount and need to watch what we eat, or there’s an excellent steel cut oatmeal which comes with fresh berries! I always come here at least once on every trip to the big D.

This seems appropriate for my 100th review. The Bistro was mind-blowingly fantasticaliciously inspired for breakfast! I like that word«fantasticaliciously» because it sounds fun and is the culmination of a lot of positive words. Actually, the Bistro was the best breakfast I have ever had and I’ve had some pretty amazing meals. My wife and I were having a quick stay-cation at the Adolphus while our kids were at their grandparents(see separate review for stay at Adolphus: zero stars). I wanted to go to the Ritz for a breakfast, but she didn’t want to leave and I’m so glad I agreed! The good stuff kids go for! — Huevos Rancheros: my order. The huevos rancheros were flawless in execution. I mean they looked like a work of art; culinary art. My first bite introduced an explosion of magical southwest flavors of which the red ranch sauce they put on the plate was a life changing experience. You could tell that this wasn’t thrown together as it was layers upon layers thoughtfully arranged in order to create the perfect bite. I looked and sounded like Bob Wiley in «What about Bob» moaning and gasping at every succulent bite putting my fork and knife down after each taste simply to embrace the excitement. I LOVE food and LOVE breakfast and LOVE huevos rancheros and this by far was the best I’ve ever had! You’ve got to try it. It will change your life! — Eggs Benedict: my brides order. The eggs benedict, though not as technical in all the set up or flavors, was very solid. The hollandaise sauce was dead on as was the presentation. It was flavorful and rich without being overkill. Also, the potatoes were quite tasty! Anyone who considers himself a connoisseur of eggs benedict owes it to himself to try this place out. The price: I have to admit, I was a little shocked. The entrees were in line with the competition(around $ 12 – 13 each) which is what I pay at Original Pancake House in Addison except now for a far superior experience, food and atmosphere. The service: I don’t remember the service being great, but we weren’t in a rush. This probably isn’t where you want to go if you are in a rush. We had no agenda and were loving the view and each others company so all was well. The view: We had a great view as they took us to the back of the restaurant and gave us the booth by the window. We could see a glimpse of downtown below as we watched cars, bikes and society going to work. I would definitely insist on a table with by the window as that definitely adds to the experience. Warning on parking: The only parking that Adolphus provides is valet and I don’t know if they validate so I would definitely check in advance and would suggest finding a place on the street or something as their valet is very expensive and slow. I didn’t include this in a review of this restaurant, but did in my review of the hotel. That said, you must park in order to go to the bistro so think through that part in advance. Summary: We had a wonderful time at the bistro and would definitely do it again. I had the best huevos rancheros of my life and still can’t stop thinking of it over a week later. I loved the view and honestly may be a little biased due to my company as I love spending time with my bride. That said, the prep involved in the huevos makes me believe that it wasn’t a fluke and would be consistently awesome day after succulent day. Give em a try!

Very tasty breakfasts, but I doubt I’d ever go there if I wasn’t getting the food for free. Great eggs and very tasty pastries.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Adolphus for almost a week over Thanksgiving this week. While we were there… we found ourselves dining at The Bistro often. Their fabulous service, good food and location kept on bringing us back. Breakfast — love the buffet. It has everything you would want for a standard breakfast — eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fruit and an assortment of breads and pastries. It also comes with coffee and juice. Breakfast menu is pretty large, as well. Lunch — great menu with a lot of variety. A few of my highlights — dumplings, french onion soup, cobb salad and their turkey pretzel sandwich. Delicious! Note — since we were staying at the hotel, we also parked there. I’m not sure if they the hotel offers free parking for those dining at their restaurant. Overall…whether you’re staying, visiting or just walking by The Adolphus… The Bistro is a restaurant everyone in Dallas should try.

My boyfriend and I were staying at the Adolphus over the Easter holiday and had heard good things about the Bistro. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful. The décor was French bistro meets diner, with a collection of teapots decorating the walls. We went for breakfast, and the food was great. The«Adolphus Healthy Omelette» is one of the best egg dishes I’ve ever eaten. The service, much like the service in the hotel, was top notch. I can’t wait to go there again!

This will be my shortest review, simple to go. The service was atrocious. It took a long time to get seated and about 45 minutes to receive our breakfast food. Server never came back and checked on us, nor did she ever come back to pick up the bill. The servers were taking plates, utensils, and chairs from our table with out a mere excuse me, to accommodate another party. The food was pricey and not worth it. In other words, DON’T GO. There plenty of great breakfast joints near the hotel.

This review is completely based on their breakfast menu since that was all we had there. What’s there to say, it was mediocre for the most part; Denny’s breakfast menu will give them a run for their money. The banana and pecan pancakes was OK, nothing to write home about, Eggs and Hash not very exciting, but their eggs Benedict and crab was the best thing we had. Service is a bit slow if you were in a hurry, but for those prices… go to Denny’s

This little jewel in the Adolphus Hotel reminds you of a coffee house in Lisbon or Paris. The black and white tiles, the cerulean corner pieces, the red accents; all make this authentically European in décor and ambiance. Elegant and yet understated it is hard to believe you are still in Dallas. You pass the Bistro Bar off the Lobby Living Room near the Guggenheim’s Steinway on the way in. Early in the day, the server greets you and Blondie with a pitcher of fresh squeezed OJ. Order your lattés and then you are on to the eggs Benedict. You look out over the downtown streets from the second story window seat and feel transported to an easier day and time. Great service, quality food, prepared the way it only can be done in a truly five star property. I highly recommend this for a business lunch venue too. And cocktails at the bar in the afternoon give you that same feeling of having slipped across hemispheres when you crossed the threshold. Stay for dinner and while it is not the French Room(you didn’t want it to be) it is a genuinely, charming and memorable dining experience with not so much pomp and circumstance. Let the valet know you are going to be in and out of the Bistro and he’ll keep your car front and center too.
