If you like cockroaches you will like this place. If you like an unsafe neighborhood — you will love it here. Melody Lane doesn’t look so bad, but Ridgecrest is full of unsavory people. This apartment complex will take anyone — the mentally ill, the illegals, the non-English speaking, the unemployed, the drug addicts. I love the size of the apartment. I moved here as it was closer to my job. But it is on the«hood» side of the 75 and it is not a safe area. Someone was robbed at gunpoint by 4 teenagers at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Recently all the codes to open the gates were changed and management did not tell anyone. I came home a couple of times and my key card would not open the gate. I brought it to the attention of the leasing office and was told, «It should work now.» It didn’t. Cars lined up on Melody Lane with people not able to get in the gate. The gates are not a deterrent to keep out the unsavory people. They hop the fence from the neighboring apartment complex and people have even removed boards from the neighboring fence. I moved here June 1, 2015 and the only reason I stay is because I cannot afford to move again. The pool does not have steps or ladders to get in and out. So I don’t use it. The exercise room is only open during open leasing hours.

Been here for a few weeks. Already a cockroach problem. No one even called back to tell us when the pest control would come. They showed up a few days later and were literally there for 2 seconds. Now we have had a toilet leak for the past two days and no one has still fixed it or called us back. We’re most likely moving from this area after 6 months.

We wanted to save a little money so we went to look at these apartments. The girl Felicia was at the desk and she was not welcoming at all nor did she have any personality. Talking to her turned us off of these apartments alone; we didn’t want to live somewhere where we were treated like this. We didn’t even bother to look at the apartments. The area looks unsafe and run down also.

The people in the office don’t know what they are talking about. They tack on increasingly large late fees and keep finding ways to make it more difficult to pay rent like removing the mailbox and changing their policies so they get more late fees. They hire companies to do maintenance who do absolutely nothing — happened to us with carpet cleaning, spraying for bugs, and roof repair. Mold has been painted over. But it’s a good location.

I have lived here for two years and the problems have gotten so bad that we will be moving as soon as our lease is up. The only two things that are positive about the apartment complex is the location to surrounding locations such as malls and entertainment and the affordable rent. However, these two important aspects are no longer enough to keep us here. There is an awful lack of communication between the management and the renters. There have been numerous times that the water has been shut off for maintenance purposes without any warning. There has also been a lack of urgency involving maintenance requests such as a broken dishwasher and extreme mold growing from the air vents. They also make you sign a car agreement when you sign your lease. They insist on inspecting the vehicles before giving you car sticker. They inspected and approved my husbands car and gave him the go ahead to have a parking sticker. Four months later they revoked the sticker on his vehicle and told us we could no longer park there due to chipping paint on the trunk of his car… The same chipping that was there at the time of inspection. We have also been told that we cannot put certain things on our patio(grill, large cooler and tailgating chairs). This has been an awful experience. I could keep going on and on, but I won’t. Nonetheless, thanks for humbling me Biltmore! We will be moving in May when our lease is up.
