Neat little place. Good food served fast– I just wish everything wasn’t an upcharge(egg, corn, bamboo shoots, etc).

Good ramen, fast and speedy! Lobster ramen is delicious! Order from menu when I walk in and choose what to add. Menu is also on wall to look at! Love love love! The tonkatsu is good but I wanted some spicy oils to add to it, but was fine without it. Really enjoyed the flavor of the lobster ramen had a nice flavor that i can’t exactly put my finger on it, let me think about it… just reminded me of being a little girl when i lived in Japan and the flavors of so many things I would often eat. It seriously made me happy eating here. Most people always try to americanize traditional asian food and sometimes you just need to stick with tradition. I am very happy with the ramen here and will gladly return!

If you didn’t know, you now know that while DFW is surprisingly lacking in the Chinese cuisine department, they absolutely kill it when it comes to Japanese. Establishments like Tei-An, Tei Tei Robata Bar, and Uchi can stand toe to toe with anyone in the country, and Ten Ramen is another powerful addition to the lineup. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The concept here at Ten Ramen blends new age authenticism(I don’t think that’s a word, but you know what I mean) with the very traditional, standing room only concept of an in and out ramen bar in Tokyo. As others have stated, it’s cramped; but you know what else is cramped?(and I can speak to this having lived there for two years myself): Tokyo is cramped. Boom. Authentic no? So here’s the deal. You order on one of the two iPads(sleek guys, i’m impressed), you type in your name, and after roughly five minutes they serve up your ramen. Brilliant. The perfect solution to the anti-social animé loving Japanophiles everywhere! Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Ramen is unusually expensive these days, but Ten Ramen keeps things within reason with dishes that sit at roughly $ 12 and can build from there based on your add-ons. My Spicy Maze-men was $ 12.00, and I upped things to $ 14.00 thanks to a little pork belly addition. While you might not be able to tell from the picture, this was a significant portion, and I left almost uncomfortably full. You know what we call that for under $ 15.00 at a specialty non-chain? Value. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? When I first moved to Dallas I was absolutely positive that nothing in the state of Texas could even come close to competing with the likes of Momofuku or Ippudo let alone anything that I’d experienced across Japan and greater Asia: then I met Tei-An. After basking in the glory that was Tei-An’s ramen I once again firmly believed that it couldn’t be topped: I was right, but let it be known that Ten Ramen comes almost alarmingly close. This ramen(maze-men in my case) was brilliant, with flavorful and perfectly cooked noodles blending with minced pork that was full of flavor and spice alike. The egg, when mixed in with the rest of the blend, complimented the whole spiel, and I didn’t need to add a single peripheral to make this some of the better ramen I’ve had. Kudos indeed. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? In my book — so long as Tei-An exists there can be no other five star Japanese noodle establishment, but I’ll be sure to give Ten Ramen many more tries to see if consistent performance can’t push things up into five star territory. No Star Granted.

So after going to wabi house, I was convinced that was the best I would get in Texas… Until I came here. Woah. Was I impressed! I wouldn’t consider myself a ramen snob, but I do know what to generally look for in my ramen and tend to be a little pickier than the average eater. The amount of noodles was pretty generous. Noodles were cooked just right, not too soggy after being in the hot soup nor undercooked. The broth was perfect. And the chashu… Oh man. They grilled it and I don’t think I’ve had it done like that? But whatever they did, it was phenomenal. Best chashu I’ve tasted. Such a good deal too! $ 10 for a spot on bowl of ramen. Only slight downside is that the egg costs extra and is poached instead of soft boiled as per usual. One of the chefs is a mentee of a chef(the owner) at Tei-an, a fancy Japanese restaurant. So that should say a lot about the ramen quality. About the set up, it’s supposed to imitate what a real ramen bar in Japan is like. Which apparently is standing up(which apparently is better for your digestive system and metabolism also). It’s conducive to eating alone. It’s not obvious you’re alone unless well, there’s only one other person who’s sitting on the other wall end… But that would be rare, because when would this place not be crowded?! It’s too good for that. FYI it only fits like ten people. Hence the name? So try to come at unusual mealtimes to avoid lines.

Cozy, fun, and delicious. I love their egg shot(forgot the name). Not a place to hang out though. Limited dinning space, plus there is no chair for you to sit. I will totally recommend this store to a friend, or strangers. :D

I really wanted to like this place. To begin, it’s a really cool spot. It’s hidden away in the plaza, and when you enter you’re greeted with great smells and a small little ramen bar with no seating. You order on an iPad, and when your order comes out you can spice up your food with fresh garlic on the spot. I claim to be no ramen buff, but all of my great experiences with ramen have been a little different. Great ramen, to me, is delicious, flavorful broth. It’s eating someplace you get to sit, no frills or pretentious«rules for eating ramen» above you. It’s getting a smile from the chef, and having him ask about your day, not a snarl and a dismissal. It’s actually getting a portion that qualifies as a meal. Ramen, to me, is not having to pay extra for them to give you a raw egg to crack into your ramen. The portion size they give you is quite small, and other than the noodles(quite tasty), barely above average. The meat tastes like an afterthought to the ramen, and the broth was bland at best. The overall feel was very lacking in flavor. Call me old fashioned, but I miss the days when ramen shops were about good food at a reasonable price, and not about ordering a fancy bowl on an electronic device. Mediocre food at a premium. Take your hard earned money somewhere else.

To me, this place warrants a visit more for the unique dining experience than for the food. There are no tables/chairs here; you stand at a bar and eat your food. Even with standing room only, there is only space for about 10 – 15 people so it is pretty cramped inside. That makes it less enticing of a place to eat if you’re driving from a decent distance away since you never know if there will be space or not. When you walk in, you order from the iPad attached to the wall on the left. After you order, you find a spot to stand and then the employees behind the counter will call your name when your order is ready. The food doesn’t take long to come out. Everything seems prepared in containers already; all they have to do is put it all in a bowl(that’s what it seemed like to me). The food itself isn’t great though; it’s just average. I can’t eat pork so that left me with one option. I believe it was some sort of thai chicken ramen. First off, the soup was barely warm. I would have preferred it to be a bit hotter. The noodles themselves are nothing special. I’m not a ramen expert so I don’t know if the noodles really differ from place to place, but to me this was at the same level as the packaged ramen noodles. As for the flavor and the chicken; it was also decent. My friend that I went with said she prefers the flavor of the packaged ramen noodles(she ordered one of the standard pork ramen bowls). Average food overall at a relatively high price tag. Like I said earlier, it is just a unique dining experience that is definitely a one time thing for me.

I can’t really remember the names of the different soups and the appetizer that I had but i remember vividly the tastes, sight and smells… plus i took a picture so that helps too. Their main meat, either brisket or pork belly is wonderful, completely perfect and smokey. The legendary broth however I found to be lacking, i’ve made better at home but I know nothing of preparing asian food aside from eating it. The noodles were good but nothing particularly special. The soup was very good but not worth all the hype. One dish i had did not have soup in it and it was very fishy, not really my cup of tea. I am no ramen expert but I do know food pretty well. lol This place is a wonderful alternative to fast food but not so good that i will be back because I live outside of town so when i come to dallas i want something superior in flavor.

I went here with a couple of girlfriends because we most of us have not tried this place yet. My friends always talk about this place and I’m not really a ramen person but man, it lived up to the hype. I got the Tonkatsu ramen. Flavorful, perfect for a cold night. The place is really small, you stand as you eat. Ordering is easy because it’s on an iPad and it also includes tipping if you wanted to tip. I would definitely recommend this place and I already have. I didn’t have my phone on me but was disappointed because I couldn’t take any pictures of my ramen or the place. But that’s okay because there’s always next time and I plan on coming back soon!

Finally made it here! Me and a couple friends made it out on a cold Saturday night. So the the already small restaurant was packed with customers waiting for a taste of ramen. For the first time goers, like myself, no one takes your order. Ordering is made easy with the use of iPads. The menu/order tool is very user friendly. Order, entering your tip amount, and swipe the card. I don’t recommend using cash as it convenient. Now you find a spot to stand and get your order. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen which includes nori, bamboo shoots, picked ginger, and an egg. The noodles were cooked perfect. It had just the right amount of bite. The broth was rich and full of flavor. Oh man and the chashu was good. Great experience! I’ll be back for sure!

I’ve been here a couple of times now. Big fan of the ordering system, but would recommend going at an off-peak time for your first time. Its a little daunting to have a lot of people waiting for your spot while you are trying to enjoy your meal. I’ve had the tonkotsu ramen both times and just add a poached egg to it… along with garlic, chili oil and white pepper thats out on the bar. Am looking forward to coming back here and trying their specials.

I feel so stupid for hesitating to coming here even though my bestie told me many many times that I should go here. Well last night, my friends had no choice but to drag me here. I gotta say I was super IMPRESSED. From the setting to how professional they are at this ramen place. First of all, before coming here, I already ate ramen at Tei an, hearing that this place owner is the same as Tei an, my expectation was set pretty high. Despite that, this place blown me away, STRONG. My friends recommended Mazemen, so I ordered that. I also ordered their newest addition to the menu, Butter Ramen. After having my first bite, there’s nothing can compare. All of my previous experiences at different ramen places just got deleted from my mind. Everything was very well seasoned, the level of spiciness, the sweetness, everything was perfect. To me, mazemen is a perfect bowl for hot summer nights, and their butter ramen cured me from the cold of these winter days. Their charsiu is on another level, it melts in your mouth. Overall this was a pleasant surprise, 10⁄10 would come back.

A stand-up ramen bar that fills up quickly. You make the orders at the computers by the door, and listen for your name when your ramen is ready. You pick the basic bowl you’d like, and add any additional ingredients for $ 1.50-$ 3 per add-on. Each basic bowl starts at $ 10-$ 15 before add-ons, so it’s slightly expensive. There is no seating area, and you dine at the bar, where you watch the chefs make each bowl right there. It was a unique experience, and the ramen was top notch. I had the spicy lobster miso, which, coming from someone who doesn’t have much tolerance for spice, wasn’t very spicy. The broth was somewhat sweet, but savory. I appreciate that they made it under-spicy, and leave chili spice at the bar for you to add to your liking. You can request ghost chili spice from the cooks, which they keep behind the bar. I wasn’t brave enough to try it, but my boyfriend loves spicy food, and really seemed to enjoy it when he added it to his pork maze-men. My friend had the shoyu ramen. We were all very satisfied with our bowls. Mine was rich, and had a good amount of lobster in it. Tastiest ramen I’ve had in Dallas, if you’re willing to pay that much for a bowl of ramen and stand while eating. I found it worth it!

I don’t have a whole lot to add beyond what the other helpers had. This is my favorite Ramen I have consumed to date. What I liked: the limited menu because I’m bad at making a decision when given too many choices. Adding the poached egg(mouth watering thinking about it) and a little glass of beer accompany the delicious Ramen. Tip: standing only but they do please the ladies by having purse hooks under the counter And when you’re done? Head next door for a banana and Nutella crêpe!

Very cool spot, creative concepts, but the ramen is a little mediocre. maybe it’s cause I’ve been spoiled by all the good ramen spots we have at home in LA, but something was different in the soup. FOOD: The Tonkotsu is usually my go-to when I go to new ramen spots. The presentation is nice and includes all the key ingredients. but something was off in the flavor of the broth. It was so ginger-heavy that I had to put a lot of garlic and hot sauce to even it out a little. The Shoyu is pretty good. The soy-based broth had great flavor that went well with the ramen and chashu. The Pork Maze-Men is very unique and had an interesting flavor. It’s a dry noodle dish(no soup) with diced pork and a poached egg. This was probably my favorite dish. AMBIANCE: Small, hipster restaurant that’s standing room only. No tables and chairs, just several table counters inside and outside the restaurant. SERVICE: You order and pay on the iPad(Debit/Credit Card) and wait for the cook to call your name. The main cook seemed a little stern but was actually very friendly in greeting all the customers he served. The other guy working there, however, was kind of rude. We arrived about 5 – 10 minutes before the restaurant actually opened and just looked and waited till they were ready. This guy gave us this sarcastic«what the heck are you doing here» look. Chill bro, we’re waiting patiently! TIPS: Go for the Shoyu or Pork Maze-Men.

Love the concept! Order on an iPad, eat standing at the counter, and give the chefs your dirty tray when you’re done. I had a dry ramen bowl for the first time, mazemen, and it did not disappoint. The eggs and diced pork gave it a very nice texture. I sadly couldn’t finished it because they made mine too peppery. My boyfriend had the pork clay pot(ramen of the day), such he liked a lot.

I just got finished eating a bowl of ramen at Ten. The golden pork broth coats and washes my mouth, esophagus and belly. It swims down the Mandela of my enteric system like a magic eel. Ramen always eases me when I’m sick or having a bad moment. At tens twelve foot counter space I struggled staying upright after a night of boozing in Bishop Arts. «Do people ever complain that there aren’t any chairs?» I asked the wonderfully friendly and bright ramen cook. «All the time.» No chairs, no to go, no bathroom inside, no cashier(you pay at an iPad station.) I arrived at 1130am right when it opened. Perhaps still buzzing from the night before I groggily punched in my order, tonkutsu ramen, add pork, $ 13. No fountain drinks. There’s a water cooler, beer, sake, and bottled sodas. The unapologetically independent style of Ten Ramen’s set up might not feel loving, but it pays in its rich broth. Bath in it. I’m no ramen expert but their bowl is as good as I’ve had in Dallas. If you’re too short to reach the counter, they have step stools. Go early to avoid the crowds, the counter was filling up as I left right before noon, and go with some steady balance if you don’t want to fall over, and a little endurance in general to jump through all of the logistical hurdles in eating here. It’s worth it.

The hype is real guys, this place is delicious! The idea of ordering on an iPad is actually similar to the way many ramen places are overseas so don’t hate on something that’s the norm elsewhere. My only complaint about the place is the super hard to find location. Talk about a confusingly designed plaza. If I wasn’t told ahead of time that it was near the huge MARKET sign I probably would have given up especially since it was raining the day I went. The bowls look small but there’s a lot of food there because the bowl is so deep. I tried the tonkatsu, shoyu, and the spicy maze-men. The tonkatsu was beautifully flavored and piping hot just like ramen should be. I usually complain that my bowl isn’t complete without corn in it so I was ecstatic to see it as an option when ordering. I only tried a bit of the shoyu because I’m slightly allergic to soy but it was so delicious I wish I could eat more. The broth wasn’t overly rich at all. But next time I come in I’m definitely getting a bowl of the spicy maze-men for myself! It had a nice comfortable heat to it and as a person that obsesses over instant migoreng ramen, I instantly fell in love! Shout out to Matthew aka Urkel on his super successful business, sad me and Joseph missed you on our visit but we’ll be back! Also hello to the Lambda who made our food haha, thanks dude!

Wait time– Came on a Saturday night at 630 pm with 4 people and there was absolutely no wait. But if you come any later, it’ll start getting packed. Room fits around 15 people and they have outdoor seating as well, but it cycles through pretty quickly. Food — What really stole the show for me was the chasu don! The rice was super tasty and the flavors were all on point. I had to fend my friends off my bowl by continually shoveling the rice in my mouth. We figured out that they add a good amount of butter(oil maybe?) to the rice to give it that rich flavor. Good choice Ten — can’t go wrong with more butter. Service — ordering with the tablet made life a lot easier! Less waitress-customer interaction, which made my introverted self happy. Overall, good food and interesting concept of standing while eating. Will definitely be back when it gets colder!

Ramen… check. Great taste… check. Quick service… check. Unique style… check. There’s nothing left to check!!! TENRAMENOUTOFTENWOULDRECOMMEND! :D Came here for dinner with some pals and took a while to actually locate the restaurant. It is located under a set of staircase and can be somewhat inconspicuous. Keep searching though, cuz you don’t want to miss this. The cool thing about Ten Ramen is that there is no seating. That’s right, you eat standing up. The place is laid out such that you are staring at an open kitchen and there is a platform where you will receive your food. You order your ramen on an ipad on the side, and then watch it get made by the people behind the counter. When they are done, they instantly serve it to you and you eat it right there. One thing… it can get a little crammed if lots of people are there, but for the most part, it should be ok as long as everyone is space conscious! I ordered the spicy maze-men with added bok-choy. It is a dry noodle(no broth) but I loved all of it. Each bite was pure ecstasy in the most pleasant way possible. I ended up devouring my meal within 15 min, and really wished I could relive each moment as I stared at my empty bowl :(. My dish got a tinge of spiciness that adds an interesting flavor to the ramen. The egg, bokchoy, some celery, and dried seaweed provided some good extra taste. The meat was really well cooked, and overall a great combination of carbs and meat. My friends’ Tonketsu and Shoyus were also well prepared. They were broth ramen, so really depends on your mood if you want something dry or broth-y. Look no more, try out ten ramen today!!! maybe for your next meal!!!
