What’s this? Another taco spot that’s also a food truck? Brilliant. First off, let’s line up the competition for a point of reference yeah? The Local Champ(5 Stars) — Velvet Taco: The Rival Truck(3 Stars) — Rock and Roll Tacos: The Other Rival Truck(3 Stars) — Ssahm: If you don’t want to read any further? Taco Party is better than Rock and Roll but still miles away from Velvet Taco. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? It’s a food truck, so it’s not like there’s ambiant lighting and Japanese soba chefs throwing knives around, but Taco Party does do a good job with the atmosphere. Unlike other trucks, you’ve got a nice man out front who will take your order and relay it to the kitchen, which, while maybe a bit odd, doesn’t make it feel like you’re on the witness stand as is sometimes the case with other trucks. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? For $ 3.00 each, I snagged these two beauts: Good size and good price. Well bigger than Rock and Roll’s tacos(which were $ 2.50 each), but not quite as large as Velvet’s(which were roughly $ 4). About the same size as Ssahm’s Kimchi Tacos(which are also $ 3 each): Rock and Roll Tacos: Velvet Tacos: Ssahm: Fair prices for good portions. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? First and foremost? The shell. I’m can’t say for sure that they’re freshly made in house, but the corn tortillas in particular were excellent. The flour tortilla slightly lesser so, but all in all the tortilla aspect of Taco Party is spot on. As for the filling, this was a tale of two tacos. The brisket taco was pretty good, although personally I would argue that the emphasis was a bit on the onion straws as opposed to the actual brisket. Either way, the barbecue sauces brought it all together and I enjoyed the taco. Now, the special, the Americana, was pastor with green chili and sour cream, and this was amazing. Great filling ratio, great ingredients, and a great taco overall. Taco party has a diverse menu, and they do a great job putting care into their craft. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? So, like I mentioned, these are great tacos that I preferred to both Ssahm and Rock and Roll tacos, but they fall short of Velvet’s mini meals. For that reason, I can’t say I would go regularly. No Star Granted.

Steak and Fries taco was really good. Great customer service, I felt that the owner appreciated all business and even let me order and while I was picking out some booze in the liquor store. Nothing really unique about this food truck that makes me want to come back, but the tacos were pretty cheap and delicious.

Got to sample some tacos from these guys at the RUN4: JUSTICE5K in Grapevine, which was cool. The chorizo and egg taco is fairly good and the salsa on top is refreshing and has some spice. All breakfast tacos are $ 2, which is average considering the size(kinda small). But I’d definitely try them again.

Loved the value and the flavor of Taco Party! Tacos were 2 – 3 dollars which I found to be very reasonable, given how big and filling they were, There was even a special for 7 dollars(more later). I could hardly eat more than 2, but I did eat 3 because out of the kindness of his heart the gentleman knocked on my car window with a taco plus a churro in his hand for me to try, on the house! I visited Taco Party at the lonely Ambassador Row Food Truck Park(Mockingbird &35) to grab a quick bite. I tried the Brisket w ancho bbq I think and It also had crispy onion strings, it was superb! Next I had the puerco or pork to you gringos, with a verdge sauce also very tender, filling and flavorful! As I sat and ate them in my car I got a knock on my window and a fish taco with a delicious relish with a fine tropical fruit and acidic vinegar aftertaste, fantastic! I loved the texture to all of the tacos. The churro was also highly AMAZING, moist, hot and crunchy all in one. Would love to have more, I thought the value was good for 7 dollars, I got any two tacos, rice and beans plus a drink, I don’t know many other food trucks that offer that good of a deal.
