THEWORST!!! I wish I could speak about the food, however we never got to try it. We walked in and grabbed a booth on what seemed a rather slow night. We were passed by employees time & time again. I went to use the restroom & on the way, I saw a waitress and asked if we could get a menu. I explained we had been waiting for about 20 mins & still had not been greeted. I was sure this was an oversight & tried to make it clear we were not angry, just hungry. When I returned to the table I was told by my friends that no one had yet been by… despite my plea to the waitress. It was at this point that I decided to go to the bar and ask for 4 waters. I was given them after a bit of attitude, for some inexplicable reason. Seriously, attitude for asking for some water. At a bar. Literally, the easiest drink to make. When I returned to the table, I saw what looked like a vagrant in pajama pants w/a dirty rag on his head at my table speaking belligerently to my wife and friends. I put down the waters & quickly realized, NO! This guy works here. WOW! As I sat the waters down I asked if we could see menus. It was met with«Who’s Red Bull is that!?!»(it was an empty can I was hoping to ask the waitress that never came to dispose of) I replied. «Mine, but it’s…» before I was cut off. «We have rules here & you people seem to think you can do what you want.» The man barked. «You come in here break the rules & just seat yourself, then you demand water & service, I think it’s best you leave.» As we gathered our things & made our way toward the door we tried to explain we didn’t know we were breaking any rules & didn’t know we had to be seated. The man in the Pajama bottoms then told us we were«Liars!» and that the sign was visible, even though it was at knee level on a end table type stand, NOT a hostess station. Not to mention, we waited when we first arrived & were ignored. So we assumed we should seat ourselves. That is not all. When I returned to my hotel, I looked for them on twitter to express my concerns in the hopes that the manager would see this & take the steps to repair the misunderstanding. I was mistaken. I was informed(through twitter) the the«guy in the pj’s owns the place!» & «that’s what happens when you seat yourself and bring in outside beverages». Looking through their Unilocal & twitter, my experience us not unique. The owner seems to lash out at anyone who is not lavishing him with praise. Again, an empty can of Red Bull set this man off so bad he felt it necessary to belittle & embarrass my party in his dining room & out in to the busy sidewalk. Beyond anything I have ever experienced before. My next trip to Dallas, I will avoid Deep Ellum all together, not my cup if tea. When in Texas, I’m looking for southern hospitality, not to feel belittled & mortified. From now on, I’ll stick with the hotel. I simply won’t risk the embarrassment again. ***UPDATE**** You again have proven your childish behavior. It won’t be long before you are out if bushiness. You offer an $ 8.99 all you can eat low rent buffet. You walk around in pajama bottoms and you accuse me of only eating in food courts. The balls. There was no server stand. It was as described in my original review. Reading through your other reviews, you are consistent. Anytime anyone has a negative comment, you attack them. You see it review after review. You are childish and a bore. After reading your reviews & speaking with your neighbor businesses, it’s more than clear that you are a sub par pizza place with a prime location. Think CiCi’s with a bar. You are a spiteful little man unable to handle the slightest of criticism. I was told you use frozen product & try to pass it off as fresh made. You will not last much longer. People like you always fail.

Deep Ellum is a hotspot for bespoke cuisine in Dallas. After reading a review from the Dallas Observer about a «grown up pizza buffet», I wanted to try Stonedeck. I’m usually down for pizza, but I’m especially down for a pizza buffet, which included a salad bar, mac and cheese, turkey sandwiches, and — of course — a couple of pizza pies. The service was prompt — albeit the restaurant was almost empty. There’s a full bar, and a cool little space out back that seems quaint. I loved the kale salad(so good!), and the turkey and provolone sandwiches on pita bread(so good!!) were an excellent companion to their ‘the Special’ and ‘roasted vegetable’ signature pizzas. Stonedeck knows how to cook up a mean buffet. I’ll be back when I’m 21 to try the moonshine??!

So who doesn’t like a pizza buffet. For lunch. On a Friday. Hoping this wasn’t going to be a Cici experience, I found free parking nearby and headed in. First thing to catch my eye(other than their Moonshine menu that I can’t do because I have to go to work afterwards) was Crème Soda to drink. Got one. The Pizza Bar isn’t huge but it’s nice: a big bowl of «greens» to make your own salad, kale salad, pasta salad, roasted Brussel Sprouts, MacNCheese, sandwiches, green bean casserole(?), pizza pinwheels, and a constant stream of fresh pizzas rolling out of the kitchen almost constantly. Not bad for a lunch buffet.

Come for the chicken tikka masala pizza. Stay for the moonshine flights. Hit up a show afterward.

I really wanted to like this place but man did it disappoint. Checked out the lunch buffet today and I can say it was maybe one of the worst buffets ever. The pizza… just blah. No taste or flavor and the crust… I’m all for thin crust and such but this was so crispy and burnt. The other options were much better… soba noodles ekkk! I am not sure on actual price… I think it’s like $ 10 or such. Waste! I left absolutely hungry. If you want to offer lunch buffet that is great but at least provide edible food. And this wasn’t at end of service… it was in middle of lunch.

First off… the pizza. OMG! We ordered a flight of pizza… Chicken Tikki Masala was amazing, the Meat and Meat with Meat was delicious and the Guapo En Fuego was flavorful but extremely spicy… but if you like hot then get it! Secondly the flights of moonshine were fun. Of the 3 flavors I had the dreamscicle(sp?) was the only one I liked. But there are sooooooo may moonshine flavors to choose from. Last, but not least, they have a decent beer selection… good on the local craft side too. I tried a new local brew I had never tasted and am on the hunt for it at the beer store… might be my new fave! The bartender was awesome and the staff is friendly. I will be frequenting this place as much as I can!

Never did I ever try the pizza pies this place dishes up… but they get an A for effort; it was all because of that damn moonshine. Wait, it should be E for effort, right? Anyways I had the Moonshine flight which came with 3 shots of moonshine with the flavor of your choice – they could’ve easily been double shots but let’s stay on topic. We tried one Blackberry, which was COLD. I say cold in reference to unappetizing; It tasted like a «Robitussin Sunrise.» Next was coconut. Meh, we’re getting warmer. Now… the Pecan Pie is what drives this review home. HOTHOTHOT! That bad boy was so smooth it almost made me want to try it a la mode. Then, I remembered I was at Stonedeck and NOT Emporium Pies. The ambiance was perfect on a beautiful Saturday for afternoon drinking. Moonshine, Oklahoma State Football on the tube, and a game of Connect Four made for the most sensational outing!

I really hate having to update reviews like this, but after the response my boyfriend(Doug, whom I live with) and I got I feel like I don’t have a choice. As you can see in my previous review, I found the food to be really good the first time! Their signature pizza is totally fantastic! I figured if their signature spicy was that good, that I would get my boyfriend(we live together) to try it and we’d order a few different types. This time, we got a signature pizza and a BBQ chicken one. Signature Pizza: 8⁄10 a little soft(after being in the delivery bag), but still super good. I nuked it for a little while and it was fine, really love that there is a pizza out there spicy enough for me. Sadly, because of the BBQ chicken pizza I wound up having to share mine. BBQ Chicken Pizza: 2⁄10YIKES! How could the place that creates my beloved arabiatta pizza create such a monstrosity! Where my pizza was cooked, this one was raw and we wound up having to cook it extra time in the oven. The cheese tasted plasticky and though the chicken wasn’t horrible, it was still cold and sitting on raw dough(that first bite is hard to forget). After we put it in the oven for a little(about 20 minutes) it was okay, but nothing to write home about. Customer Service: 3⁄10 So I’ve ordered from them a few times now. I ordered via the Unilocal delivery service and didn’t have a problem with it until— We brought up the issue of getting raw pizza and we were told that it was all the delivery guy’s fault. We got told that plenty of OTHER people LOVE their pizza and that it’s a shame we didn’t(WEDID! WEDIDLOVETHEIRPIZZA! Look at my previous review stating how much I liked their pizza! Just this one time the pizza didn’t arrive right). We were told that if we had ordered through THEM and not the service they offer through Unilocal(how dare we, right) then it would have arrived correctly. I felt like we were being passive aggressively berated for not understanding their partnership with the third party delivery service(why would we? Is there a chart somewhere that I missed) and then blamed for raw pizza because we used it. I feel as though a polite explanation as to what happened and an apology for RAW pizza(not sure how the delivery guy managed to uncook it, but hey) would have been better than a terse response and a tacked on, «lots of OTHER people LOVE our pizza so sorry-not-sorry for your raw mush!». But hey, what do we know, obviously nothing. Bye bye arabiatta pizza, you were amazing, but I’m not looking to get lashed out at AGAIN because something wasn’t perfect(above is the second time I had a service issue. First time was a cold an angry response when I called to check on an order. I was being friendly about it, there was no need to get so upset just because I was curious about the wait time on a delivery).

Worst BBQ chicken pizza ever. Raw onions and uncooked Dough. With a disgusting mix of pulled chicken that I think they sell in a plastic tub at the grocery store with very poor tasting cheddar cheese and the raw onions on top of gooey uncooked dough… This was also after a 9 $ delivery fee… Broken down into 4 different parts including a «delivery fee» a «processing fee», tax on the delivery fee and the last one was cut off on the receipt. How much does it cost to process a pizza delivery… Really… If it costs you 9 $ to deliver a terrible undercooked pizza maybe you shouldn’t be in the pizza business… *edit This is for the person who commented, this was not steamed dough… It was raw under/uncooked dough I was able to scrape off the pizza and roll into a ball. That is raw dough. I put the pizza in the oven for an additional 20 minutes after it got here. I know what raw dough is. This was raw.

We had a sampling of moonshines, some pepperoni rolls, and a few different types of pizza. It was a great snack while we were out having a few drinks around Deep Ellum. Great find — I’d definitely be back.

The atmosphere/bar is pleasant. This place is basically the Hypnotic Donuts of pizza. The pizza is surprisingly filling for being thin crust. Pizza flight gives you a lot of versatility and was a great way to differentiate from other pizza in Deep Ellum. Overall, the pizza is probably 3.5 stars, but overall the venue gets 4 stars due to phenomenal beer/liquor selection and an innovative idea with the pizza flight.

I love this place. The music is great! The pinwheels are my favorite, next to the great beer selection, awesome bartenders, $ 8 flights of house infused hootch. Great music, with Open mic every Thursday. Definitely one of my favorite places in Deep Ellum. When it’s nice out, go through the back to the patio. You’ll find some awesome games, picnic tables and more friendly people. One of the warmest and most welcoming places in Dallas. Have never taken anyone there who didn’t agree!

A dear friend who I went to high school and college with opened this spot over a year ago in Deep Ellum. Lucky me. He feels like a sort of brother to me, we fought some when we lived together, but I treasure him as a friend, and he knows me. Stonedeck Pizza pub reminds me of him, some tiny superficial flash,(moonshine and a comic book mural) a lot homey with wood floors and wood booths, reminds me of his tenure at Double Daves in college. It’s nice to be able to bike 5 minutes down Main Street from downtown and see my friends smile and to have his ear. I like to go on Wednesdays for the half price wine. I like to order a bottle. His business is family run, and I’ve come to know his wife, his daughter and his real and friendly bar staff, some of which used to be regulars. It’s a simple straightforward recipe that creates a clean hang outable spot. It’s like my cheers. The patio is large and feels secluded with a good view of the downtown skyline. Good local bands play here throughout the week. You can order an individual customized topping slice for around $ 4 or get half and full square shaped pizzas. Food served until very late Open from lunch until 2am every day

What a great place to grab a bite after a show any time during the week. We were really bummed that so many places were closed after 10pm in Deep Ellum on a Tuesday, but I get it, it’s a Tuesday. We saw this and the karaōke blasting out the door and thought, «why not?» First things first, the interior is very nice. The ambiance is great and made it easy to figure out where I was going despite being a little bit tipsy. Plus I LOVE karaōke. I usually don’t participate, but I love watching others so this really made the environment awesome for me. We were seated quickly and served even faster. Lots of good things on that front. Here is why they lose a star, the pizza is expensive. I assumed that since it was $ 6.00 for a slice that it must be a pretty big slice… I was sorely disappointed to find that it was your average pizza size. Good for my waist, but my eyes weren’t happy. I ordered the roasted veggie and my friend got the other vegetarian option that I cant recall the name of. The pizza itself was good. High quality ingredients and beautifully presented. But the crust is a little off, it’s kind of somewhere in between being a flat bread and being thin crust, neither of which I’m crazy about. I figure, at least there will be a nice chunk of crust since it’s so expensive. But alas. Honestly, a dollar less would’ve made me more comfortable since it is supposed to be gourmet. But I quickly learned that the $ 18.00 for what I’m thinking may be a small pizza is a much better deal and I will probably do that next time if I go. Either way, this is a great place if you are looking for a beer and some late night entertainment.

I can now say that this is my new favorite spot in Deep Ellum. This place has it all! Great local beers on tap, great service from Eric, great tasting iced tea for those during work hour lunches, and outside dining with a huge patio in the back with great bar games like Giant Jinga, Tic Tac Toe and CornHole! What more do you need? Oh yeah! Food! They have some great thin crust pizza. The pizza thickness I think is very unique. Slightly thicker than normal but just right! They pile on some really fresh, not your run of the mill toppings like, Roasted Pineapple, Smoked Provalone, Caramelized Onions, Spicy Marinara, Goat Cheese, Blue Cheese, Dressed Arugula and so much more! Toppings are $ 1 a pop if building your own so stick with the menu. Pizzas are not over priced for what you are getting. I will be coming back often, and I will be bringing friends and making it a happy hour!

It’s been a while since I tried out a new pizza spot in Dallas, and in the time since I’ve done so a million different spots have seemingly sprung out of the ground. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but Deep Ellum is officially now fully stocked if not saturated with Pizza spots. Within only a few square blocks you’re looking at city all-star Cane Rosso( ), long-time campy favorite Serious Pizza( ) and Stonedeck pizza. If you don’t feel like reading any further? Stonedeck Pizza Pub is worth your visit with an atmosphere that’s very much on par with Cane Rosso, but I’ll argue that their pizza falls just shy of their neighbors. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? While Cane Rosso feels more like a pizza factory of sorts quickly churning large groups and families alike through their establishment, Stonedeck has a more laid back divey vibe that you’d more associate with Deep Ellum. There are loads of good brews on tap and a dark but classy vibe more conducive to conversation than crying babies. As others have stated, it does take a bit of time to crank out a single or large pizza, and my single pie took the full 25 minutes that I was told it would. Just to keep in mind. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? My pictured«single» pizza could have very, very easily fed what would be two very content people instead of making one person(me) full to the point of being miserable. So under normal circumstances, this would have been $ 6.50 per person, which is entirely reasonable. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Pizza is, in many ways, extremely hard to get wrong, but it can also be exceptionally difficult to really knock out of the part. My Guapo en Fuego single pizza had some ups and downs, but I’ll break it down into digestible pieces. The Crust: Stonedeck Pizza Pub’s personal pizzas have thin crust, but there’s a bit of discrepancy between the firmness of it all. The edges are firm, but the crust in the middle is a bit soft and floppy, and certainly isn’t nearly enough to support the quantity of toppings. That’s not necessarily uncommon, but it makes these slices a two hand endeavor. Consistency aside, I will say that the crust flavor here was lacking a bit compared to some of the newfangled tasty crusts of the day. The Toppings: I have a pretty high heat tolerance, and a majority of the time when a server tells me that a dish is particularly hot I find myself disappointed. Not so much here at Stonedeck: this thing was fiery. There were peppers for days(too much really) on this pizza, and the spicy sausage turned this into a dish that required some milk: I liked it. Heat factor aside, these flavors came together nicely, with the unexpected cheddar mixing well with a chipotle base as opposed to tomato based sauce. There was one issue — the quantity of them. How it all came together: You’ll rarely hear me complaining about too many toppings, and that wasn’t the issue here versus the ratio of toppings. Cheese? Reasonable. Sausage? A bit light but nothing worth complaining about. Sauce? Just right. Having said all that, there was an absolute mountain of peppers on this pizza. a mountain. I picked off a particularly large piece of sausage and was truly impressed by the flavor, but every single normal bite of pizza I took tasted like I was eating nothing more than a spoonful of peppers. That’s a bit of a problem, and while I could have avoided the situation by asking for less peppers, the baseline should probably be a slightly smaller quantity. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Stonedeck Pizza is solid, but I can’t say it’s better than Cane Rosso, so for that reason, No Star Granted.

Pros: good atmosphere in a hip part of town. I liked the décor and the general ambience of the place. High quality craft beer selection and good service. Cons: the pizza. I shared the mega flight pizza with a friend for $ 24. Basically, it’s a double size pizza with 16 slices. You are allowed to choose up to 8 different types of pizzas with various toppings. Being that it was my first time here, i thought this mother of all sampling was the way to go. Where else can you taste 8 different types of pizza all on one gigantic pizza? Unfortunately, the pizza crust was bland and all the pizzas were only average. The Special K pizza had an overwhelming amount of stinky blue cheese which I normally like, but not warm on a pizza. The chicken tikka had too much cinnamon to where it tasted too sweet. And the Guapo was overtaken with Adobe and Chipotle. I liked the concept of the mega flight, but it just did not deliver. My other two companions who opted for the build your pizzas were also disappointed.
