Customer service here is the worst. I hope SMU eventually ditches this store. Or at The very least, I hope SMU students realize that they can get the same books online for a better price and with better service.

All things SMU Mustangs available here. If you need a sweatshirt, tshirt, polo, shorts, or jacket with SMU on it to show your Mustangs pride this is the place to go. A wide array of small gifts for family members and friends. Also, school supplies and books are plenty. Great place to browse.

I stopped in here the other day to grab a textbook for a paper I am working on this weekend. The staff was friendly and guided me to the section I was looking for. The prices are reasonable compared to textbooks on Amazon. While I love the convenience of Amazon Prime, I could definitely see myself stopping by for the occasion textbook or SMU apparel.

Didn’t realize it was a campus bookstore, since it looked like a retail store from the outside. Nice inside, but did’t buy anything since I had a 25% off coupon that could not be used at B&N College stores.

This location is very convenient. However, it is also attached to the SMU bookstore. This makes for a very busy staff. The staff, if you can find one, are very knowledgable. The selection here can seem a little limited! More often than not, I have been forced to check another location. All in all an okay location unless your looking to find something popular or peculiar.

The selection can be hit or miss. Just like declaring«Mission Accomplished» sometimes wishing for something hard enough just isn’t enough to make it happen. The book selection for non-course books, the right side of the store upon walking in through the front door, is meh at best. There is a small smattering of new-ish releases, a bucket of «super marked down» books nobody wants, and some other things that Mike S. aptly describes as the kind of books you would find at an airport bookstore. The clothing/memorabilia/tchotchke section due left is impressive and only seems to grow over the years — a decade ago it feels like I could pick a red shirt or a blue shirt and now this is just madness how many non-traditional colors you can find for your shirts, caps, and hoodies. A green mustang, really? That is one sick horsey — that must be what happens when you kiss a TCU student. The shopping centre has changed a lot over the years, as the last time I was shopping for course books here the Bush Library was a nasty rumor we all hoped would be a blight on the U of Dallas campus instead and not a real thing that was going to happen(and currently exists) — also Strombolis still served pizza on Hillcrest, Jack’s was still around to get hammered in, and Margarita Ranch was a classy place to get wasted before going into the Angelika. Things change … things do change. The eye candy does not, even if the eye candy might be an HPHS senior or SMU freshman shopping with mommy for a decent summer reading list.

For a bookstore that is associated with a university that prides themselves on being green, this Barnes and Noble is really doing the university a disservice. Apparently the customer is always right unless the customer does not want to waste resources and carry her regalia out of the bookstore in one, not two, plastic bags. The regalia was perfectly packaged in a plastic bag with handles, yet I was not allowed to leave the bookstore without double-bagging my regalia in a Barnes and Noble plastic bag. Most stores are happy to save the money and resources, but not Barnes and Noble. I was even scolded by multiple employees and made to look like a crazy person for needing ONLYONE plastic bag. This may seem trivial, but it was ridiculous and embarrassing and I thank God I am graduating from SMU this Saturday and won’t have to give any more money to this price-gauging establishment. $ 119 to rent my graduation regalia and turn it in within 24 hours of the graduation or incur $ 10/day in late rental fees. THE. WORST.

The store was clean and the textbook prices were comparably low. It was cheaper to buy from Barnes and Noble than Amazon, the trick being that I had to get a used book. The great new is, the book was clean — and I could thumb through it to be sure(unlike Amazon) — so it was a win for me. With Amazon deciding that free shipping means take two to three weeks to ship, I think I will head here more often. An added bonus is the Starbucks and restaurants in the plaza. It’s a great place to grab lunch while you are out getting books, if you can handle the insane parking lot traffic.

SMU book store is a nice place to find little unique items to help a person study. An example is a writing tablet that the law students have here. The front border is wider than the normal, reason being is when you go back over your notes, a person can shorten what was stated on the right side — so when reviewing for a test, review on the right and go into detail on the left. To smart! Now mind you, items here are a little more pricey, but worth it.

The SMU Bookstore also includes a Barnes & Noble that’s a cross between an airport bookstore and a regular B&N. The selection is surprisingly strong. During the week before Christmas, if I’m still lacking gifts while most stores are overflowing, I generally come here. The students are gone; passersby think it’s a college bookstore. Great, wide-open shopping.(Though I’ve come around to the theory that giving books as gifts is a bit like assigning homework.)

Is this Barnes and Noble, what I have, or is this the SMU Bookstore? I know it’s the SMU Bookstore, but it says Barnes and Noble Booksellers.
