I’ve been a client of Rubber Duck for five years now and have been very pleased with the service. The service provider prior to RDPC was highly erratic. Sometimes the pool was cleaned on Wednesday, sometimes another day. Rubber Duck has been consistent and dependable. There have been a handful of days in the last 5 years(maybe once or twice a year) where they had to change days due almost exclusively to weather. This was communicated to us ahead of time by Ed the owner. I’ve shopped the service and think the pricing was competitive. I recommend the service to others.

Terrible, rude, pushy service from the verbose owner, Ed and his crew. The cleanings by his staff were lackadaisical and spotty. There was always the«you need your filters cleaned» sales pitch every 3 months. When I questioned Ed, he bacame defensive and pushy. Expect phrases like, «hey man, my guys know what they are doing» when trying to get an explanation about why I need such frequent service. After the last filter cleaning, they left the tensioning spring off of the filter unit. The spring is nowhere to be found. I always use autopayment from my bank, but I would get a «hey man, you are delinquent and I need my money before we come out again» every 4 months or so because their accounting is questionable at best. They left supplies, chemicals after cleanings and other debris laying around. Emptying the skimmer equalled dumping the leaves 5 feet away in the garden and occasionally forgetting to put the lid back on the skimmer. So, don’t use them. The low cost is part of getting what you pay for. A pool cleaning company complaining to the customer that the pool is dirty and it takes them too long to clean is a sign that they want only the easiest jobs. Any real effort to do the job they were hired for is met with lengthy verbal resistance.

The owner is non-responsive and unprofessional. We were charged $ 100 for a filter cleaning in 1/14, and only 3 months later, we needed another one. The technician stated the filters needed to be replaced and suggested that they were not actually cleaned back in January by the previous technician employed by Rubber Duck Pool. Per his experience, he had never witnessed filters that dirty after only 3 months. I explained this to the owner, but he refused to admit that the January filter cleaning was either not done, or at least not done properly. In addition, he stated that I owed $ 100 for this filter cleaning despite no filters actually being cleaned. He stated I owed the money since his guy stopped by my house. So, I’m out $ 200 for 2 filter cleanings, one done half-ass at best and the other simply telling me I needed to replace my filters. I dealt with his lack of responsiveness over the last year because he was cheap($ 140/mo including tax). His technician mentioned that we are just one of many clients who are leaving the company due to the professionalism of the owner and previous technician.
