Really great place to eat if traveling through DFW in terminal D. The restaurant is located upstairs, overlooking gate D33, so you are able to enjoy your meal without all the foot traffic and people. The menu offers various options for reasonable price and I would definitely reccomend a burger and/or soup(the bowls are huge!). The fries were very tasty. order them well done so they stay crispy if you take them on the plane. The staff was very friendly and the server was excellent and made great reccomendations. There’s also multiple television up there.

quality choice at DFW. why not enjoy some good southwestern foood? if you have time, you should definitely stop here and enjoy a quiet meal away from the hustle and bustle. the restaurant is located on the mezz level of terminal D. I enjoyed the tenderloin tamales entrée! good service.

Food was priced very reasonable for an airport. Based on the other reviews, I selected the Tenderloin Tamales and I was extremely happy. Good flavor, but to my tasting I needed some hot sauce. The service was not very good. I could not find my waitress to get hot sauce and there wasn’t any around for me to get on my own. I would go again based on the food. On the plus side the Manager was around and talking to customers so it appears that they care about their customer’s experience.

Never eat at this place! Rude and disgusting staff! I’d give it less stars if possible! The manager did not seem to care. They will not accommodate you because«the seats you would like to sit in is where they make their money» and it was 70% empty! Vulgarity from the servers mouth was the worst part!

Really yummy fish tacos! Very reasonably priced.(Not like McDonald’s, but as far as a sit down restaurant with a full bar and real food, yes!) Monica was the sweetest and beat waitress I’ve ever had. She brought toast & watermelon for my baby and a cup of milk. So courteous. :) definitely coming back here when I pass through Dallas again.

Good place to wait out a 4 hour flight delay. Cushy chairs nearby, above the crowds so quieter than the main terminal below.

A very pleasant dining experience – especially for an airport restaurant. The upsatirs location takes you away from the hustle and bustle and offers great people watching. The tenderloin tamales were yummy as was the guacamole. our server Josh was efficient and cheerful.

I understand that this is airport food. It is possible that they were having a bad day. The staff was great if. The beer was flat. An unapologetic substitution was offered. I was not charged for the flat beer. The guacamole tasted prepared. The chips came out of a bag. They were not even kissed by a heat lamp. The signature tamales were bland(airport food – not unexpected, but sad). The crème fraich was on the outside of the husks. That was no great loss as it didn’t bring much to the party. The tamales were gelatinous. I’m used to the moist and just slightly crumbly tamales you can get anywhere in Dallas except the frozen food aisle.

I pass through DFW airport 2 – 3 times month and try to eat at Reata Grill when I have time. It’s in Terminal D on the upper level and had loads of good seating. They have a mix of Tex-Mex and American food and it’s all tasty. They have a decent breakfast menu and excellent lunch and dinner items as well. I have eaten all 3 meals at different times and have never been disappointed. I am a self-professed guacamole snob and there’s is some of the best I have had at any restaurant. If you like chicken fried steak, you will not be disappointed in the size or quality of the CFS at Reata Grill.

Dear sweet Jesus! A restaurant in Texas(and an airport) that has trained staff who understand allergy requirements(GLUTEN/WHEAT FREE). I’m giving five stars for that alone. *Please note the kitchen is not dedicated to gluten free so there may be cross contamination.

I have to give the server credit for speed. My wife and I were starving, and had ~30 minutes before we had to board a plane, and they managed to(mostly) get our food out to us in time to eat. I had the tamales, and my wife a roasted vegetable quesadilla. My tamales were hot, but if they had taste I wasn’t able to pick up on it. Not good taste. Not bad just. Just amazingly tasteless. I don’t think I can recall anything recently I’ve eaten that just had… no taste. My wife’s quesadilla came out after mine, and was so close to when we had to board, that we just packaged it up and brought it with us. They advertise gluten-free but do not have a dedicated menu for it. They do tell you what is gluten-free, and it’s a sizable portion of the menu. Short story, it’s not bad, it’s just… bland.

Existing reviews didn’t lie…3* it is. Tamales at the sauce over the husks… had to try and scape it off so I could eat it with the tamales… presentation was cute… but not practical… I wanted my sauce! The beans and rice were tasty and the service was fast… but it’s nothing to «write home about»…or in this case, write to out-of-towners about. It’s convenient and better than McDonald’s or fast food… but not much more than that. I was full, made my plane, and didn’t have stomach issues… that’s at least a win, right?

Had Bloody Mary, mimosa, sangria, chips and dip, tamale appetizer and spring roll appetizer. Salsa tasted like a basic sauce not like salsa at all. Didn’t have enough«zip» for us. Spring roll was ok a little on the mushy side. Over all good. Had great service from Cari the bartender! She was great!

The good: our server was friendly and quick(granted we were the only people here at 7am) and the view of the terminal is pleasant. The bad: $ 30 for a bland veggie omelette with a meager portion of potatoes and a side of bacon, cup of bad coffee, and a fiesta salad. I think the best thing we got was the Texas toast. If you have time to kill, incredibly low expectations of airport food, and don’t mind overpaying: this is the place for you!

Service was good, had the boneless chicken tenders(good flavor and excellent size), and the fish tacos. The taco plate came with rice and beans which were the highlight of the dish, the tacos were good, but were a bit plain without the provided sauce, which was not as flavorful as I felt it could be. Maybe I am just too used to fish tacos on the west coast and having several salsa options to choose from. Though the tacos missed the mark in flavor, it was a good, filling and quick meal in an airport. I will give them another try on a future layover.

The«saddle pack» is $ 11.90 and comes with a tamale and soup. This is the tenderloin tamale with pecan pesto and the tortilla soup with chicken, avocado and some jack cheese. Good stuff! 4 stars for airport food. Take the sky link to terminal D for this place and the other places at DFW.

What were we thinking? Or what were they thinking by serving that to us!!! Before heading back to Chicago, I joined two co-workers in a little dinner before our flight out of DFW. We were leaving from Terminal A, but someone had mentioned to me that all the best food was in Terminal D. We took the skylink from A to D and analyzed our options. After a couple failed attempts, we took the escalator upstairs to this establishment. The host was friendly and convinced us we would be in and out in 30 minutes(we had 60 before the boarding would start, so we had plenty of time). When we sat down at the wobbly table, I felt like I was in the mall food court. I wasn’t too concerned because this is an airport and I wanted to eat decent food, not worry about the uncomfortable chairs and lack of ambiance. The options were varied, so everyone found multiple options to suit our very different preferences. Before long, we had ordered chicken fried steak, their beef tenderloin tamales and salmon. We received exactly what we ordered, but it was awful! The chicken fried steak looked like something that someone chewed up and deep fried. The mashed potatoes on both that plate and along side the salmon were crusty and just disgusting. The salmon itself was edible and thankfully I asked for all of the sauces on the side because one of them, I couldn’t even stand to smell. The veggies were overcooked and flavorless. The tamales were hidden beneath a variety of toppings/sauces and it seems those were the only winners at that table. Service was decent, but the whole process took almost an hour for less than adequate food.

Service was good, but food was mediocre at best. If you are looking for a sit down place in the Austin airport I’d skip this one, you might be able to do better in fast food.

Great food! I had the tenderloin tamales. Having traveled to Mexico regularly for work, I must say these are the real deal. Great seasoning and the sofrito on top was a welcome addition. Also really enjoyed the rice and beans that came with it. I took a chance and ordered sangria, well worth the effort. Only complaint would be slow service, but not a huge deal for me today since I’m not in a hurry.
