Read Between The Lines

I stopped by here to get a gift for a friend. Mieka was a very friendly guy and helped me pick out the perfect gift. I really enjoyed the gifts in the store and the great customer service.

This is such a cute little gift shop in the middle of Victory Park! Perfect for picking something up real quick and everyone was very friendly!

I decided to write a review after my second visit to Read Between the Lines, a business I saw initially in D Magazine. What really pushed me to go in there was their great Instagram account! I was in on a Thursday around lunch time most recently, and they were surprisingly busy. When I first walked in, there were two friendly employees working, who were more than willing to let me get my bearings and show myself around. When I was ready to ask questions, their product knowledge was super impressive! As I was making my selections, they stepped out to lunch, and a person who I was assuming an owner (or at the very least someone who does their product selection) engaged me on what/​who I was shopping for. She again shared with me a lot of information about the products and their designers.
The selection in their modestly sized shop is so well curated. There are a lot of solid options without what I would consider is filler or ‘fluff.’ For example, they had just a few really solid types of candles instead of an overwhelming and oversaturated selection. I was able to shop for five different people and to get them all individualized gifts. Also, the owner (assumption!) told me where she selected some of her display pieces when I asked and shared we were moving. I am still kicking myself for not writing that down! What was most impressive was the individualized attention that everyone in the shop received despite the foot traffic.
If you’re in the market for unique gifts (or cards that range from heartfelt to hilarious) that will not break the bank, I’d recommend swinging by! Thank you RBTL! And if you read this, where did you get that furniture again?!

I literally walked out of this store an hour ago and I cannot stop smiling while looking at the adorable products I’ve purchased at RBTL!!! During my visit in Dallas, I exited my hotel to grab lunch and came across RBTL. The warmth and love that oozes just outside of the store while walking by, drew me in. The moment I walked in I was greeted by a beautiful soul and smile, Melinda. I believe she’s the owner of the store and she was just a joy! She was so engaged and interested in the products I was looking for. I am newly engaged and asked her for available products and ideas for my bridesmaids. There were so many beautiful items available that made me smile, laugh and even shed a tear after I held and read the item. The uniqueness of each and every greeting card cannot be compared to anything else. Everywhere I looked I would think «Ah, this is so darn cute!» I cannot express enough how kind and lovely and patient Melinda was during my visit to the store. Thank you so much! I hope to return to this area in Dallas and shop here again!

My fiancé and I love this brand of artwork and were walking by the store after it had closed just to window shop. The owner saw us peaking in, unlocked the door and invited us in like we’re were her own family. I have never experienced more welcoming and comfortable service from a business before. We found a piece we liked (as always) and will definitely be coming back for future visits.
