I personally have been in love with Florentine designer Emilio Pucci’s highly recognizable designs since I visited the boutique in Florence, Italy to purchase a scarf for my grandmother, and was instantly transfixed by the unparalleled quality and kaleidoscope of colors Pucci is known for the world over. So when Jen and I pulled into Highland Park Village to meet our friends Saboe and Kris for lunch, this was the first sign we saw and simultaneously gasped, then cried«Pucci!». Yeah, you might think that’s lame, but to us… good designers are everything. Like any other boutique, it’s an intimate and fashionable space, although this particular shop is pretty tiny, so there isn’t a whole lot of room to move about. Expect to receive prompt and professional attention when you arrive. Right away, I noticed the pink and fuchsia print dress that looks so much like my pink and and black swirl Pucci tie I plan on wearing to my brother’s wedding. They had so many richly colored scarves and accessories for the ladies, and the dresses gracing the mannequins were simply stunning. Based on his patterns and color selections, outfits by Pucci are perfect for the summertime fashionista. Select from(surprisingly extensive) ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, eyewear, and more. Although Emilio Pucci himself has passed away, his daughter. Laudomia Pucci, became Image Director, and fashion powerhouse Louis Vuitton-Moet-Hennessy Group owns roughly 2⁄3 of the company. What does this mean to you? The items in the boutique are the work of LVMH’s cache of extremely talented designers. These are the times I hate being a guy. There’s so much more out there for you ladies. This is also the time I’m pretty sure my parents were relieved I was born a guy, as my taste runs pricey enough; had I been born a female, I would have broken the bank by adolescence. Stop by Highland Park Village and see for yourself. Let’s get some more Pucci out on the streets, if anything because my eyes need something pretty to look at.
