Potbelly is good! Definitely go here when you’re in the mood for a sandwich made with love. The service is fast for breakfast and pretty steady during lunch. It can get very busy for lunch but the sandwich experts work hard to get you in & out. You have a lot of options: get white, wheat, or flatbread; make the bread skinny or keep all the hearty goodness; add extra meat or watch calories with the lighter menu. choice of different toppings and you must try the peppers at least one time. The salads are large and filling but I am not a fan of a ton of iceberg lettuce, other than that they are good and the potbelly vinaigrette is the best! I’ve indulged in the cookies and dream bars, oh the dream bars(drool). I get one thing for breakfast and it’s the ham, swiss, egg, & mushroom on flatbread with onions added and I am happy & ready for the day. If you dine-in, you can sit at their tables or take your sandwich to the seating area outside PotBelly. I suggest catching the corner table, if you can. Private enough where you’re not spotted so easily yet the perfect place to people watch.

So I just want to update my review of an event that correlates with this establishment. My manager got sick the day after my incident with this place. I had mentioned how much I liked the pineapple coconut smoothie. He had been tempted to try the pineapple coconut smoothie, and he did, and which he loved. However, he feel uneasy after digesting it but thought nothing of it, and next day he still felt ill and he had paid attention to the time of the even when it happened, that day after he was unable to finish his day at work and went home, and was out an additional day. He came back to me and said he should have listened after I told him what had happened and that I had walked away when I saw the incident in the back of the counter. Yes, education, education and education, and one or two fired can maybe help this poor establishment to salvage is poor reputation.

Potbelly has a reputation as being one of(if not the best) chain sandwich joints. And, it’s well deserved. I don’t review a lot of chains, particularly ones at large as Potbelly. But, the employees at this location(in the Renaissance Tower in downtown Dallas) went above and beyond. Everyone I encountered was ridiculously friendly. The guys making my sandwich offered suggestions which were appreciated. The entire restaurant was extremely clean, and I ate there during the lunch rush on a Friday afternoon. I frequently saw employees leave to clean the dining area. I couldn’t have been happier with the service. As far as the sandwich goes, I went with the big clubbie. This has a ton of turkey, ham, and bacon. The sandwich was nicely toasted, and the veggies were all fresh. The hot peppers actually added some heat, which was great. The bread had a nice crunch, but didn’t cut the roof of my mouth like some crunchy rolls can. The sandwich is packed full, it was quite a lunch. I would absolutely order this again. If you are in the area and want a sandwich for lunch, you absolutely should hit up this Potbelly. It may be a chain, but they treat their customers fantastic and the food was very good.

I don’t really have much of choice, but to be a fan. Why you ask. Because if I’m at work this is the closest Potbelly to the office. Potbelly is a chain, so it’s hard to say the sandwiches are different from place to place. Chain indicates it’s all the same ingredients(or at least should be). So this review is on this LOCATION’S SERVICE. What is a Potbelly sandwich without peppers!!! Answer: I never want to know. I enjoy Potbelly’s skinny sandwiches and their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies! Their shakes are a good treat too! PROS: 1) They keep the line moving. You can experience a slight hault at the sandwich prep station, but for the most part the bread guys do a good job during the lunch rush. 2) The tables and floor stay pretty clean, especially for the rush hour. 3) The food stays pretty fresh. Well as fresh as fresh can be for a chain. CONS: 1) The friendliest or shall I say more courteous employees are the guys that I have seen working the bread station. The others seem to allow however they are feeling personally reflect the service they give, not a good thing. 2) I would not encourage getting breakfast from here, IFYOUAREIN A RUSH. They are EXTREMELY slow(big emphasis on slow). 3) Beware if you don’t understand a faster talker. The ladies on the sandwich prep station tend to speak fast, and can leave you refiguring your order, especially once you have it made up in your head.

If someone says Potbelly, I might think of a few things. Obesity? Perhaps. An old-fashioned stove? Maybe. But mostly likely I will think of really boring sandwiches. There are several Potbelly location around town and even one within walking distance of both my home and office. However, when I think of a good sandwich, it’s not going to be Potbelly. The sandwiches here are bland, small for the price, and the selection is very small. This location particular in the Renaissance Tower also adds slow service to add insult to injury. I’ve stopped by a few times an my experience is always a disappointment. Everyone behind the counter is far more concerned with small talk banter among themselves than serving customers. Here’s my advice: Skip it.

I like potbelly sandwiches and the darker interior of their places. Almost makes you feel like your in a real restuarant… almost. The food is good for the price, the almost build your own sandwich, warm or cold. It’s a line up, gettem in, gettem out kinda place, but not to bad. If your in the area is a better bet then some neighbors.

Can too much Potbelly be a bad thing? I hope not. This place offers up a great lunch option in Renaissance Tower. Plus, the ever-friendly employees work hard to ensure the line is never too long. And they’re open until 5pm which is helpful for some later-in-the-day lunches. I will say, however, that I think their salads are good, but the chicken on the salad seems pretty low-grade.

In the tunnels below below Renaissance Tower. This place is awesome. At breakfast you can get a nice Bacon Egg Lettuce Tomato that really sticks to the ribs… or if you want something healthier you can get steel cut oats, which are very filling(beware the large size… you’ve been warned!). Don’t be deterred if there’s a long-ish line at lunchtime; they really get you through the line a lot faster than you would think possible. For sandwiches, you tell them what you want and they put the meat/cheese on the bread and run it through a toaster. On the other side someone else puts the vegetables on it. This place is known for some crazy-thin ingredients. Also you can get hot peppers(too hot for me) on your sandwiches, which a lot of folks like. They have a case of bottled beverages, or you can get a fountain soda. Cookies, shakes, ginormous pickles… whatcha want?! A bonus is that they have meat-free options such as salads, PB&Js, bagels.

An employee came up to me to take my order while I stood in line: PotBelly Employee(PBE): Hi, can I take your order? Me: I’ll have an Original. Can I get ½ roast beef + ½ turkey? PBE: So you want a Robo Turkey? Me: Say what now? PBE: Roast Beef = Robo Me: Uhm… ok… PBE: Want to get Big instead of Original? It’s only $ 1 more, and then I’ll get to call your order out as a BIGROBOTURKEY! Me: Ha! OK! PBE: *calls out to counter* ONEBIGROBOTURKEYONREGULAR! I added a little bit of kick and crunch to the sandwich by adding the nummy jalapeño chips. Combine the toasty bread, mayo, subtle provolone, smoky roast beef and turkey, and chips, and you get one warm, gooey, crunchy, tasty hot mess! It made me want to do a BIGROBOTURKEY dance as I downed the goodness! :) 3.5, since I would have preferred a peppery roast beef and turkey, with cheddar cheese, but rounding up, because they made me laugh. I’m still on the search for the perfect sandwich, but this was a good stop on the path to perfection!

I love the tunnels downtown. I know they get grief because there are not as many ground level retailers in downtown, but when it is raining or summer in Texas it is really nice to travel all around downtown under ground. It is also nice to come across a Potbelly while down there. Good sandwichs, great malts and I love the hot peppers you can get on your sandwich. I give them 3 stars only because about every 4th time I go there, they forget to leave off my cheese and have to re-make it. I used to think it was my fault but now I am so loud and clear about my lack of cheese that I have no idea how they keep messing it up

This location is in the basement of the Pyramid(?) office building, part of a vast underground array of restaurants and shops you would never know existed from the street. I used to work nearby so we went here regularly. Potbelly is a chain with character. They have lots of funny signs and things. Stuff like(paraphrasing) «working here is the most fun you can have, but we’ll pay you too.» They offer 7″ subs, any on the menu for one low price. You order your meat/cheese and bread combination with the first person who preps it and feeds it through a continuous oven. If you soup or milkshake, you order here as well so it has time to be prepared. On the other side of the oven are employees who add the toppings of your choice, wrap it and package it for dining in or to go. They offer a selection of premium glass bottled root beers and cream sodas, but also have fountain sodas and brewed iced tea(brewed from real loose tea.) They used to offer only these little squat cups for the fountain drinks that held maybe 12−16oz, and while refills were free, I like to take some with me back to work so I would skip getting a drink here and go across the hall to the restaurant there and buy a big iced tea from them. They finally now offer a large size cup as well. They have awesome desserts. They offer a brownie bar with multiple layers of gooey yummyness. Not quite a 7-layer bar I don’t think, but good. One of my favorites is their sugar cookie which is soft and moist and topped with large grain sugar crystals. My absolute favorite is their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies which are sold in large individual cookies or in a bag of little ones. I usually have to get both a sugar cookie for lunch and an oatmeal cookie to eat later. Potbelly doesn’t get a full 5 stars because I’m from the north where we had lots of sub shops and subs were always cold unless they contained meatball or cheesesteak. Down here, you are hard pressed to find anywhere you can get a sub that isn’t toasted in some way. I tried ordering my sub at Potbelly untoasted but was told that their bread is not fully cooked so that it is finished by going through the oven. Therefore to make a cold sub, they still had to toast the bread by itself which doesn’t result in the same thing. So the subs here are good, but i would like them better if I could get them untoasted.
