Phoenix Thera-​Lase offers 60min cold laser sessions to help heal injuries. While this type of stuff is often quackery, I swear to you, by everything I hold sacred in this world, that this laser does as they say and will reduce pain.
I’ve had chronic knee pain for years, and I’ve tried prolotherapy before this which didn’t help at all. I threw a ton of money at that and was soo disappointed when it didn’t work. When my personal trainer (Big Jim) told me about Phoenix Thera-​Lase, I was skeptical at best. But he swore by it so I thought I’d give it a shot. Knees were my big issue, but i also had them treat my thumbs which, don’t laugh, hurt from playing games on my phone. After session #5 my thumb pain was forever gone. The knee pain lingered. By session #7, we noticed that we could make the knee pain go away completely for about 24 hours, but the pain would always return. We did this a number of times. What this therapy has helped me to realize is that my knee pain is there for a reason… my toes being cramped in small box shoes causes over-​pronation which leads to the knee pain. I’m now on a quest to fix my toes. But the laser, as far as I’m concerned it did its job.
A few things to note: You’ll know the laser is really working when you feel this warm, tingling sensation where the laser is pointed. At each session we’d make notes on where those spots were, so that the next session would be even more efficient. On spots where there was no injury, I felt just about nothing from the laser, but you’ve got to really give the laser time to penetrate a particular area for it to work. If the laser moves from spot to spot too quickly, you won’t get much of a benefit.
Regarding specific people I worked with, Tamara is basically chief-​of-​staff in the office and is very kind and helpful. Raven and Hector are the two laser operators who’ve been there the longest and they’re both great. I worked mostly with Raven and have fond memories of my 1 hr a day 3x a week where we got to hang out while she zapped away the pain. Jake is newer but I enjoyed working with him as well. All of them have a strong background in kinesiology or physical therapy, so are quite knowledgeable.
That’s all I’ve got. I’m sure you’re reading this and are skeptical… If I could bet that you’ll feel a pain reduction I would. While most ppl only think to use something like this for chronic pain, the best really is for acute injuries. I’ve seen bruises fade so fast from this machine that you wouldn’t believe it.
