I wasn’t too impressed with dining at this establishment. Slow service to start with, we were at the table 13 minutes before being offered water. Water came and another 12 minutes went by before the server took drink orders. Not to mention he was going to grab bread which took another 8. So based on the slowness we opted out for appetizers and ordered our entrees. I asked for my bone in New York. medium it was more on the medium well side and for a Premier steakhouse I would have thought the cut would have been better, but it was very tough. Overall I think whataburger would have been better than the $ 268 spent here.

Been here a couple of times and really enjoyed the food and service. The main things you have to try are the calamari, the Brussel sprouts, and the pork chop. The calamari is nice, tender, and have good flavor. For the roasted Brussel sprouts craze, theirs are the best. Some places over roast and burn them. Then the pork chop… Holy Moly! It’s big enough to feed a small family of ten in a 3rd world country. It’s humongous! It’s the most juiciest and flavorful chunk of pig I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten a lot of pork, but this is the best. The only downside, my friend and I ordered oysters and thought it wasn’t shucked well. Sometimes I would swallow one and find a piece of shell in it. Other than the food, the service is also great. The waiters are very attentive and are willing to accommodate your needs.

2016 Unilocal 100 Challenge Review #21 I recently celebrated a birthday at Perry’s this past weekend. I made the decision based on my fellow Unilocalers ratings, so thank you Unilocal community. I made a reservation probably a week or two in advance. That process was simple enough and they called the same day of my dinner reservation to confirm. We arrived with a party of eight adults and two children for a total of ten. They were very accommodating because we had several musical chair moments due to the small children and we also had a wheelchair guest but they were great! We finally got settled in and our waiter began discussing the menu with us. We settled on several entrees and sides which are served family style and we all kind of shared. The main ideas: *** Salmon: very well seasoned, it was surprisingly delicious because its flavor was very apparent but not overpowering or overdone — loved it! ***Pork chop: who goes to Perry’s without trying that darn pork chop. Easily the standout! It comes in a special which includes a salad and a standard sampler trio dessert plate. The chop comes with apple sauce but I didn’t even try it because the chop was so good solo. I took this from their website to provide accuracy of detail on this bad boy! Although Perry’s is known for its butcher-fresh USDA-aged Prime beef, it is truly famous for its amazing seven-finger pork chop, a recipe perfected over three decades by the Perry family. Measuring seven-fingers high, the prime cut is hand selected, roasted, slow smoked and caramelized. It is then finished in the oven and topped with Perry’s Herb-Garlic butter before being carved table side. The carving process is something Perry’s takes very seriously, dividing the Chop into three main parts — the eyelash, loin, and ribs. Each server starts the carving process with the eyelash, the name Perry’s has given to the top portion found above what is traditional called the eye of the chop. This is the juiciest part, followed by the loin, which is carved second. Round out the trio of a dicers and delicious pork experience are the ribs; a fan favorite. ***Filet with jumbo lump crab meat — The filet comes with a choice of three options. In addition to lump crab meat, they also offer it with grilled prawns or a King crab. It was well prepared but I was more enamored with the salmon and the pork chop. It came with grilled asparagus which was great! ***Crab Cake — I only had a small bite but it tasted like the kind of crab cake I like, a favorable balance of crab and cake. Sometimes, the patties can be more breading than anything or the crab meat is poor quality. It was served with some garnish that was a welcomed compliment. ***Kids chicken fingers and french fries(I snagged a few fries and they were very good!) Supporting Information: ***Wedge Salad(standard nothing special but good) Soups: lobster bisque and french onion — didn’t try but both looked great ***Lobster Mac and Cheese — the way lobster mac and cheese should be! ***Creamed Spinach — heavenly, has a great flavor and body to it. Sometimes creamed spinach can get too much cream, this was great, I wonder if it had Parmesan cheese in it ***Grilled asparagus — good; nicely grilled; nice crunch Bread — above average but not great to the point where I could eat a loaf in lieu of the meal lol Finales ***trio sampler — vanilla bean crème brulée, grand marnier chocolate truffle and praline cheesecake; a nice, light but decadent option(comes with Pork Chop special); loved the crème brûlée and I am not a big crème brûlée-er. ***Cheesecake — it was okay not a show stopper Service was very good! I think the gentleman did a pretty fantastic job. We did not have to wait long for anything. He was informative and was able to provide good suggestions that paid off. We were presented with dessert trios for our birthdays which was nice. I would definitely come back. It would be nice to try their happy hour too! Our bill came to a little under $ 500 which I though was great considering the size of our party plus we had a bottle of wine. Highly recommended!

The irony of Perry’s Steakhouse is that I never come here for the steak. The shrimp and spinach salad — with warm bacon vinaigrette, crumbles of melty feta cheese, and the perfect hint of sweetness, drizzled over a bed of wilting fresh spinach. It’s heavenly. And hearty. The dish seems meaty even before you take a bite of the shrimp — juicy delicious jumbo shrimp. Each bite fills you up, yet makes you crave more.(And there really should be at least two more shrimp on the plate.) Porkchop Friday will always be a favorite event of mine. But now, to that, I’ll add Shrimp Spinach Salad, at the bar with a glass of Chardonnay — any day.

Perry’s place offers first class experience and the most expensive I have ever been tried. Their steak is their signature, so tender, perfectly seasoned and incredibly pricey. But, it is so worth it that I went home so satisfied. Portions and servings are huge so I guess you get what you pay for. Not to mention their sauce that comes with their dish, uniquely prepared and flavorful, a good choice to complement each dish. Filet Mignon and Fried Shrimp(served with your choice of french fries or sweet potato fries) is what makes me decide to come again.

4.5÷5. Only thing wrong was that our waiter didn’t know a whole lot about wine. Amazing food and service. Fair prices. Get the Mac and cheese. Perry filet was good. Pineapple mojito was good. Lobster bisque was amazing.

As a business man who regularly eats at some of the finest restaurants in the country this may be the biggest let down I ever encountered, now I also am a partner in one of this cities best known restaurants and eat often at high dollar establishments , Complaints … When I tell you it is my daughters birthday don’t put me by the wine room door, the waiter was non attentive to our needs and over all the meal was just so so at best … Every 3 minutes our conversation was interrupted by someone opening the door to retrieve wine My daughters soup came out cold… I was originally going to eat at the Palm but figured I be eaten there hundreds of times so let’s try Perry’s …Big Mistake I apologize about the formatting of this but am doing it on an iPhone … You want a good meal, go to Pappa Brothers Steakhouse This was just a huge letdown that I had to write about it, I can be reached at
One last thing, making someone pay 5 bucks to come spend 300 is a little on the cheesy side Just so disappointed you need to avoid this place

The pork chops here are unlike anything I have experienced. More like mix between a tender smoked briscuit and fine steak. Fantastic! Chipotle lime salad was also top notch

4.5 stars You’ve probably heard already that Perry’s is the place to sink your teeth into some quality meat. The first time, my friend came to visit from Hong Kong and I wanted to take her to experience some good Texas steak. We came to Perry’s and everything was perfect. We both got glasses of wine and shared the asparagus with crab meat. It was pretty tasty but the best part was the entrée. I got the 24oz bone in ribeye and my friend got the huge pork thing. I tasted hers but definitely preferred my beef. It was perfection. The best steak I’ve had since Argentina and in the U.S., it was on par with Mastro’s in LA. Juicy, tender, cooked just right. Dessert was some banana thing that was cooked at the table and really good as well. Overall, well worth the $ 100 we each dropped that night. The second time, I was all hyped up to stuff more beef into my mouth and got the tomahawk steak. This one is 22oz but comes with a bone in that extends about as long as my forearm. In theory, it should be better right? Not so much. The meat was still good but did not surpass the original bone in ribeye. I’d stick with the regular instead of their special tomahawk next time. Also, a whole bottle of wine was a bit much on a Friday night as I could barely stay awake to do anything afterwards.

4.5 Stars! Perry’s is a beautiful restaurant. Sunday evening was my first time dining at Perry’s but it definitely will not be my last. Began my indulgence with a Pineapple Mojito! Sooo delicious. For dinner I had the most amazing lobster tail & a side of mac n cheese, spinach & au gratin potatoes. The mac n cheese was hands down my favorite side. This restaurant is a little on the pricey side, so if you’re dining on a budget be sure to ask about their daily special. My parents both ordered the pork chop special of the day & it came with two complimentary dessert samplers, which included: cheesecake, crème brûlée(my fav out of the three… & I’m usually a cheesecake lover), & a chocolate truffle. Service was impeccable! Never had to signal our waitress or ask for a refill. Con: Dining tables are extremely close to each other. You can literally extend your arm & touch your neighbor.

Get the Pork chop! If you leave this place without trying the pork chop, you have failed! It is very large so I recommend sharing it. They carve it table side. Juicy and flavorful. The best pork chop I have ever eaten.

So yummy! I had the kabob with lobster, shrimp, and filet. It was delicious! Also, the lobster mac and cheese was scrumptious. The dessert was ice cream with white chocolate and flambéed almonds. I would go back just for this! We visited a similar restaurant in the same area the night before we visited Perry’s, and Perry’s was way better-by far!

Rating: 86⁄100 pts Perry’s is a great steakhouse alternative to the more nationally recognizable Morton’s and Ruth’s Chris, each of which also has locations in downtown Dallas. As apparent from the moment you walk in, Perry’s has class. The interior is darkened, and light jazz music fills the air. They don’t have a strict dress code, but most customers are dressed nicely. Expect to spend around $ 100 per person, including gratuity and maybe a few drinks. What to order? Here’s some items to get you started. Appetizers: Not on the main menu, but when I came they had a Cheddar-topped, Fish-stuffed Mushroom appetizer which stole the pre-entrée show. We also tried the Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimps were bulky and delicious, but with only 5 to an order for $ 16, it felt a little overpriced. You might be best going with whatever they have as a special. Sides: The Lobster Mac & Cheese was as wonderful as it sounds, coming with a fairly plentiful amount of lobster meat, and the cheese not feeling too heavy. This would be my first choice. House special Crab Meat-topped Asparagus was heavily buttered up and was a little too oily for me, especially considering the steaks also come topped with butter. I ordered this vegetable to seek refuge in between bites of more indulgent items, but its oiliness prevented that. Meat: Their steak cuts are fantastically done. I tried the ribeye and added the sauce trio. However, the steaks come already lightly flavored with salt, pepper, and garlic butter, and the meat is good enough quality to not need anything further. Next time, I’d order it without the sauces and purely savor the steak meat. Their signature Pork Chop dish is awesome as well. Extremely plentiful, even if here for steaks, I’d push at least one person from the table order it, as it’s worth trying and there is enough to share a bit here and there. It comes pre-chopped, and the waiter tactfully explains in what order to eat each cut while slicing it down into edible form. Desserts(Large and heavy; get 1 per 3 people): Their desserts were still good enough to enjoy despite being completely full. The most well-balanced and in my opinion superior dessert was the Rocky Road Bread Pudding. Not too sweet, this monster has enough going on within the pudding alone to stay interesting, but the giant toasted marshmallow on top made for a great combination of textures. The Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Bar was as guilty as it sounds, and almost too sweet for even me. The flaming desserts are also an interesting spectacle. In hindsight, I’d probably get one of these and the Rocky Road. I would place Perry’s slightly above your average $$$-level steakhouse. It’s a great part of the downtown Dallas food scene, and I would come back.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had and our service was nothing short of stellar! We never waited long for anything including refills. The appetizer we got was the asparagus. I’m allergic to shellfish but my husband is not so they put the crab meat on the side. The asparagus was delicious on its own, but my husband said the crab/butter was amazing! It did make me wish they did a similar butter without the crab meat because I could tell by the smell it really added to the dish. My husband orders their famous pork chip dinner and he raved about it! It smelled delicious and the tastes I had were wonderful! I ordered the chateaubriand and it was delightful. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Our side dish was the brussle sprouts which we both loved bit harsh ate because we loved our meals so much! For dessert we had the Bananas Foster and it was delicious! We will certainly return when we are back in Dallas. This place puts other chain«steak places» to shame both with wonderful service and delicious food!

I’ve tried a few of the upscale Steakhouses in the Dallas area, and Perry’s is by far my favorite. The romantic ambiance, the staff, and the wonderful food put Perry’s at the very top of my restaurant list. My boyfriend and I have been here twice, once on a quiet evening, and once on Valentine’s Day. On Valentine’s Day, they had a special menu, as well as the sweet touch of rose petals on the tables. We did notice that they had switched out some tables for smaller round 2 tops that really don’t accommodate the portions well, especially with appetizers, but being Valentine’s Day they were trying to seat as many as possible, perhaps to the detriment of their customer’s comfort. Despite the closer than normal quarters, the service and food were the level we have come to expect from this establishment: nothing short of incredible. I highly recommend the fried asparagus which comes covered in crabmeat, and the Ribeye or NY Strip, both of which come topped with truffle butter and melt in your mouth. As someone who typically orders steak sauce with my steaks, I can tell you, I wouldn’t ruin the flavor Perry’s manages to create with sauce of any kind. In short, if you haven’t made it to Perry’s yet, you’re missing out!

Best steak I’ve had in DFW, great atmosphere, great service. Our experience was fantastic! Anyone looking for a special night out, look no further. We started with the crab cakes, followed it up with the filets(mine with crab), added on the Brussels sprouts(amazing flavor) and finished with the Nutty D’angelo. We were stuffed and we can’t wait to go back. HIGHLY recommended!

Love the location. Love the staff. Love the food. The pork chop on Friday selection is heavenly but I must admit, I rather go for the Sunday special which is double the portion of the chop but starts you off with a soup or salad at the beginning and a dessert trio at the end for $ 29.95. The staff is always helpful when selecting from the wine menu; however, where are the Texas wines?! Beautiful location, too!

The place was blah, I went out to dinner on a Wednesday night, I was seated on one of their booths. And the traffic of people going back and forth, to the bathroom, upstairs, to the kitchen, it was distracting. Plus they had a lady playing the piano, and singing like a screaming goat. Simply annoying. And to top it all out. I got my to go box mixed again!!! Arghhhhh. I think these«upscale steakhouses» in dallas are soooo overrated. Expensive, loud and you get your to go boxes mixed. Awesome;(

Had a reservation and came here for dinner on a Thursday night at around 7:30 p.m. to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Valet is $ 5 and sometimes the valet and restaurant can be busy. Reserve ahead of time. Restaurant was clean and ambiance was great. Lights were dimmed, music playing in the background. This is a great spot for a romantic dinner. We were seated right away and our waiter Matthew was quick to take our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered the following drinks: $ 12 — Pineapple Ginger Mojito –This was a sweet drink and potent! $ 12 — Blackberry Basil Smash — A little bitter and not all that in my opinion. Just tasted like it was diluted with juice. I had it replaced with the Pineapple Ginger Mohito For the appetizer; $ 14.95 Cherry Pepper Calamari — We requested the calamari to be sauteed and expected more calamari on this appetizer than what was presented! I mean, ¾ of the appetizer was hot pepper and only 1⁄3 was tiny bit calamari! This is a really spicy appetizer, FYI. We placed our food orders(Pork Chop & Red Snapper) and patiently waited for at least 40+ minutes — Yes, I was watching the clock — before our waiter came to apologize that our orders were delayed because of a party of 40 in a private dining room that had placed their orders just before ours. I was like, pork chop and red snapper shouldn’t surely take 40+ minutes to be made, and our waiter was no where to be seen for a while with no updates until I signaled to him to see what the heck was going on when I spotted him rushing by our table. We also had a couple that was seated at least 5 minutes after us and they got their main meal before us –they ordered the same pork chop and some filet mignon, so I was curious what the heck was going on with our order. Eventually, we got our food orders; $ 38.95 Pecan-Crusted Red Snapper — Wife ate a little bit, didn’t seem to care for it. $ 37.95 Perry’s Famous Pork Chop — This is their signature meal, really tasty and comes with apple sauce. Since we had waited for so long and were snacking on bread, we really were not that hungry when we finally got our main meal. I ate a couple of the pork chops which were tender and delicious and was stuffed in a matter of seconds. Wife just ate a couple of fork-fulls of her red snapper before we had the food packed up on the to-go boxes. Since it was my wife’s birthday, Matthew brought her a special dessert with a candle. The dessert was great! I really would have loved to give Perry’s a better review, but as noted above, we had some things that would have been done better.

I thought I had reviewed this place and was surprised I hadn’t! My two favorite days to come to Perry’s are on Friday for their pork lunch special(I believe it is ~$ 13 now) and for their Sunday pork special(I believe it is ~$ 30 now). 1. FRIDAYLUNCHSPECIAL(~$ 13) The Friday lunch special is a(slightly) smaller signature pork chop, carved tableside, including their whipped potatoes. It is AMAZING. 2. SUNDAYSPECIAL(~$ 30) The sunday special is their full signature pork chop, any salad of your choice, and a dessert trio. It is a GREAT date night meal and you should really share it!(It is a lot of food!) I came here for my Birthday in 2015 and we were seated in the bar area on a Sunday(during football season). Actually, I believe it was the Alabama game so there were a ton of people in town and the place was packed. I can’t say this was my BEST experience at Perry’s, but I can say that they tried to make up for it as well as they could. Since it was a table of 6, they ended up taking our dessert trios and making us a HUGE platter variety of treats. If I can find the photo I will add it later! It had some snickers type dessert(way fancier than snickers, ice cream with flambé sauce, their signature bread pudding with INHOUSEMADE marshmallows(my favorite!), and chocolate covered strawberries! I will tell you, we went back again this year for my birthday(in Austin, review to follow) because of how special this company made my birthday! I am forever devoted to Perry’s steakhouse, and I hope that you will be too!

Tried the Escargot for starter, it was my first time, it tasted like shellfish and I mean it in a good way. Its garlic and onion sauce was very good! The spinach salad was honey sweet, bread was warm and soft, I’ve had too many cold, hard and dry bread in other places and I like theirs very much. The pork chop was Huge! Two girls could barely finish half of it after other dishes! It could be more juicy, I have to say the size is more impressive than the taste.

Came here on a weeknight for an early birthday dinner celebration and really enjoyed myself. The ambiance is amazing. Lovely dimmed lighting, not at all noisy. Tables are nicely spaced. Definitely a great place for a romantic date if you’re looking to splurge a bit or you just got it like that. Do you. They have private dining rooms that can be reserved as well. Our server was awesome and attentive. He checked on us constantly. Kept our drinks filled and our table crumb free. He made great suggestions and gave knowledgeable answers to all of our menu questions. I also Iike that he didn’t just lie to us on the stuff he wasn’t sure of, but instead received confirmation from the chef on some answers before responding. I ordered the Symphony Kabob with a side of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were deliciously creamy and the presentation of the kabob was very nice. The kabob itself tasted good too. I’m not crazy about lobster(surprise surprise), but I enjoyed it here. The asparagus this entrée came with was also good. I recommend ordering the surf & turf if you can’t decide what you want. Between these 2 entrees, you’re set. They give you the most bang for your buck and give you land, sea, and pasta all on one plate. Beware that the sides are super large and could really be meals all by their lonesome. I’d say 1 side equates to about 3 people, or 2 super foodies. I want to say that valet was something like $ 7, and pretty much the only parking option. I got the chance to meet Priscilla Shirer in the ladies room, so I think it may be a popular spot for celebs too. Pretty cool.

It’s good food, but for the price, I would want amazing food. I was staying downtown for business and we need a place to eat. Having the company credit card I searched for higher end restaurants that had a selection of both seafood and steak. This place fit the bill. We decided to walk from out hotel and let me tell you this area of Dallas was dead on a weeknight. This is similar to other steak houses you’ve been in, in that it’s dimly lit, with lots of wine bottles surrounding you. We ordered expensive steaks and appetizers. The sauces were just OK and the steak was undercooked, but still good. TL;DR — You can find better for your money

First time to Dallas and Perry’s was the choice for a celebratory evening. We decided to try a bit of everything(lobster bisque, escargot, roasted sherried mushrooms, potatoes au gratin, ahi tuna entrée, and the famed pork chop carved table side). The food was phenomenal from one bite to the next; every single dish came out perfectly. Ambiance was without question on point and the music was great; both what was played and the volume at which it was being played. I think what struck us most about the place though was the service and timing. Our server, Chris Kane(sorry if I botched the spelling), was in and out at our table constantly with genuine, enjoyable conversation but instinctively took cues from the table if we happen to be mid-conversation at one visit or another. He really made the night and I’d go back just to have a repeat of such quality service. Honestly, we sat down for a quick dinner at 8:15pm and we dined until 10:40pm without even noticing the night slip away. Thanks again for the complimentary desserts!

Wow!!! well I’m sold! i’ll be back. if thats all you read of my post go on that! Staff — Well they are defiantly top notch. Professional, quick and courteous. Your glass of water will never go empty, your drink will never be sitting at the bar for an hour and you will never be rushed to leave for another guest. I was very impressed. from the front of house to the bus staff they were on their game here! Facility — beautify interior design and layout of the restaurant. it was great! we sat down in a small room with about 8 tables that was half a story below the rest of the restaurant and it was just wonderful. Food — well thats why you come right! so i did the famous pork chops and i have to say(as a pork chop expert!!) these were the best i have every had hands down! Highly recommend! i shared my friends steak and it was also amazing!!! the Asparagus and potato sides were delicious as well. The ice cream we ordered was served table side and is insanely(like crack) good!!! highly recommend. Drink — I am a martini snob and they did a great job with mine here. they default to the traditional pimento olives which i love! Wine list was pretty decent. Not so much its overwhelming but pretty impressive. Their scotch/whiskey/bourbon list was also decent. Love this place *****yes it is pricey but its totally worth it*******

One Andrew Jackson, Three words, four syllables, gets you«Pork Chop Friday» it’s going to ruin your life because Fridays are now committed to Perry’s. I honestly just changed my uptown work schedule to fit around Friday Lunch. I am not sure what the kitchen is doing in back of the house, but surely tons of culinary line cook love and brine is involved. I would describe it as at least three different experiences from the pork ribs in the middle, to the crispy outside to the tender moist juicy inside! Really I am just talking about a chop– Game Changer! Coming back for a steak… this place gets it! P. S. Spend the extra Jackson and pair a glass of Jordon Chardony(don’t be a pussy)

A perfect night on the town. Although the price is a bit high it is absolutely spot on when it comes to value. They made some mojitos that would challenge any I’ve had it across the Dallas metroplex. So now let’s get started on the meat. Having a ribeye that you can cut with a fork and enjoy for the better part of 90 minutes cooked to perfection the exact temperature you want it. The sides are divine as you enjoy the rich mushrooms, and earthiness that can only be from a MasterChef delicately handling a perfect ingredient. The somewhat salty spinach and the creamy potatoes it’s like you walk through a dream meal that incorporates all of your senses from scent to taste to vision to touch. I probably should’ve worked on this review right after I ate dinner, as just the memory is making me hungry. They have some nice breads ahead of the meal which I recommend you have to try because they’re good but not so much that it may take away from eating the tremendous food coming out of the kitchen. I have to mention the one thing that slightly detracted from the meal and that was that the piano was a bit too loud for the table conversation. They have a nice bar where one can walk up as a group, couple, or individual and feel right at home. This is a true night to enjoy and make it a three cocktail evening as you’re going to spend the time anyways the food’s going to be fantastic so the only thing you have to remember is making sure you’re with the right company.

Pork Chops. Those are the only two words you need to remember when you enter this fancy, upscale eatery. Located on the edge of Uptown(walking distance to Klyde Warren Park) the plain exterior won’t particularly catch your eye. But this is only a façade. The inside is beautiful with elegant gold décor; you definitely will never feel overdressed there. Dimly lit, but well lit enough to see your date/friend/family’s faces and take visible foodie photos. Since I came for restaurant week, I only had to choose from a smaller menu; I decided on the wedge salad over the Caesar, their signature pork chops(trust me), and the dessert trio. We also ordered the cherry pepper calamari. The cherry pepper calamari was unique; it was on the spicier side, tossed with peppers, which was an interesting combination. Sour, spicy and salty. The calamari and pepper portions were exactly half and half. I would have cared for a little less pepper, or maybe cut the pepper into smaller pieces instead of whole slices. But it was really tasty. They brought out the standard bread appetizer also. If I were to be picky, the bread wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was adequate. Just your regular white bread and whipped butter. I would skip this to make room for your pork chop. The wedge salad was very, very good. I rarely finish a side salad but I actually ate 90% of it. A wedge of iceberg lettuce was drizzled(drenched in my case) with a delectable buttermilk vinaigrette dressing and generous bits of bacon. It was topped with red onion rings, chopped green onions, and grape tomato halves(seemed slightly pickled to me). It was delicious. Now for the main course. My friend ordered the 8 oz. filet perry which is topped with lump crabmeat and a side of steamed asparagus. Then I spotted my mammoth pork chop. From a distance, it looked like a giant piece of chocolate cake. They carve it tableside which was new to me(like table side guacamole?). The pork chop has three specific cuts: the eyelash, loin, and ribs. Our waiter started explaining each cut, but all I know is the pork is cured, roasted, slow smoked, and oh so caramelized to perfection. It is paired with an outstanding scratch cinnamon applesauce you can dip the pork in. I started with the eyelash, the fattiest part of the pork. Yum yum and more yum. How can I describe this first bite? This is when single words are not enough. When you are a foodie and you: a. Almost forget to take the important food picture before you dig in b. Forget your manners in sharing c. Ask your friend if they want some, keep eating, and forget to cut them some d. Resent your(so called) friend as they steal mentioned food from your plate. These are all the symptoms of a great dish. That and the incessant, «Oh my gosh, this is so good,» coming from your mouth between bites. And the uncontrollable smiling. The simple, homemade applesauce only enhanced the flavor of the pork. You can tell this dish was well prepared and very well thought out. The creator of this dish obviously is a master in flavor profiles. I was so full from the previous dishes that I barely made it to the other cuts, which had a slightly different flavor to them(loin was sweeter and the ribs were smokier). So like I said, skip the bread, and you can always take the leftovers home without worrying about your manners. The dessert was a trio of a hazelnut praline cheesecake, raspberry topped crème brûlée, and a Grand Marnier chocolate truffle. The crème brûlée was an expected flavor, though slightly watery(it should be cold and firm), and the hazelnut cheesecake was very sweet and decadent. I am not a fan of chocolate desserts; rather, I’m more of a crème brûlée or pie person. So I was not expecting much from this small cocoa dusted truffle. Holy moly, this was the best truffle I’ve ever tasted. Not overly sweet(but not bitter either, which is mostly the case for truffles I’ve tried), the balance of sweetness and bitterness is successfully achieved. With a slight fruity hint(the orange from the Grand Marnier perhaps), it isn’t too rich, but has just the right amount of decadence. It was almost minty in flavor; what a perfected recipe. The service was polite and not bothersome. He explained everything very well and filled our water glasses exactly when we needed water. Overall this was a fantastic experience. Food is top notch, service impeccable, and atmosphere is spot on. I would say it’s a perfect date spot or celebration restaurant. Wear your Sunday best and fat wallet though. ;) Valet is recommended given the area($ 5 vs. $ 10+ elsewhere) unless you want to park 5 miles away and burn off that delicious food you just ate. I’m already thinking about my next visit here. See how I mentioned my friend’s filet and completely forgot to review it? That’s what the pork does. It messes with your mind. (Filet was pretty good too; slightly salty and the real crabmeat was saltier but the steamed asparagus balances them out.

I’m a big fan. I refuse to get anything besides the pork chop as my main course. I have been eating the chop here for a couple years(pork chop Friday has been a pretty major change in my life). I came last night as a treat and ate from the Restaurant Week menu. I started with the Caesar, which is an upscale staple(nice and crisp, very peppery, anchovies on top) and then ordered the pork chop. I love the Perry’s pork chop. I could eat one every day and just be fat and gross. I don’t care. If you haven’t had one, it is a gigantic cut(lunch is 16oz and dinner is allegedly 32 but I really don’t believe it). Tableside the pork chop is cut into 3 distinct pieces: the eyelash(at the bottom when cooking, mega fatty/flavorful, garnished with lime), ribs, and the chop which is paired with applesauce. I want a few gallons of applesauce. I really do. This sucker is rubbed down and slow cooked for a bazillion years and then comes out mega juicy. When I say that is thick, I mean that they advertise the dinner portion as being«seven fingers» thick. I’d call it about 4 – 5 inches thick. Get some mac and cheese as well. It is a huge dish for sharing, and completely awesome. Dessert time: with the Restaurant Week menu, the dessert is the trio(as copied from the online menu) is Vanilla bean crème brû1ée, Grand Marnier chocolate truffle and praline cheesecake. All were very good, but the truffle was my favorite. When not dining on the Restaurant Week menu, I often start with lobster bisque, which is rich and creamy and fantastic. I would say that it is as buttery as bisque is supposed to be. My favorite regular dessert would have to be the Mont Blanc a la Frisc. They come to the table and make a crazy delicious sauce with white chocolate, almonds, pecans, and caught on fire with brandy and poured over ice cream. The service is usually very good, but sometimes it is pretty slow. The last few times that I have been, the«chop» portion of my pork chop has been pretty dry. The eyelash and ribs have been fantastic, but the chop just needed a little extra apple sauce to go down. This will not deter me from this fantastic pork chop. I will still order it.

I have always enjoyed Perry’s. My husband has never been so when I saw their 36th anniversary menu, which includes 4 courses for $ 44 after 4 pm, I had to take him. The signature pork chop is on the anniversary menu and it is usually $ 36 alone. Heck of a deal! This is a must have when you go to Perry’s! Three very different tastes from one pork chop. It is truly the best pork chop ever. Perry’s has an extensive wine menu, and a good selection of half bottles. While service is typical superb, our service was unusually slow. My guess is the anniversary menu brought a lot of folks in and they were a little too busy. Our dinner took 3 hours from start to finish. Way too long. However, this was the first time I have experienced this, so I am chalking to up to just a bad night for them. Check out their happy hour menu too! And Friday at lunch you can get their pork chop in a smaller size.

Sophisticated, balanced and chic. The layout and private rooms might be the best in Dallas. The steak was good. I had the Perry’s Filet which comes w/crab meat and asparagus which as $ 46 is a steal. I know that might seem high but for the ambience its a value. The service was marginal. Our waiter might have been new or had an off today but we felt rushed. I was celebrating a birthday and a few times we had to prompt him for items. I made a reservation for a table upstairs and initially they sat us downstairs but then accommodated the request. The bar is stylish w/a pianist and a cello. Great patio. I’ll give the food another shot

Myself and a group of 11 others dined at Perrys in their private back room. The room was very nice and easily fit our group and hosted a TV for the sports fanatic. Beautiful décor and gorgeous upper dining area but a bit dark if you have any type of vision issues. The service times were a bit slow for dining at 8:00pm on a Monday which is why they did not receive 5 stars from me. Ordering to entrée was more than 40 minutes and standards are about 15 – 20. I’ll attribute the time to the large party. The food was delicious and presented very nicely. All steaks were cooked as requested and we were assisted in a nice wine selection. Overall, very nice staff and great food. Will be back again.
