Thursday is Ladies’ night! Free flute of champagne for all the ladies! And they do have a sense of humor — the chalkboard instructs the ladies to drink until he looks cute! The food was very interesting and delicious. I loved the combinations of tastes — some quite unusual — and even if I wasn’t a fan of every small dish, it was fun to try so many different alternatives. The short ribs and the stuffed dates were outstanding. Our table of six waited for at least 10 minutes before we flagged someone down to give us water and menus. I think there may have been a misunderstanding with the wait staff as to who had our table, because as soon as we got their attention, the service was exceptional. The live music was provided by a Spanish guitarist and was delightful. We really could have sat there for hours drinking wine and nibbling. But alas — it was a school night. I will definitely be back. Frequently.

We had a horrible experience here. Our group was larger and we asked for split checks. Literally empty inside and they refused to help us, even though at the beginning we mentioned this. Then they added another fun fact of 6 cards max. Nothing like a little math after wine, and ruined the entire night for all of us. We all won’t be back and too many great options in the area to be treated so poorly.

This was a great place to end a Saturday evening. We got a wonderful Old Fashioned, jalapeño quail with couscous, grilled dates and eggplant. I felt like I was back on vacation in Spain !

Phenomenal. Everything was great. The food was spectacular. The wine was good(and reasonably priced). The live music on the patio was pleasantly weird. Seriously, all the food was great. The Sujuk Lollipop was a flavor explosion inside a little slide of sausage(on top of some greens). The stuffed dates were eye opening for someone who doesn’t love dates. Pachanga Borek was like a little, crispy Mediterranean egg roll. Don’t sleep on the cheese and meat plate. Plenty of options and lots of delicious flavors.

Everyone must visit this place! I’ve driven by this place for 4 full years and never gave it a second look until a few nights ago. This restaurant’s patio area is amazing and has a rustic Greek aura about it, so sit outside if you can! The staff is super friendly and charming. Butternut soup and the borek were AMAZING!!! Also the house Cab is very delicious. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

I have rarely written a bad review. I write this as I wait for my card returns. 1) it’s overpriced for the portion 2) the service was very poor, there just seemed like no one owned a table, the wait staff kept walking by would ask you if you wanted something then it wouldn’t show up, we asked for bread 3 times 3) the overall look & feel to the place didn’t match the pricing The food was tasty, but 2 tiny lamb chops for $ 14 were not worth it. I would drive to uptown any day & eat at Si Tapas than this place. Sorry we really tried to be returning customers but having to ask for even our credit card to be returned was a bit too much.

This was my second time to visit Pera Turkish Kitchen. There is a reason they have amazing reviews. Pera offers exceptional wine, cocktails, and most importantly delicious tapas. I must say I love it. Pera is located off of Preston and Beltline. It is a small and fairly casual place with a touch of elegance which makes it perfect for a date or dinner with a few friends. The owners work hard and take pride in everything they serve and are there to make suggestions based on your preference. A few things my date and I enjoyed: +Octopus Salad — Grilled Octopus served with tomato, red onions tossed with olive oil and lemon +Salmon Marmaris — Baked salmon, tomatoes garlic and onion sauce +Scallop dish +Wild Mojito — fresh and not too sweet which is a plus for me Other positives: +It’s clean… this is one of the only places I’ve been where I don’t feel the need to wipe down all the silverware before eating. +Great service by friendly staff +Full bar with well suited wine selection +Patio +Convenient hours offering online reservations via website +There is parking so no need for valet money or parking in a not so convenient parking garage. Pera is a locally owned and operated one of a kind gem. It is unlike any of the overcrowded chain restaurants in the area. I highly recommend Pera to anyone who loves fresh food and drink in an intimate setting.

TL: DR Gf left scarf at place. Staff said didn’t find after being asked several times. A reward was offered to the finder. Scarf miraculously appeared basically immediately. We knew it was there beyond a doubt. Full story below: Had an interesting experience here. The gf and I went late for dinner, got there around 10:30, stayed till near close(12am). Not gonna lie the food was good and even the service was too. Or so we thought. Later on our way home my gf realizes she had left her scarf. It was important to her so we called and tried to get it sorted that night but they were closed. Next day I call around 11am and even though they don’t open till 5pm there was someone there who said he didn’t know anything and call back after 5. I call at 5:02pm talk to the girl that was our waitress and I explain to her that the scarf was missing and that if she found anything to call me and I left my number. Well my gf in desperation called again and after being given the same song and dance about it not being found, my gf upped the stakes and said that if anyone found it that a reward would be involved. The waitress says«hold on one sec, oh I found it it’s here.» So literally the moment she heard reward she changed her tune. It was obvious that they must’ve found it too because when we left the previous night there was only one other couple across the restaurant that would have never seen it, And that next day there hadn’t been any customers. My gf remembered exactly where she had left it and was completely certain it was there. Pretty flippin shady.

I absolutely adore this place! The menu is vast, a little bit of something for everyone, I appreciate the small portions for how tapas are actually meant to be. Staff members are all friendly, the restaurant itself is intimate, meal is often times pared with live music, although personally I think it can be disruptive at times when they come by table to table to play for you, it’s rather loud lol. Food is always well prepared and presented, even if an item isn’t perfected to your taste it’s only a bite or two till your next plate, although I haven’t had any complaints They have great happy hour, monday is $ 4 all tapas but it doesn’t cover some of the really good ones that’s served on regular days for a higher price, Thursday is lady’s day I believe half priced wine or a free glass, can’t recall that important detail. After your meal I’d highly suggest the«panna cotta» for dessert, delicious and light weight! Their special pudding that I can’t stay away from!

This is a stellar place! The Sangria was great the service in the beginning was awful! !! I don’t want to give it low stars because it may just be our server. The guitarist was amazing! Not just the usual music selection. In the end the food tasted excellent I really wanted to to like it, but the overall service and the hair in the food was a killer!!!# so sad. The desert was wonderful the Panecetta was a little runny, but the baklava was perfect! Overall, I would come back, but ask for Anna! She had it going on and saved the evening!

Dined her with my wife and kids(late elementary school age). We had about a dozen tapas plates, a big plate, and tons of the warm fresh bread. There were tons of new flavors for me here — the stuffed dates and calamari salad stand out especially though. We finished with baklava and a fruitted pudding — both were excellent. There is a big wine selection, though the beer selection leaves something to be desired I won’t hold that against them as it’s advertised as a wine place and they at least had some interesting selections. The staff was super friendly and the service was great — I wish there was one in north Austin!

I go to sleep and dream about this place. Romantic(check), good food(check), and friendly service(check). If you want to impress your date, or impress your own tastebuds come here. Everything is beautifully assembled, and tastes as good as it looks. Tapas can get a little pricey, but you really get what you pay for. Check out the Pachanga Borek.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Pera’s last night. We have been wanting to try it out for some time now and I’m glad we finally stopped by. It is all that you would expect a good tapas restaurant to be. All of our dishes were fantastic, we had a total of four: the Sujuk Lollipop, Pachanga Borek, Shrimp Kadayef, and the Lamb Chop. My favorite had to be the Pachanga Borek! It’s something interesting that I have never had before and it’s really tasty too! Overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone, but it’s really nice for a date night especially with the live music playing in the back! Oh yeah and they have $ 4 tapas on Monday, so don’t forget about that!

$ 6, $ 8, $ 14 tapas with a huge selection of wine. Larger dishes are available as well. Table bread($ 1) – I thought was complimentary was PERFECT(crispy outside, soft and warm inside)! Not a fan of the lemon-flavored yogurt dip that came with it though. Order their hummus($ 6) to dip the bread – it’s delish! Duck salad was pretty good, but wished they gave more meat. Octopus Carpaccio was extremely salty. Again, wished there was more meat. Grilled Filet Mignon(highly recommended by other Unilocalers) was just okay. Steamed Straubass was good(but was on the dry side). Love the ambience here though. Live guitar guys(don’t know the official name for them) are a delight although it can get quite loud. Small, cozy restaurant with a nice roomy patio. Romantic. Service — a little forgetful at times. We just gave up asking for items by the end of the night. Overall, food was good. Will definitely consider the place again. I like Pera much better than Si Tapas(uptown).

Hands down the best restaurant in North Dallas. Eating at this restaurant takes me away to Europe. The décor is just swanky enough to give you that special feeling of being out on the town but not stuffy where you feel like you need to dress in your best suit. Every dish is not only beautifully prepared, but also delicious. Be sure to save room for dessert because everytime I’ve eaten here, I have been presented with dessert, gratis. A lovely young Turkish couple own and operate the restaurant and the owner regularly serves tables. She is so unassuming and down to earth, you will never know it’s her restaurant. One suggestion, if you drink wine and the owner gives you a bottle recommendation, take it… she knows great wine and I’ve found some excellent wines by taking her suggestion.

Making NYE dinner plans like 7 hours before was a very bad idea so after hours on Unilocal and Opentable, I decided on this place. It would be our first time and I wanted somewhere kind of quaint– a hole in the wall. This was just that! Arrived to a fairly packed small little restaurant and very friendly faces. Sat promptly and given water in 2 minutes top. The service is totally kinda slow but theyre very VERY friendly and sweet and you can see only 2 servers running around with(probably) the owner or manager running around helping out. Live music tonight was pretty cute! A little on the loud side but they were absolutely fantastic. Definitely added to the experience here. We started out with the 14 Hands Moscato and Pachenga Borek and Octopus Carpaccio. I really adored the pachenga borek, it was very filling and flavorful. Full of meats and sauces that all went very well together. It was 4 pieces, the size of eggrolls. The octopus carpaccio was… interesting. It was definitely not what I really expected… I don’t think all of the ingredients quite go together or maybe it’s just not«for» me. I thought it would be with some ponzu/lemon-like sauce or something but it was more creamy. Interesting is the best word for this. My date got the duck«big plate» and I got the grilled filet mignon as entrees. He joked that the duck would be tiny and they didn’t really lie because it WAS on a «BIG plate». It comes out and he’s completely right! It was a lot smaller than I thought. But man… it was SOOOODAMNGOOD. I didn’t like my filet mignon for the sole purpose that they covered it in this weird sauce that reminds me of A1 steak sauce… and i HATEA1 steak sauce… Everything was amazing, I just wish i knew that there would be sauce over it so that I could have asked for it not to be. Its not in the description. Lucky me, my date traded plates with me ;) So I really like this place but you have to know what to get and what you’re getting yourself into. Hit or miss, depending on your palette. Will definitely be back one day!

So we decided to try this restaurant. They were kind enough to accommodate us so close to closing time. I can tell you now that it is a slice of heaven! Service was impeccable and seamless. The Sujuk Lollipop appetizer had a light yet dynamic flavor. The endless bread kept us happy while waiting for our dish which didn’t take long at all. As soon as our main course arrived we were thrilled by the presentation. Lamb Shanks with bulgur rice, smoked lebni, and pickled vegetables!!! One bite and we could not stop smiling. The taste is rich and savory but not overwhelming. Cooked to perfection the texture holds so smooth that the fat literally melts in your mouth into an explosion of colors. Pair the Pork Shanks with the Merlot from Nicolas, France and you’d think you were being seduced!!! I’m definitely coming back!

This place has been on my bookmarked list for a while but we never seem to be in the area and therefore never had the chance to try it until now. Luckily we had to run some errands in the area and therefore was able to try it. We went pretty early around 5pm on the weekend and there were already people inside the restaurant. We loved all the dishes that we ordered. There wasn’t a thing we didn’t like from the service to the food. We can’t wait to come back and try some more dishes.

Creative small plates, somewhere on the Meditteranean tapas-mezze spectrum, in what used to be the unmissed Burgers Twelve and, before that, a Taco Bueno. The interior(merficully redone from its Bueno days) is dimly lit but very attractive, with a spacious bar area, and even some patio seating. The chef, who is from Mersin, Turkey, also runs Pera Mediterranean, on Preston and Frankfort. There’s also a grill location off McKinney Avenue in Dallas, which I will visit for sure because there is talent in the kitchen at Pera Wine & Tapas. Bread($ 1) comes steaming hot with a dip of olive oil and lemon yogurt. Crisp crust and great texture — unusually good bread for the price. We had a meat and cheese board as part of a Groupon deal — this included excellent ‘Turkish pastrami’(presumably pastirma), a small piece of Idiazábal(with an excellent pomegranate jam) and some rather limp jamón serrano. Quantity-wise this was a bit small for the price but the pastirma in particular was excellent. The prepared dishes are better, some even brilliant. A highlight was the small plate of stuffed dates($ 8). While it was just four dates, they had an excellent goats cheese stuffing, and a little green salad with the most refreshing, clean-tasting dressing. It is unusual to encounter side salads of this quality. Snapper with potato risotto($ 14) was a fraction overcooked but had good flavor, and a decent-sized portion. The risotto was rich and comforting and had a little bit of green onion to cut through the richness. I tried a bite of the short rib($ 14), which was not up to the standard of the other cooked dishes but tasty nonetheless and with a decent array of sauteed vegetables. Scallops($ 14) were cooked perfectly and came with a chopped mixture of cauliflower, mushroom and prosciutto, almost like duxelles but not as rich. This was a superb, earthy counterpoint to the sweetness of the scallops. Wine is slightly expensive, a decent house Chardonnay at $ 7 a glass and a glass of Lagaria pinot grigio for $ 9(you can get the bottle for less than that if you shop around). Service was excellent throughout and they know their products very well. I will definitely try the main Pera restaurant on Preston after visiting here, and will be back sooner rather than later for more stuffed dates, as well as some new dishes. While it’s expensive for the quantity, the quality tells in several of the dishes. The high points here were very high indeed.
