Gross. The food is flavorless and mostly cold. The only reason why they even get a full star is because the patio is about the best patio I’ve seen in Dallas!

Tried the Hummus & Olive Tapenade appetizer, was pleasantly surprised by the quantity given. They need to place salt & pepper shakers along with cushions on their outdoor seating. Sever was super cool, not very bright though.

I had been here once before for a networking event a while back and had a nice time. I recently decided to come here on a Monday by myself, at lunch since I was shopping in the center. First of all, I’m not sure if the(2)hosts were ever trained on how to properly greet guests. There was no welcoming smile or an upbeat«Hi/Hello». Their attitude seemed very uninviting and apathetic, and I got a strange vibe from them when I asked to look at their lunch menu. There was no excuse for this behavior since they had just opened and it was very slow. This kind of poor greeting can be a big turn off for me and sometimes send me back out door on to another venue. I had worked about 10yrs in the restaurant industry myself as both a server and hostess in casual to fine dining establishments, and know how patrons should be treated. Despite this, I decided to sit down anyways. The rest of my dining experience went fairly well — I was promptly greeted by my server and my food came out just as I had specified. I ordered, the wedge salad to start and baby back ribs for my enteree, which had good flavor, but certainly not tender enough to fall off the bone; however the fries were perfectly extra crispy as I had asked. My attentive server checked on me periodically and refilled my drink as needed. During my meal, I observed that the hosts were smiling more at their co-workers than the other guests/customers. :-/and as I left the restaurant, there was no «good-bye» or «thank you» even though there was just both of them just standing there. I believe it’s underestimated how Hosts can set a firm 1st and lasting impression on new customers who may or may not decided to dine there at all or ever again.

Tucked into one side of the shops across the highway from North Park Mall, the Park Tavern is unassuming from the outside. Inside, there is a nice, modern atmosphere. The bar is good, offering a decent selection of taps and cocktails. The service was good, the right kind of attentive. The patio is the real feature, I think. The views are not much to speak of, but you have the feeling of being in the city, but set back from it a bit. It is a comfortable, class oasis. One standout from the menu. The hummus plate is delicious. It comes with interesting chips, not tortilla chips exactly. Maybe fried pita? Also the plate has a black olive tapenade that is really wonderful. If you’re in the area and need a retreat from shopping, the Park Tavern is a good spot.

I liked this place a lot. The interior decoration is great. It’s kind of open and airy with lots of light(during the day anyway!) and was stylish without being annoying. Parched from Ulta shopping, Erin and I decided to head in for a beer or three midafternoon on a weekday. We sat at the bar and the bartendress was a’ight. I wouldn’t say she was necessarily interested in us having a good time, but she brought us beers when we waggled her down and brought us a snack when we waggled her down for that too. Overall, I would say it’s a cool space that I would gladly go back to. I just hope the rest of the service is an improvement over the bar service.

Park Tavern had a rockin’ bar scene and felt much less pretentious and hipster than the usual Dallas spots — only a handful of people were wearing glasses ironically, and I didn’t see a single fedora. Their large outdoor patio area seemed rather popular, despite the scorching heat and unbearable humidity. I opted for the indoor bar instead. I ordered a half-rack of Baby Back Ribs, which come topped with a cascabel chile barbecue sauce. I really wanted to sub in their chorizo deviled eggs from the appetizer section as one of my two side dishes, but I was told this wasn’t an option. I even offered to trade both sides to no avail. I begrudgingly picked the Hand-Cut Fries and Jalapeño Bacon Mac as my side dishes. The hand-cut fries were definitely fresh and homemade. I noticed a slight sweetness to the fries, and also found just the right amount of salt. The parsley sprinkled over the top added nothing, but I guess they looked prettier that way. Interestingly, the mac and cheese was also topped with parsley. I was expecting gooey cheese, but my mac was drowning in what was essentially a runny cheese soup, and I thought about taking it home to eat with tortilla chips. Despite the jalapenos, I found only a slight spiciness. The bacon was a nice touch, but apparently there are things even bacon can’t fix. My ribs were the third piece in a parsley-topped trifecta, suggesting that the chef needs more practice with garnish diversification. Beneath the sauce I could see a decently-peppered crust. I didn’t really pick up too much heat from the cascabel chiles(some, but not nearly enough). I tasted a decent smokiness in the barbecue sauce, though not at all in the meat. The few bites of sauceless meat I found were actually almost devoid of flavor. As I feared, the rib meat was overcooked and falling off the bone. Oddly enough, the ribs were both tender and chewy at the same time, which admittedly makes no sense. Overall, Park Tavern was kind of a let down, from the runny mac and overcooked ribs to the chef’s disturbing parsley fetish. I’d go back there to watch more college football and possibly to try the chorizo deviled eggs, but definitely not for barbecue.

This place is difficult to find, it’s in the back, next to Old Navy. Not as many unique or notable drafts as I was lead to believe. The beer menu leaves out some key information… the price. I’m a fan of knowing this little nugget before ordering. The food menu was rather short. I ordered the Mexibano and was unable to eat even ½ of it. The sammich was a greasy mess. It sounded better on paper than reality. The mac in cheese was good. Overall I won’t be back. Too many better places around than to settle for a big«meh.»

I’ve been here a few times, the atmosphere is good, its a large restaurant/bar with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Food is inconsistent, even on the same day. My friend and I ordered the same thing, but came out with different results. A little odd in my opinion. Upside is that they do have a large assortment of beers on tap. They are apparently the official Texas Exes location to watch UT Football games. Showed up there on gameday, turns out they don’t have Longhorn Network. In fact, they had some guy hook up his laptop to their TV set up, trying to stream the game. He started this effort about 5 minutes before the game started. It was a total clusterfck. He couldn’t get it working so about 15 minutes in, we decided to leave and find somewhere that actually had the game on. The place was filled with burnt orange, I’m going to guess it emptied out pretty quickly.

I tried out Park Tavern today and it was amazing! They have a ton on tap amd its cheap. The service here blew me out of the water. Chalet and the new bartender Jesse were outstanding! When I sat down Jesse was awesome! He introduces himself to me and basically made me feel welcome by making conversation right off the bat. Chalete made sure I was taken care of and I was so happy for that. You don’t go to many taverns and have a manager checking on you or even have the bartender making sure you feel comfortable by making conversation. I havnt tried the food here but the guy next to me ordered the foot long grilled cheese and it looked legendary. He said it was amazing. Yes this is on the menu. Apparently there is a late night happy hour too. On 8 different drafts. Crazy! I love this place. Ill be back.

Oh wow, time for a major update of my review. This place has gone downhill, so far downhill you might think it got sucked into a giant pothole. Why? Well, not only is the service inaccurate(bringing the wrong drinks and food), but it is slow. Really, really slow. When no one is there. It seems that lately when I visit I end up with the waitress who’d rather be staring at a wall than checking on her customers. It’s a great place to go if you want to watch service staff stand together in a circle and ignore everyone else. That’s typically not what someone at a restaurant or bar is looking for though, so I’m not sure Park Tavern can survive on that alone. The food quality has also taken a nose dive. The salads are tiny, and at $ 7 – 13 if a protein is included, that’s just ridiculous. What’s worse is that the size of the salads varies wildly. Two people can order the same salad at different times(to the same table) and one has a salad twice as large as the other’s, for no apparent reason. When someone orders something like a salad, it should be quick to make. I’ve waited over 30 minutes for a salad with 4 ingredients. I’ve watched other folks at my table wait 45 minutes for a salad with no meat whatsoever. And no, the kitchen wasn’t pumping out steaks or other entrees. The place was empty. Maybe the cook took a smoke break and left us all to fester. That’s the only rational explanation for why it could possibly take that long. On top of that, when I was still hungry after eating my tiny salad and ordered a breakfast sandwich — figured I should try something on their new brunch menu to give them a chance to shine — the waitress took the order, seemed to understand it, and then 30 minutes later when she emerged with a plate for me, it was entirely wrong. Burrito, not a sandwich. Meat all up in it. Rice and beans instead of potatoes. WTF? She acknowledged that it was not what I or anyone else at my table had ordered, but she wanted us to keep it anyway in case anyone might eat it. Someone tasted the burrito and looked upset. I took the rice and beans home for a friend’s dog. After another half hour, the sandwich arrived. It was as bland and sad as the salad, but I ate it, fearing what might happen if I sent this back too. Plus, two of us had to send our drinks back because they were not what we had ordered. It’s weird because I’ve been there on some days with few people there and had great service, but my experience this past Sunday was a definite sign that the owners of Park Tavern are either oblivious to what’s going on in their business or just could not care less about whether the restaurant succeeds or fails. It’s a shame because they do have a nice patio out back, and their servers used to smile and do their jobs well, and the food used to have flavor(even when bacon was excluded from the order), but those days are over.

Whoa! I came back for my second visit at Park Tavern for a Friday night dinner. The place was far more crowded but this time due to the summer heat, the interior was full instead of the patio. The service was fine, no complaints there. Our server told us he was brand new but he still did a generally good job. My house margarita on the rocks was good although a tad sweet. If we stop there, we’re doing good so far. However, when it came to the food, OHMY! I had the pulled chicken tacos with the corn pico on the side. I wanted to scope out the pico before my tacos were smothered in it. The pico was fine but it was the only thing on my plate with any flavor. The chicken, the beans, the rice… you name it, all incredibly bland. It was almost as if all the seasoning was just forgotten. It was very disappointing to say and we wouldn’t have been in a hurry to catch a movie, I would have asked to send it back. I’d probably still come back to Park Tavern but just for their happy hour. I still love their expansive patio and their drinks specials but their food needs some serious work!

Park Tavern has a lot of potential but is held back by poor service and inconsistency. PT is my favorite watering hole in Park Lane because they have an excellent beer selection with lots of Texas microbrews, pleasing atmosphere, and a patio bar. The problem is that they are understaffed which leads to inattentive service. Also annoying is the fact that none of their servers seem to know which beers on are happy hour and which aren’t. The happy hour beer specials used to be great here but they’ve changed them and now only a few beers are discounted. The menu is decent but slightly overpriced IMO and the quality appears to be hit-or-miss. Sometimes the lamb french dip sandwich is great and other times the meat is dry. The beer can chicken was the antithesis of what it should be; tough and dried out like it was a reheated left-over. Yuck! The bacon mac n’ cheese was tasty but the asparagus was burnt and they substituted broccoli for broccolini. The burger is just average but the deviled eggs are excellent and the tacos are good.

I came here for a 15+ person dinner party. Although I found myself yelling at the top of my lung to be heard, the ample space, delicious food, and good service make it a great spot for large groups. The beer can chicken was fabulous! I got it on a bed of asparagus with fries on the side. The half portion was more than enough to feed one. The tacos were very popular as well, and a great deal considering they give you four of those. The appetizer hits with our table included the roasted red pepper hummus and deviled eggs. Our waitress did an excellent job of keeping track of everyone’s tabs separately, especially since we were rarely seated & mingled alot. For the most part, she made herself available to offer water, checks, and to-go boxes. The restaurant is at the top level of the plaza near Whole Foods & Old Navy. I would enter from the Greenville Ave. side to avoid the I-75 highway traffic.

Came here to watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Host was a cool chick. Very friendly. We waited for a a table to clear and saddled up at the bar. Bartendress(which most of them were cute) walked up and helped us right away. Score. Table cleared and we moved over. Hostess told us it was taco special night. Score. And we waited to order. And we waited. And we waited. The server didn’t care to serve us at all. I finally walked up to him and said«Hey, we’d like to order something.» He looked at the table and said«You close your tab at the bar?» «Yes.» He gave me a I don’t care look. I told him I would like one pork taco and one chicken taco. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. And we flagged down his attention again so we could order another beer. We get our second round of beers and the food comes out. Instead of giving me the special, he gave me two full taco dinners. I told him I wanted the special and he said«You have to specify.» :/One pork taco… one chicken taco. I didn’t care to argue with him and ate it anyway. Fast forward to him only checking on us when our mug was empty.(I didn’t get any silverware and hunted that down myself.) We are ready for the check. I tell him I want the food on my check and I’ll cover my friends food. He splits the food on to a check of another friend’s that didn’t even eat. :/ We tell him it’s wrong and we need it fixed. He gives us a wtf face and switches things up. The check is split wrong again, but my friend said fuck it, I don’t care. We give him the cards and wait. And we wait. And we wait. Are you getting the theme here? He sat talking to his friends and folding napkins. My friend, getting very impatient, walks over to him and says we want our checks. He gives them to us. We scram. I want to give this place 1 star because of our service. BUT, the manager was really nice, the bartendress was really nice, the hostess was really nice. It was the fuck up waiter that screwed everything up. I’d say I’d come here again, but shit man. I don’t want to deal with him again. This borders on the most horrible service I have ever received. It wasn’t even no service. I’d say it was negative service. NEGATIVE service. Aiya… I’m getting angry thinking about it again. Jeez.

Go for the beer… skip on the food! Wow I officially had the worst ahi tuna of my like here. We enjoyed a few beers before venturing to a movie. I thought Id grab a bite because ahi tuna tacos got to be way better than what the movies serve right? WRONG. The seared ahi tasted like it had somehow tried to be seared in a microwave. There wasnt much of a sear on the outside and the tuna was down right hard to chew! My wife and I both took a bite out of the tacos and managed to get through the shell but the pieces of tuna would even begin to break. It made for a very awkard dining experience being that we were with some friends I had not see in 5 plus years, after a couple of failed attempts I gave up and ate the rice and beans… I wouldnt be so harsh but for 16 bucks I expect a little better. It was kinda what I would expect if Taco Bell came out with seared ahi tuna tacos…

I can overlook spotty service for delicious and cheap beer and food. I agree that the service is not great, ranging from clueless servers to unprofessional phone conversations by staff in the bathroom. But they have happy hour EVERYDAY3 – 7(except for Sat)! With really great drink and food specials like $ 3 texas beers(and they have lots of local brews), ritas, wells and $ 3 off of appetizers. This is usually the standard happy hour, and on any given day, they compound this offer with another great daily deal! Go sign up for their PT club and you will get $ 20 to spend on your birthday. They will even let you combine offers/coupons. I got the horseradish salmon with mashed potatoes in white wine garlic sauce and it was devine! I was surprised they asked me how I liked my salmon cooked and was a bit dubious as to the quality of PT to actually cook salmon with varying temps. But my medium salmon came out wondefully moist, only slightly pink on the inside, and expertly prepared. The horseradish sauce on top was matched perfectly with the meaty salmon and the creamy potatos. And the white wine garlic sauce that this meal sat in was something I could have on hand all day to dip foods in. So good. Another unexpectedly good dish was the octopus la plancha… this is NOT calamari… it is grilled octopus in a potato and tomato hash. On Wednesday, which is ½ price sandwiches all day, make sure you try the lamb french dip… it is seriously good.

I absolutely love this space. It’s big, woody, lots of room, lots of natural light. My kind of place. I’m always putting places in the back of my mind for birthday parties, and this could definitely fit the bill since it’s so spacious. I came here around Christmas time on a Saturday afternoon, and there were not many people in the place. We sat at the bar, and I ordered from their holiday menu — some eggnog drink. It was delicious. Had two, and didn’t really realize how strong they were until I got home and was feeling buzzed. This place is kind off my path, but I’d love to come back.

First these people need to invest in signage you can see from the street. I attempted to eat, and I attempted to drink… Actually, I did get a drink, but only because my friend had one and I took it. I was at this establishment for exactly an hour. and left hungry and sober. I saw the lady I gave my card to. She was chatting it up with friends, hanging out with the hostess station. I’m pretty sure trying to avoid our party like the plague. The other waiter–«excuse me…» «One sec» 15 min later, «oh, did you need something», no. I think I’m going to go now. As they say — «aint nobody got time for that». I left and made scrambled eggs at home. Its a very cute restaurant… lots of yuppies seem to hang out there, and there is an Ulta next door. I’ll be back — but only to go to the Ulta next door.

To begin, I would like to inform any one reading this review that Park Tavern is indeed in the Shops of Park Lane, but just not where you’d expect. Well, where I expected. After spending 10 hungry minutes roaming the shopping center, we finally discovered that there were stairs. Stairs that led to the other side of the Park Lane shopping center that faces Greenville by Whole Foods. That is part of the shopping center as well — go figure. Not that the location of the restaurant is anyone’s fault, but I thought I could assist in helping future patrons avoid making the same silly mistake we did. Once we reached our destination, we were elated to find this open space inviting with warm, brown, and natural tones, an open bar in the middle of the restaurant with and a solid stock of beers on tap, a huge patio overlooking the Park Lane shopping center, and a friendly hostess that sat us immediately. We were seated comfortably in the lush booths that line the right wall. Our server greeted us immediately and was incredibly patient as we perused the long beer menu and made very crucial decisions as to which beer we’d choose. Knowing it was a craft beer joint, I couldn’t help but peek at the cocktail menu, which boasted quite a list of fun cocktails. For instance — a fun spin on the Moscow Mule, but with Tito’s vodka and Bourbon. The Smokin’ Presidente won my vote and was served with a half-slice of a jalapeño. Delish and zesty! I was also impressed with the variety of protein options on the food menu. Though the menu isn’t overwhelming, the choices seemed sturdy. Considering my love for seared Ahi Tuna, I landed on the street vendor tacos with the seared tuna. Street vendor tacos with ahi tuna? What a refreshing take on mini street tacos. The tacos were dressed with thick cuts of tender tuna, avocado, pickled carrots and cucumbers, and a side of diced onions and salsa. The serving was the perfect size that left my stomach content, and the best part was the black beans and rice to accompany all the flavors.

OK, I am down town like Bobby Brown with this place… The décor, the food, the furniture, the patio, the service — all good! I came here on a Thursday evening to kick off a happy hour gathering. I scoped this place out like a hawk, baby! THEFACILITY I like the grand size of the bar and the overall layout of this gastropub. I first sat at the bar while I waited for my group and prelubed with a happy hour $ 3 Texas brewed beer. There are about 8 or more TVs at the bar alone — very nice! The bar area is so much larger than most pubs/bars/restaurants offer. It’s exaggeratively comparable to a running track! I did say I was bein exaggerative, people! There are all these black and white framed photos in random sizes lining the walls of this facility. The floors, walls, bar, and tables are all comprised of warm inviting woods — indoors and outdoors. There is not much in the way of color, but it works for them. The colors of the warm woods do well alone. The restrooms are near the entrance, just passed and to the left of the hostess stand. There are several, not a couple, 3 sided padded grey booths which can seat 6 – 8 people comfortably. My party moved to one of these, once my group starting trickling in. There are also several 4 top tables and a couple of very long group tables which seat over 10 people! There is a very nice patio outside as well, which has TVs available for your viewing pleasure. I look forward to sitting out there in the much much cooler fall. ;-) THEFOOD/DRINKS My group shared a few different small tavern plates, which were $ 3 off during happy hour(4p-7p &9p-12a, I believe). Animal tots — these were described by our server as a heart attack on a plate(translation: YUMMY!). The tots were crisp, covered in soft pulled pork, cheddar cheese curds, and a sunny side up egg. DELISH! Hummus — I loved it! We all did. It came in a square bowl placed atop a large white plate. The bowl contained the reddish colored hummus(not hot spicy), and chopped kalamata olives with slices of some lovely asian cucumber slices wedged in one side of the bowl. Tasty seasoned pita chips lined the rim of the plate. Jalapeño wings –most of us weren’t big fans of. The meat and cooking method were ideal for wings, but they have a dull and flat spice to them. They came with a side of tasty blue cheese. I would try the wings again, except opt for buffalo or BBQ flavoring instead of jalapeño. Olive plate — this was tasty. It is literally a small bowl of kalamata olives with pits. They are tasty, but I’d opt for the hummus with chopped olives. We all had different beers and cocktails. The happy hour special includes: $ 3 — Texas draft beers, house wine, house margarita, and well drinks. I stuck with the Texas draft beers during happy hour and later had an Ace Pear Cider. My first Texas beer was the Real Ale Devils Backbone, which was not a beer I liked(just because it is not my fave, doesn’t mean it won’t be yours). It’s too wheaty and heavy for me. The good thing? There are many to choose from! They have about 40 beers(and one cider) on tap alone! That’s pretty impressive. A friend of mine did not like the house margarita, but she didn’t explain why. She did, however, drink that sucker down! LOL. THESERVICE The ladies and gents working the bar were lovely and very attentive. Much appreciated, folks! :-) The server we had for our table was pretty good, too. She did seem to get confused at times, but I’m sure she knows what she’s doing. The hostesses and management were also on spot. PARKING Gotta love when parking is easy and free! The closest and safest place to park is on the top level of the garage in front of Park Tavern, which is located right next to Old Navy. If you want your car covered, park on the second level of the East Garage and walk up one flight of stairs to Park Tavern.
