We used Peter to cater our grand opening and the food was to die for. He made us a signature drink that was out of this world. The price was reasonable. The set up, served and cleaned up. Can’t beat it.

Good food, good prices, fast service. Granted it was a very non-busy Sunday night with football, and they don’t have music or TVs, but great place for dinner and chatting.

First and last time. The atmosphere is a nightmare. Bright florescent office lights and décor that is thrown together and makes no sense. Service was average. A table of unsupervised children took up a large part of the dining room. A realtor convention was going on also. Not a place to have a party, folks! Not impressed.

Since it is our ‘local’ restaurant, we desperately wanted to like it. We’ve been there three times. The food ranges from quite good to dreadful. The people are very pleasant, but they need to learn that food should have flavor. In the Lake Highlands area there isn’t much of really good food. This place maintains that fact. Finally if they are going to have a bar, it would be a wise investment to have a bartender who knows how to make basic drinks.

We went here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Happy to see a greater variety in kids’ menu options than most restaurants. We sat outside and the kids enjoyed playing on the chalkboards. Also glad to see several non-meat options on the menu. The Shrimp & Grits was delicious as well as the Greek Steak & Salad(special). Had to try the Chocolate Mousse Cake – amazing! We will definitely be back!

Asked the locals at the quilt shop my wife was shopping at, where to grab lunch before heading to the airport — cause that show you find the hidden gems. Anyway it was excellent. I had the burger with the egg on it and it was perfect! Good fries. Wife had the chicken salad sandwich it was more than she could finish. Love finding great spots not on the beaten path. Quaint atmosphere great price. My drink was always full and they took care of us.

Veggie plate is so much food! And sooo yummy! Tastes like good ol’ home cooking. Service was the cherry on top, Denzel was so great. Definitely recommend this place.

I’m glad I gave this place another shot today. I first went a few months ago for brunch and didn’t really care to come back. I decided to order a carry out order today, because the menu seems to have recently changed and they’ve added more sandwiches besides a burger and club. I got the chicken salad sandwich with a cup of tomato basil. Very fresh tasting! I will be back for lunch for sure.

Such a cute and lovely place for breakfast or lunch! I had always passed by this place and finally stopped by today. Had the ribs which were very soft and came right off the bone. Chocolate mousse cake was delicious! Service was great! I want to come by for breakfast 7am-10:30am as they have $ 1.99 mimosas !!

I was really excited about this new restaurant in Lake Highlands. When they first started out, there were some quality issues, but in order to support them, I kept going. Things got better… but then recently, the quality has taken a distinctive downturn. A few weeks back, I ordered the grilled chicken plate to go and the chicken was so tough I could not cut it with a serrated boning knife. I didn’t say anything, just threw it out. The next time I went, I ordered their special to go which was fish and chips. I requested sweet potato fries instead of regular fries but when I got the dinner home, the sweet potato fries were burnt to a crisp. I immediately returned this dinner and asked for my money back, which they did. I am so disappointed because there aren’t that many unique restaurants in the Lake Highlands area and I was hoping that when this restaurant was sold and redone, it would be a shining star for our neighborhood. For the prices they charge, I feel that they need a real chef on premises and not just cooks following a recipe. In the meantime, I will not be back.

Wonderful experience. The atmosphere was quaint, for families and for a date night. I want to go back and try to brunch on the weekends. The food had so much flavor(lemon crusted salmon meal, fried green tomatoes, hummus) and the appearance of the food was appealing. We had to take to go boxes home because the portions were too much for us. The service was good. They don’t have a wine list but the waitress read the wines to us, small selection but the house Pinot Noir was good. My only complaint, gather it was about 106 outside when we went but it was a little too warm in the restaurant. My favorite part, when you get the check it comes in a reading book that you can sign and or read what others have written. What a great concept!

Is it still called neighbors? Idk, but it’s a new place! I went to the old place once and that was enough, the new and improved though, we will totally be back. Service was great, food was tasty, prices totally reasonable. Mimosa and Bloody Mary’s close to home? No brainer. :)

First time coming here and will definitely return. The service was exceptionally friendly and courteous. I had the pasta salad with Tuna and it was fantastic. Family also had club house, meatloaf, and chicken fingers. Everyone’s food came out cooked to order, tasted fresh, and met our expectations. They also have great key lime pie that is definitely recommended. We will definitely be back.

I REALLY wanted to like this place — and the increasingly positive reviews over the last few months gave me hope. Sadly, I cannot give a great review. The food was OK — nothing to write home about. I had pulled pork tacos with cilantro slaw. It was pretty good, but the tortillas had apparently been placed in some sort of warmed«form» for filling, and it left them completely dried out & crunchy. The tacos also came with a strange spicy-cucumber sauce on the side. I never figured out what it was for. It didn’t go with the slaw already on the tacos, and certainly didn’t go with the sweet potato fries on the side. I tried the chocolate mousse cake for dessert — pretty OK if you typically buy your food at Costco. My husband ordered the French dip sandwich — another«meh». Good, not great. Overall, the entire menu was interesting, but rather schizophrenic. I’m not exactly sure what vibe this place is going for. The same can be said for the décor — industrial chairs/tables with turn-of-the-century pictures on one wall, hydrangeas tied with gingham on the bar, high school ads on another wall, and an odd beach theme on the patio. The oddest thing — our check was delivered inserted into a Nancy Drew book. Um, what? I think a 2 – 3 hr consult with a menu expert and a marketing guru could do wonders for this place. They aren’t that far off, they just need some direction.

We went here for breakfast since it is in the neighborhood. The restaurant has been completely remodeled and now has an upscale feel. The ambience is quite nice. The breakfast menu is quite attractive. The wife got the pulled pork eggs benedict on a potato pancake although the potatoes were more similar to mashed. I just got the simple 2 egg breakfast with sausage, home fries, and toast. My mom got the Texas waffle with jalapeño baked inside – they were REALLYSPICY. Almost too much heat. Overall, the food was well prepared and tasty. There is no doubt about the quality of the food. The menu is a bit pricey for a «casual» restaurant though. Our server was very friendly and efficient. This place is worth a second try for lunch.

Food is dramatically better! Was told by waitress that the owner has been working on improving things. And, he has. Looking forward to going back!

Love this neighborhood spot! My family and I will walk here for brunch or lunch. Food is good. Everyone who works there is really nice! Service is getting quicker(it was a little slow right at opening– but thats to be expected). The food isn’t bad. I do feel like it may not be as good as it was the first few times I went, but it is nothing that wouldn’t bring me from coming back. It may have been an off day or what I ordered. Thank you for giving us a lovely place to eat in our hood!

Like everyone else we really wanted this to be our go to restaurant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the food is just«gross» per my wife, and crummy in my opinion. Everything seems like it’s defrosted right off the Sysco foods truck. They didn’t even make their own hamburger patties, they are this tasteless pre — formed star shaped ones. Price isn’t much better, I had 5 sad little onion rings on my plate, it was almost embarrassing. Sorry Neighbor’s, we love your location but it’s just not worth it for us to go back.

I really was hoping to like this place. Its not far from where I grew up and the area needs more wholesome non chain restaurants. My mother and I came in around 6:45PM on a Wednesday. The hostess was incredibly friendly and sat us immediately. It was pretty dead, maybe 3 tables. We sat down and a very friendly waiter greeted us. We ordered a glass of wine each and the spinach and artichoke appetizer. The appetizer came out in record time! The appetizer itself was sadly a fail. It was very bland and heavy in a green spinachy flavor. Dont get me wrong I love spinach, but spinach and artichoke dip should have a balance of flavors. The menu stated that it came with salsa. I think they’re a bit confused. A small tin of sriracha is not salsa. I LOVE sriracha but normally actual salsa goes better with this dip. The flavor was so boring that we decided to dump the sriracha in the dip. As crazy as it sounds it helped the flavor. It at least gave it a little spice kick which made it less boring. I ordered the pulled pork tacos and they were fine. I probably wouldnt recommend or order them again. They had about two ounces of pulled pork in them and half a cup of slaw per taco. The flavor of these was just ok. Actually a little boring. I expected to taste more of a cilantro flavor since it was cilantro slaw stated on the menu. Id say it was more so just slaw than cilantro slaw. The tacos came with a side so I ordered the sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries are one of my favorite things in the world. When the waiter brought them out they looked very dark and not as orange as ones Ive had elsewhere. We gave them a try and yup, they were burned. We kept trying a few in hopes that maybe it was just the one but they didnt get better. Burnt sweet potato fries is just not a good flavor. When they start to turn black, they are clearly WAY over done. The cobb salad was fine. Its definitely a safe bet. The lettuce was green with no slimy dark pieces. Tomatoes were cut a little bigger than should be. Cheese was a bit on the heavy side as well. I personally dont like when places boil their eggs to the point of grey and crumbly hard. I prefer when they’re timed so that the yolk comes out yellow and soft. It was a good salad but not memorable. Overall I wouldnt recommend the food. Nothing we ate was worth ordering again. But I can tell you my family and I will for sure return for a glass of wine and maybe the cheese plate. They have a cute little patio(I just wish the one side didnt show 7 – 11). Service is great. Our waiter was so kind and good about checking on us. Id love to have little restaurants like this stick around. I hope that they put some major focus on their food so that they can have a returning customer base of regulars in the neighborhood. Fingers crossed! Im rooting for you guys!

Boyfriend and I came in for lunch, service was a little slow but that might have been due to the fact they were short staffed. Food was alright, the chicken Cesar wrap is nothing to write home about, decent but nothing great. My boyfriend ordered the club sandwich which was good, again nothing to say wow, but just okay. Overall okay place, wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. No sweet tea? Oh… I didn’t realize we weren’t in Texas.
