first review. and proud of it. if you live on or near worth and haven’t stopped into the dingy, unimpressive, hole in the wall convenience store, Mz’s, well, i don’t blame you. it doesn’t look like a place to get food. the people who run Mz’s are pretty fantastic. the first time we went in to check out the food, there were about five kids running around the back of the store, playing tag. a man and woman, presumably parents to one or more of the children stood behind the counter. we ordered a #4: 2burgers+2fries+2drinks=$ 4.89+tax. wha?!? talking to the man running the grill and the till, i learned that Mz’s USED to carry beer and wine. but the man told me that he never did really like selling it. looking over at the smiling kids and seeing his reserved, polite wife, i could understand his delicate position. i am sure he doesn’t make near as much money, but he sleeps better at night with his family safe… so, he got rid of the beer, and stocked the coolers with fresh produce. now, they sell burgers(like on the cheap). the fries are freaking stellar, i always come home and shake seasoned salt in the fry bag. simple set up. makes it while you wait. gyros, tacos, hot wings. cheap. cheap. cheap. they have combos with drinks, the most expensive single meal combo runs about $ 3. it isn’t an adair’s burger, or twisted root, or any of the other thousand awesome burger joints that dot dallas. just a humble burger. made from genuine people. grateful people. Mz’s gets 5 stars for sticking to their guns, living the american dream, and offering me a good meal made with care! try to overlook the dusty candy bar tops and valentine’s day candy in may; we aren’t reviewing the convenient store side of Mz’s today ;D
