It’s been a few years since we’d been here. The formula remains the same, you pay a lot of money, they herd you into a sales area where they try to get more money out of you for buying poorly made drinks or cheezy souvenirs. D grade actors prance around with bad English accents while you wait, and wait, and wait to get admitted to the show. The seating is fine. Our server was fun. The show was exactly the same as it was the last time we’d been here four years ago. That made it boring. Can’t they change it up? The food was not as bad as it could have been. Don’t expect utensils, you eat everything with your hands. Then after the show you get herded back to the sales area where they hope you will buy more cheezy souvenirs. Then once you get in your car you wait for a half hour to get out of their overcrowded and badly designed parking lot. Don’t waste your time or money.

Great fun! Food was good and the entertainment included knights jousting on beautiful horses. You eat with your fingers and cheer your knight on with flags. Our kids were thrilled and it was a terrific time for the whole family. My only criticism is that the gift shop was a little pricey…

This is the pinnacle of dinner shows. I have been 30+ times and can never get enough. I love everything about the show. The castle is superbly done, the have a great drink selection and the dinner is always tasty. This is a great event for families, the kids will love it. They allow for pictures at the entrance, I would recommend spending a bit extra and getting dressed up in costumes, makes for a great memory. They have all sorts of play swords and things for purchase for the little ones. They can talk with and get a picture with the king before the show. The dinner starts with a soup and bread, then you will get corn and half of a rotisserie chicken. The soup is amazing and the corn on the cobb is warm and salted to perfection. The chicken is always moist and filling. You will not leave hungry. The show is a blast, watch as the Knights duel for your honor. They have a number of horse acrobatics, and then start jousting and sword fighting. Wave your flags and cheer your heart out for your knight, be sure to boo the others. I would also recommend this a perfect date night!

My 44 year old husband keeps talking about going back! My whole family enjoyed the show and it was a memorable night for us. Our server was so awesome we left him a $ 70 tip for his quick service. Our yellow/red knight was the winner of the jousting match so that was a plus for all of us!

I was expecting horses on the level of what you ride on a Mexican excursion, but these steeds were magisterial. Bread, soup, and corn were good. Chicken had me wishing I had a bottle of hot sauce. I didn’t get a rib. That was either discontinued or I was bent over and forgotten. It’s a good time. Great place to take the kids or a spirited adult for a birthday.

First time at age 26 to find out what all the rave is about! Even when we were in Colorado a couple months ago we ran into 3 different people who were like«Oh you’re from Dallas? We love Medieval Times!» Very fun experience. Came here with a group of girlfriends. Sat on the front row. Drinks are a little pricey but that’s ok, it was expected. The acting is phenomenal! We especially all loved the bad guy! He did a great job playing the part and stole the show! The tournaments, the horses are beautiful and it is all very impressive. Very fun, definitely made me feel like a kid again. Oh, be prepared to eat with your hands. Tomato soup w/Texas Toast, damn near an entire rotisserie chicken w/extra buttery corn on the cob and a half a baked/grilled potato. Our vegetarian friend got the veggie stew and it looked delicious!!! At the end all the characters come out for pictures and autographs and they were all very friendly.

This was my 4th trip to the Dallas location. I bring a new set of nieces and nephews every few years, and still have a few more to go so I’m sure I’ll be back. The first time I saw it I was disappointed because I had previously seen the Vegas show, and it’s not near as elaborate. So if you’ve been to Vegas, don’t expect the same. As far as the Dallas show, it’s a good show, but they don’t change it up much or at all that I’ve noticed. As I said, this is my 4th time over 18 years and it’s the same show. It would be nice if they changed it up since I have more kids to bring and although it will be new for them, I have to sit through the same show again. I think they should all see it at least once. The kids LOVE it. It’s fun for adults too, but especially for the kids. I always wait for a special to purchase tickets because they are pricey, and everything inside is pricey as well. The kids always want souvenirs, but I would recommend just stopping off at Wal-Mart and buying them a costume and sword to wear for ¼ of the price before you get there. It’s mostly the same plastic crap. It can get really pricey if you have a lot of kids. I have 10 nieces and nephews so I have to say no to some of the extras. I’m not going to get into details because there are plenty of other reviews for that. Nothing has changed. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I usually stay right next door at the Sheraton Market Center so we can walk and don’t have to deal with parking. This time I had 2 little ones so opted to drive over and even though we were an hour early I still drove around the lot twice and couldn’t find a parking spot so I just had to make a spot of my own. My only complaint this time was that I had paid for the Celebration package for one of my nephews birthdays and they were really looking forward to dressing up for their picture, since they had seen the pics of the other kids’ visits. For some reason, they didn’t dress them up even though the people next to us did. I didn’t realize what was happening because the photographer said«the first one is a test shot» so I thought maybe they were going to do the test shot and then let the kids dress up, but she just took the picture and showed us out. I wish I had said something and made them let the kids dress up for their picture. I won’t make that mistake next time. I don’t know if the pictures are different with the packages. This is the first time I got the picture as part of a package instead of just buying it separate. The kids were really disappointed by it.

I definitely have to give them 5 stars. I have been 4 times and this last show was definitely the best one yet. Sign up to be on the email list and you get discounted tickets and get to go free during your birth month. My husband and I, along with our 3 kids went for $ 123.00 not bad for a dinner and show that is 2 hours long. We didn’t order any cocktails so I cannot comment on those. But we did order the cheesy souvenir photo for $ 20. Immediately when you walk in everyone is in character and speaking in Shakespeare. Our waiter Justin was fantastic and energetic! DON’T FORGETTOTIPYOURSERVER! I noticed the people below us had a party of 9 and only tipped $ 7.come on, the servers work hard. For dinner; Choose from Tea, Pepsi or water. Garlic bread, tomato soup, half of a roasted chicken and an herb crusted half of a potato. For dessert you get an apple turnover and coffee if you wish. For 2 hours you enjoy dinner, yelling, horse dancing, jousting and fighting. I was yelling and fist pumping all night cheering our knight on. Our knight kissed and threw a flower to our 3 year old. all night long she said he was her prince and they were getting married. Haha! Afterward we got to take pics with the King and knights!

So, yeah, go on your birthday(actually your birth month – free with a regular price purchase) or embrace catastrophically poor value.(As an aside, I suspect that birthdays actually account for about 60% of their gate, and that few people pay the $ 60 full price for tickets.) But it’s a good show, and this one features one of the dudes who appeared on Full Metal Jousting. So, the horesmanship and falconry are impressive, the food is plentiful and not bad, the drinks are insanely overpriced, and you sit a bit too close to your neighbors for my liking, but I’m also a little claustrophobic that way. There’s a loose plot to the show featuring some nefarious villain and some ye goodly knights who have to face off in a tournament featuring feats of skill(hooking rings with a lance, throwing spears from horseback, etc.) and, of course, jousting. Beer, as I mentioned, is criminally expensive, and my $ 8 refill on my $ 27 commemorative glass only filled it about 2⁄3 full. Grumble. But the glass itself(a tall and sturdy 32oz. pilsener) is attractive and good for pounding about three Oktoberfests. Not that I’d do that, of course. Protip 1: DOTHE $ 2UPGRADEFORTHETORTUREMUSEUM. It’s awesome and adds serious value to the experience. You will look at some of this metal stuff and the descriptive plaques about what it did to people and wince so hard that it will be stuck on your face for a week. Protip 2: Cheer really, really loud for your knight(you’ll be assigned one). Rumor has it that crowd noise influences the outcome, so raise your voice if you want to leave a winner. I was vaguely tempted to go with three stars here because of a crying baby and the overwhelming presence of the childrens – and I might not give more than three had I paid full price. But I didn’t, and really, c’mon, do I actually think that there are enough over-30 dorks out there to keep this place afloat? So children it is, and it’s my problem and not theirs. So happy birthday to me, and next time I’m in the same city as a Medieval Times on my birthday, I imagine that the missus and I will go again. So I guess that makes me a fan.

Medieval Times is a tournament and dinner show that includes jousting, horsemanship, falconry all while you enjoy a four course utensil-free meal served in a castle like building. Your meal begins with tasty Garlic Bread and a Tomato Bisque Soup. The main course is Oven Roasted Chicken, Herb-Roasted Potato, and Sweet Buttered Corn The dessert is described as Pastry of the Castle, which on our visit was an Apple Pastry. If you wish for a Non-alcoholic Beverage, Sweet Tea or Soda are included with your meal. The food is surprisingly tasty given it is prepared banquet style, and served at your seat. Tickets can be purchased at a better deal if you visit the Medieval Times website and do not intend to visit on the weekend. I purchased the Kings Royalty Package which included first-row seating, an entrance group photo(three copies), Knights cheering banner, and a commemorative program. I’m not sure the upgrade was necessary, but a fun time was had by all!

To watch the show with the food is a special experience. Although some of the scene are similar, it’s still interesting.

Make sure you bring plenty of money. You’ve been warned… Dinner comes with a half rotisserie chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, tomato bisque soup, apple pie, and coffee. The entertainment consisted of horses performing tricks, synchronized routines, and competition from your designated knight. The funniest part are the games. The key is the have your section be the loudest for your knight. The main event is the joust and if your knight makes it to the end then he will get to battle the bad guys. Overall. It’s a good time. One of the premier places to visit in Dallas whether you are with the kids or on a date. This place gets a CB3 thumbs up. Don’t ask where the 3rd thumb came from. Maybe I have 3 arms brah.

I’ve always heard about this place and have always wanted to go, but there isn’t one on Colorado. Imagine my excitement when I’m driving in Dallas and see the building from the highway! I managed to talk a co worker into joining me for a dinner and we settled on the 5p dinner. The tickets are a little pricey, but Medieval Times offers special discount codes, which we used to get $ 19 off of an adult ticket. Although, the tickets are pricey at full price, it is a good deal to get a 2 hr show with a 4 course meal. So, we check in at the front desk for the two of us and they handed us 2 tickets that were colored green and had the number 2 on them. This means that we’re seated at table 2(which is really a row, the front row that is) and in the green section to root for the green knight. Once we got our green crowns, they take your picture with the sword in the stone. Then, we walked towards the waiting area, where you can purchase beverages at their massive bar or go shopping. We waited amybe 5 minutes before we were directed to our designated doors. Our trip to our door walked us by the horse stalls — what gorgeous horses! We sat down and our seats were great. Our server Allen gave us our spiel on our eating utentsils. He had us raise our right hand first and said it was our fork, then had us raise our left hand and said that was our knife. He also added we will mot be getting extras lol. The first to come out was garlic bread that was cut thick and was flavorful, but not salty. Then, we were served tomato bisque, which I loved. The roasted chicken came out, which was a whole leg quarter and was so delicious and juicy. They also served corn on the cob and a grilled half potato. I didn’t eat these because I was super full after eating half my chicken, so I put them in my to go box and haven’t gotten back to them. My co worker said the corn was ok, but not sweet like our Olathe sweet corn back home — darn. For dessert, the menu said«pastry of the castle.» They served this flaky pastry triangle that had the consistency of phyllo dough and a puff pastry. The filling was apple cinnamon with larger chunks of tart apples and you can definitely taste the cinnamon. It also wasn’t super sweet so that you could taste all aspects of the dessert. The show was amazing. I love Renaissance Faire and of course, I just loved the show. There were dancing horses, knight games such as getting rings on a lance and jousting. All in all, it is definitely a place you have to experience! It is definitely worth the money!

Something unique to do for a quirky date! Food was just OK but there was a ton of it. You start off with a giant bowl of tomato basil soup and garlic bread for your first course. They then serve you literally half a baked chicken(it was massive!) which was the best part of the meal along with 2 sides — a herb roasted potato and a buttered corn on the cob. For dessert we had an apple turnover that was pretty good. But, you’re not coming for the food! The medieval experience was so fun! The characters really get into it and actually you get scared for some of them during the jousting! The show is definitely worth going to see, especially to see the«little princesses» get carnations from the Knights. Very cute. I recommend coming early because seating is first come first serve. Also, while you’re killing time, the torture museum is pretty scary and is $ 2 a person to enter. Come! And bring kids if you have them :) otherwise come and be goofy with your friends or significant other :)

A fun dinner and show. It’s campy, it’s cheesy, but it’s fun. Children and adults who are childish will love it. You do have to have a certain suspension of disbelief to have fun here. It is a wholesome, family oriented place that does not serve alcohol. Their vegetarian menu is not an afterthought like most other restaurants. Their vegetarian menu is just as extensive as their regular menu. My only complaint is that the meat is a bit on the dry side. For children 12 and under, it is $ 37. Adult fare is $ 61. It is a great deal for 11 – 12 year old kids. The price is fair for a Las Vegas style show that is as grand as this one. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you have 11 – 12 year old kids. It’s great fun for the whole family! P. S. It is also a great alternative to Scarborough Fair because Medieval Times is not 30.06 posted while Scarborough Fair is 30.06 posted. Also, Scarborough Fair is only 1 month out of the year while Medieval Times is available year round.

I’m not sure how I made it so many years without ever visiting Medieval Times, but I did. I finally rectified that apparent huge mistake with a few friends on a Wednesday night with discounted tickets. Things of note: 1. No photos in the room with the sword in the stone. They will yell at you. 2. Drinks are so expensive you might have a heart attack if you order one. The good news is the ‘reusable’ ‘souvenier’ cups are literally ginormous, and you can bring them back for cheaper drinks if you return to MT and remember it from home. 3. The food is so good! Seriously, if you like chicken, you will enjoy your meal. They also offer a vegetarian option, but I don’t know anything about that because chicken! 4. The show was actually cute. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about eating dinner in an enclosed space with horses but it was totally fine. Not stinky, not allergy inducing. Even the advertised strobe lighting was minimal. No one in my group had a seizure.

Visiting friends in Dallas, we were really excited to experience Medieval Times! We are a group of four adults, and got ourselves pumped up for an awesome experience. What we had, however, was an okay experience that was ridiculously priced. Now, I acknowledge that for kids, this might be amazing, so if you’re a family with kids, this review may not reflect your experience. That being said… One of my biggest frustrations was customer service. When you walk in the«castle» the first people you meet are less than excited to see you, play along, or even smile. These are a front greeter and ticket takers. You are corralled through lines(maybe Texas ranch mentality, or just general tourist experience I guess.). Hollared(sp?) at and herded where you need to go. The first themed part was the awesome guy giving us the crowns. He was totally in the theme, great job! Then, you are forced into a group photo(which was fun, I admit, we were in the left line and pretended to get the sword from the stone.). You gather in a waiting area with a «tavern» or bar… and lots of shops where kids and families are tempted to spend even more on themed merchandise. Boy, you sure could spend a fortune here to quell a screaming child! We had various alcoholic drinks which are $ 8⁄9 dollars a piece not counting optional additionally priced souvenir glass upgrades! They begin to announce your entrance into the dining arena… We bought an upgraded Royalty package because the online forum said there were no longer normal seating options available for our party size(4). For ten extra dollars a piece, you get a bunch of junk. A pamphlet, souvenir DVD(1/group), a cheap cheap banner, and what they consider preferred seating. For our section, that meant we were second from the top row… not what I’d call preferred. Our server was TERRiBLE! He was totally late on everything. You could see the other servers nearby proceeding through the meal, bussing and serving food/drinks. Ours did not. Then, at the end, they ask for tips. Normally, ok… but it is confusing where you’ve already paid so much and don’t know what percent to give because you are paying for a show and a meal, so not the percent on the ticket price! Our server was the worst part of the whole experience. Now, onto the food. It was good. It is a ton! You get soup, garlic bread, part of a roasted chicken, one rib, a potato, and apple turnover. The chicken is good, the soup okay, the apple turnover was great and the rest was pretty bad. You also get a choice of only unsweetened tea and Pepsi, no water? Oh yeah, that is bottled and sold at the tavern, for extra. Some people, were offered coffee but our waiter did not offer us any. A bar waiter comes around to offer to get you more bar drinks. While the show goes on, there are more vendors coming around to sell more add-ons like light up swords and roses, nicer banners than the ones that come with the upgrade packages. This is a corporate trap nightmare. There is also the photographer coming around with your printed photo from the beginning of the experience at $ 20 a pop. Now, onto what I would actually rate about a 4/5…the show. Almost all of the way through the meal it is just okay, there is some acting going on and set up and cheering, there are knight game competitions and horse pageantry. But once the meal is over, the awesome part begins. There are lots of sword fights with clanks and sparks and play fighting with pretty great choreography. You are drawn in and get to play along and cheer! It is the best part of it all! It lasts a pretty long time. So you get as much as you want to see of that sort of thing. At the end, you are again corralled into a gift shop for more corporate spending to occur, and then to fight the masses through the bathrooms and parking lots. As we were leaving, there were just as many people coming in for the later show, so the traffic was a nightmare. Like I said earlier, with a child ages about 6 – 11, I think his would be great. Or maybe as a once in a lifetime gotta see it American experience. But it is a whole lotta money, so beware.
