Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful… They even stayed open past closing time to answer all of our newbie questions. They didn’t have exactly what we were looking for, but it was nice to be in a family owned shop that had great customer service!

I give this place two stars only because the staff was friendly and seemed helpful. I took an old Colt revolver there recently to get a quote on restoring it. I know very little about such projects and I’m sure they get expensive, however I feel that the quote I was given here was unreasonable. What really ruined it for this place was the manner in which the estimate was presented to me. Keep in mind they kept my gun for 2 weeks and I when returned to the location to discuss the $ 2,100 estimate, I was given my gun tied to a piece of paper with scribbling and dollar figures which I couldn’t read! The guy had to look at it a couple times just to explain what everything was when I asked! I know it’s a family business but they could have at least typed it up on a computer and given an estimate that was actually legible. To me that just seems official and shows that you’ll take the time to properly work on my gun. To top it off I asked for a copy of the quote so I can sleep on it and was told that it would be scanned and sent to me via email, to my surprise I have yet to receive that. I Definitely will not be visiting this place again.

I was in the market for a new pistol and I went to McClelland Gun Shop. This was my first time here and the staff was friendly. Chris greeted me when I walked in and was more then willing to help me. I had a brand and model in mind. He did not try to up sell me or try to steer me away from what I wanted. He made the whole buying process easy and made me feel at home in the store.
This is a family run shop and you can tell. You wont get good service like I did at any big box store. McClelland and Armadillo are the two best gun shops in the DFW area.
