Started coming here a decade ago! First started seeing Ian for color only, but then let him take over both cut & color duties and never left unhappy. When he retired to pursue real estate I luckily had Matthew offer to take over & add me to his client list and he hasn’t disappointed. I regularly get compliments on both color & cuts.
The team in the salon are great too– super friendly and very accommodating. I’m not one of those people to bring in photos of celebrities & say I want my hair to look exactly like that… I’m more of a «I trust that you’re the expert in this arena & can tell me what styles & colors will look best with my face» and like I said– I’ve always walked out happy! I’ve also been privy to some consultations with clients bringing in said celebrity photos and all the stylists are really great at communicating with the clients as to why or why not that style, color, etc would work (or not) for them and offer alternative ways to still achieve desired results, etc.
I’ve been getting my hair highlighted for 25+ years and this is BY FAR the longest I’ve ever been with a salon/​stylist & I have no plans of abandoning ship anytime soon! Thanks Matthew!

I just recently moved to the uptown area and was recommended to Mag by a friend of mine. I had previously been with the same hair dresser in California for the last 5 years and was very nervous to try someone new but Mag was amazing! He did an amazing job on my highlights (blonde) and cut. He is very knowledgeable about hair and is always keeping up with the latest trends /​perfecting his style. He seems to really take pride in his work and really listens to what you want. He is also fun to talk to while you are getting your hair done and is engaging in conversation. I will definitely be back!

While I love the adventure of relocating to a different city, I despise trying to find a new hair colorist! Ugh! I moved here from Hawaii about a year ago. I’ve tried several hair colorist since my move here. None of them were giving me the «hairgasm» like I got in Hawaii. Until Jen here at Matthew Tulley! She’s very meticulous and knows her colors and formulas. I love the fact here at the salon, they all work together and ask each others opinions to ensure a great finished product.
Jen was great about going the extra mile for me too. I have been wanting a few hair tinsels put in my hair, but noone seems to know about them much less know how to put them in. I mentioned them to Jen on my first visit to her. She said she would YouTube the instructions. A week before my second visit, I texted Jen and let her know I had ordered some hair tinsels and would like her to try to put them in on my next visit. She replied she had already bought some hair tinsels for me and was excited to put them in.
It was a bit challenging putting them in at first, but Jen was determined and she prevailed! I love my hair tinsels in my fantastically done blonde hair!
For all you «Non Blondes», I highly recommend Jen! She’s THE Blonde Colorist!

Great salon, great atmosphere. Mag is my hair stylist and I LOVE his work! He is always current with the latest trends and he delivers! He has great understanding of what the client wants and always gives me beautiful results. His haircuts are so well done, my hair stays stylish after months! He also masters color… I just had a gorgeous balayage and keep getting compliments on it.
I tried many stylists in Dallas but they were average… I am so glad I finally found Mag!

Mathew and his staff and coworkers are great. Mathew is one of the most talented hair dressers in DFW and I’ve been going to him since the late 90’s. You won’t be disappointed by the experience!

I have been coming to Mag for 5 yrs now, and have been so pleased every time. He has the best ideas for getting me to look my best. Not to mention, is a great conversationalist too! I will be a repeat customer for a long time.

I should have left this review earlier, but was reminded recently while sitting across from my daughter in a restaurant and admiring her hair.
Matthew cut her medium long hair several weeks ago, and wow did it look fantastic when he was finished. He styled it to perfection… the first time in a long time she has left the salon so happy. She’s eighteen and a busy, working college student, so I’m leaving this review on her behalf.
Then, while sitting across from her, I noticed the cut even more because she was wearing her hair in its natural wavy and air dried state. The shape he cut her hair into was gorgeous. Now that’s the sign of a fantastic cut from my personal experience. The cut enhanced the beauty of her hair.
Despite her tight college budget, she said she will be returning to Matthew!

I’ve been coming to this salon for almost 3 years and it’s great! Their appointments are easy to make and they send texts for confirmation (which is great for me bc I can’t answer my phone at work). If you go here you have to see Mag! From our very first visit he listened to what I wanted and gave me the perfect cut and style. He always remembers what I want and I don’t have to tell him the specifics every time I go — I just sit down and he works his magic. Mag has also colored my hair on a few occasions (ombré) and it looked beautiful every single time. It lasted a long time and looked great even as my hair grew out. Plus, Mag is so fun to talk to and he makes the overall experience so much fun. The pricing is reasonable and you won’t be disappointed :)

Love this place! Went for the first time today and chopped all my hair off! Susan Luebke did an awesome job and made getting a new hair style, after 10 years of the same old thing, an awesome experience. Everyone in the salon was so friendly and welcoming! Very clean and nice environment. This will for sure be my go-​to hair salon from now on! P. s. My hair looks fabulous!

just got my hair done by Magg Allen — so fresh, so clean! Maggs the damn man! I don’t have to think too much about what I want to get, he knows how to shape my hair to match my head and my body type and I always come out looking great.

I moved to Dallas last year and had 3 pretty bad hair mishaps trying to find my new salon. My friend referred me to Jenny– the rest is history. She is amazing. It’s really hard to find someone who can cut, highlight, color, and who you can sincerely enjoy talking to– I wouldn’t trade her for the world. If you want to sit back, relax, and look beautiful, Jenny is your girl.

Unless I keep it really short (like buzz cut short), I’ve got funny hair, but I trust these guys to cut it well. In fact, for dudes, best place in Dallas.

Update 3÷30÷14:
I used a Groupon promotion and scheduled an appt. with Celso. Man! This guy knows his stuff! i walked in with a LONG mop of straight hair and he shaped it all up real pretty and gave it some bounce and pizzaz! I was smiling the whole time he was styling my hair because I could tell I was going to be pleased with the results by the time he was was done. The highlights he gave me were beautifu! (Reminiscent of what they looked like when my photo on my profile was taken). As I was leaving the salon, even the other stylists were even complimenting how great my new «do» looked! That’s a testament to what a talented stylist Celso is. I highly recommend him.

It had been six months since my last visit to a hair salon and I was OVERDUE, so I booked an appt. with Mag to do a cut and highlight. I first went to this salon back in January using a LivingSocial promotion and all went well but after reading some of the comments on some other sites, I was a little apprehensive about trying them again but I figured, why not? Turns out I was worried about nothing! I explained to Mag that I wanted my highlights a tad lighter than on my original visit and what length I wanted chopped off my hair and I could not have been more pleased! Got a fantastic looking haircut and my highlights came out lovely! After going to my last hair dresser for the past 15 years, I’ve become quite spoiled expecting my hair experiences to always turn out great but trying a new stylist brings back bad memories of past hair disasters. I am one picky person when it comes to how my hair looks and I would feel comfortable recommending a friend to see Mag. He certainly seems to know what he’s doing! (At least in my case!)
