I give this place five stars, mostly because of the food, which is awesome. The décor and general feel of the place is of a «hole in the wall» café. I like that, but some people don’t. This place is not trying to be anything it’s not with fancy decorations or really anything fancy. But it’s clean and pleasant. And I have to say again the food is awesome. I’ve only tried two things — the cannelloni and a calzone, but both were served timely and with a fresh, crisp salad – and some really excellent hot garlic bread. Ask for the butter and you’ll get garlic butter, prepackaged but delicious. The crust on the calzone was light and crispy with a cheesy meatball interior. The baked cannelloni came as it’s usually served in a bowl presumably fresh from the oven. The tomato sauce, cheese, pasta balance was really really good. I don’t know if their sauce comes from a can or not but I liked it as well as any I’ve eaten in the Dallas area. My friend and I both had sodas and the total lunch bill was about 17 bucks before tip.

I’m not a pizza crust kinda guy. The pizza here is awesome and the crust is probably the best I’ve ever had. It’s buttery and perfectly not too hard and not too soft. I plan on coming back again during my visit here in Dallas. Coming from a Chicagoan, that’s about the best compliment I think I could give to a pizza because Chicago knows how to do it with the best of them. Kudos to Luigi’s for having an excellent product.

Clear off at least an hour or more for lunch here. I love the pizza, but the service is too slow. The pizza is honestly second on my list of favorite pizzas after iFratelli. It hits the spot perfectly when I’m craving New York style fold-over pizza. I would eat here more often or at least order out if I lived closer. The garlic bread they serve at lunch time is also delicious… warm and buttery. Getting your drink/appetizer order in will be a 10 – 15 minute ordeal after you sit down. Most likely, your drink will not be refilled unless you flag someone down. Oftentimes, I’ve had to take my check up to the register to pay because once you get your food, you probably won’t see your waiter again. Overall, I recommend this place for their great, great pizza. Downside, of course, is the wait times for putting in and getting your order, as well as paying the check.

On my recent quest to find a great lunch spot in the N Dallas area, I passed up This pizza pasta restaurant several times. Well, I decided to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. I passed on the pizza by the slice and decided to go for the special of the day: spaghetti and meat balls with salad, plus garlic bread served with warm marinara sauce in a cup. Overall, it was a decent choice. The salad was comprised of romaine and head lettuce, with slices of tomato, cucumber and shredded carrots. The salad was large so I wasn’t disappointed when my entrée was deliverer. The portion was just right with 4 small meatballs. The pasta was properly prepared, the sauce was a step above bland, and the meatballs were OK. I would not say the were heavily seasoned with Italian spices, but they were predominantly meat with some fillers. Considering I paid $ 5.95, I can’t complain at all; in fact, if one is looking for a decent, inexpensive lunch I would recommend this restaurant. It was clean and the service was spot on. I got a glance at the pizza served to other patrons and considering everything I already mentioned, they earned a return visit for a couple of slices. I think they missed the boat by not offering a pizza lunch special. Two slices and a drink at an economical price might make me a regular visitor. I made my second visit and had Pizza by the Slice this time. One sausage and one mushroom. They were on par with my favorite frozen pizzas. Accordingly, I lowered my rating to 2 from 3(it was really a two and a half before).

Very very good. We had dinner on a Thursday evening, and this is the best hole in the wall Italian I have ever had. Quiet, quaint, excellent service, even better food. Will make it back on future trips to Dallas.

Lunch portion was pretty big. Pasta, salad, and bread sticks for about $ 10. Carbonara with soggy bacon wasn’t very tasty. If I’m ever here again I’ll get pizza instead. Edit: pizza was decent. A co-worker had the lunch lasagna special and it looked decent.

The pizza here is ok. Nothing to scream and shout about. I’ve been hungry everytime I been here so it may not be as good as I rated it.

The good: Pizza is pretty good. Not amazing, but not bad either. Run of the mill attempt at NY style pizza. Would toss a coin to answer if I will return. The bad? The packing lot is crowded due to sharing with 3 other restaurants. The lot itself also stinks(odor) and has broken glass in it most days of the week. For service, I ordered six pizza’s to go with 2 hours notice. Got there and they were just going in the oven. They did throw in a 2 liter of soda and remember to give me paper plates and lots of cheese and red pepper flakes… which was nice. I’ve done Dine-in there before and found it better in person the to-go. For now, 3 stars.

A perrectly serviceable hole in the wall place that works for lunch. Surprisingly large inside and well attended. The lasagne was tasty. The salad pretty generic and on an ice cold plate — so presumably it had been prepared a while previously and held. I happened to be driving by at lunch time — so I went!

Tried the place to have a late lunch one day and ordered pasta. & salad… Salad was just OK. While eating the pasta, found a cooked bug in it! It was hard not to puke after seeing that and I took off. Well, at least they were kind enough to apologize and they didn’t ask me to pay. I don’t think the place is clean at all.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when I drove into the parking lot. However, I’ve been looking for a pizza place close to my graduate classes and finally found this place. To my surprise, the pizza is great! Finally, a place in Dallas with NYC style pizza. Seriously, you pick your slice and they heat it up in the oven just like they do in NYC! In all honesty, it’s not quite as good as NYC pizza, but it’s pretty damn close. Maybe it’s the cheese… I can’t really put my finger on it. I’m just glad I finally found a place I can go to when I’m craving pizza… real pizza… NYC pizza.
