Really good ingredients and toppings. It kinda takes awhile to get your pizza though.

We came here on Saturday evening at 10:30pm. This was our first time here. We ordered 2 drinks. Martini and a Deep Eddy’s and soda. This is where things went south: No they don’t have Deep Eddy’s! So the chubby guy wearing glasses pours an absolute vodka and soda. My girl thought it tastes extremely bad and returned it immediately asking only for soda water. He was a bit put back and even offered me that drink and I denied it. So he threw it away. Well he charged us $ 17.50 for two drinks! That is NOT customer service! AND he continued charging me even though I brought it up. Sorry buddy, you lost loads of money over a long time for just a stupid $ 8.00 charge. He is not a bartender. Bartenders give customer service. If I was the owner I would reconsider having him behind the bar. What a shitty experience.

Best pizza in Dallas-Fort Worth. Period. Thin crust and oval shaped. Excellent sauce and excellent toppings. Service is so-so but worth it for the pizza.

Come for the food, and stay for the company! One of my all time favorite places. As a native Chicagoan, I love coming here. The people are great, the pizza is fantastic, and the atmosphere is perfect… Just like the neighborhood bars in Chicago! Don’t expect to get in and out of here quickly though. It’s not a fast food pizza place and is meant to be a fun, gathering place. Everything is very reasonably priced, the drinks are stiff, and the food is great! Greek salad and gluten free pizza are always on the list :)

Food is good but it takes forever to get to your table, service is horrible. Not the place to come to if you’re in a hurry or if you want knowledgable waitstaff.

Definitely a dive, but such a fun atmosphere! The pizza is good and of course there are plenty of beverage choices. It gets very loud at night and also crowded — get there early if you are trying to eat without a wait. And no — it’s not closed — it’s just a great hole in the wall place!

I have been looking all over for a good place where I can enjoy a pizza and drink. I was starting to lose hope since the only places I could find was expensive specialty pizza places. I finally decided to give Louie’s a try, and gosh I’m glad I did! As others have mentioned, this place looks pretty rough from the outside, but was your inside it’s a welcome environment and very friendly people. I got a large 2 topping pizza, and I was very happy with how it turned out. The crust was delicious, generous portions on the toppings, and overall a good pizza. The price was also good — $ 22 for a large pizza and drink! Next time I’m in the area, I will be back.

We had a great experience at Louie’s. We arrived on a Friday night at 7:30 and were seated immediately. Our waiter was excellent — around when we needed him but not intrusive. The pizza was delicious, but it did take a while to come. I think the limiting factor is the amount of space in the pizza oven(s), more than a reflection of the staff. When the pizza arrived, the waiter checked back in to make sure everything was good(it was!). He always refilled water promptly when he saw we were running low. Overall, it was a very nice dinner.

These two brothers moved from Chicago to Dallas, but could never get the pizza they lived so much from Chicago. They solved the problem by opening there own pizza place. Louie has left us, but his brother and Dallas love keeps this place hoping!

Came for the Food — Won’t be Back Because of the Wait Staff I’d been to Louie’s once before, and remembered the great pepperoni pizza. We came in on a slow Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. this time, with a few empty dirty tables around. We decided to separate two square-top tables that had been pushed together, so we didn’t take up too much room. We were pounced on immediately and barked at by a young girl who apparently worked there. I have never been so insulted by wait staff before in my life. «Those tables are pushed together for a reason, I mean, I can ask the girl that normally works this section, but I guess I’ll go clean off that dirty one over there if you need a table.» Yeah, I guess you should. She ended up not being our server, this one was actually pleasant and helpful — after telling us, «don’t move the table,» I guess they’re really particular about their tables. The original girl that addressed us in the beginning could be found sitting at a table in the middle of the restaurant with her nose in her phone. The rest of the night was pretty good; the pizza was great. I’m not sure if Louie’s takes the attitude of the staff as a badge of honor, but I might suggest they make a fundamental change in how they run their restaurant — as evidenced by the other reviews citing this problem. No one ended up sitting at the two tables pushed together.

After work at a bar on New Years Eve we could barely move. Tired and a bit in shock of spending the first hour of the new year in your place of employment. I sipped on some opened Rose. I was renting my place out on airbnb for $ 250 so I needed to find a place to crash. The spunky little Latina girl with a deep penchant for new dance music said it was cool and gave me a ride home. Soon after being in the car I realized she had been imbibing for over two hours, and was fairly drunk. «DONTGETONTHEFREEWAY.» I yelled like a brother. Ambulances and fire trucks passed by us, the traffic energy rambunctious with a whiff of disaster at 1am, an hour before last call. We skimmed deep ellum, made it to Gaston, then Skillman on a bad detour and then found ourselves on Greenville Avenue. Do not drive down this street. I told her. She was swerving just enough to notice and doing slightly jerky stops. We passed by at least 3 cops as we mazed through the dark quit M streets. Blocks from her house a car sat idle in the middle of the road. «Briefly tap on your horn.» I said, but she did it longer and louder. The car door flung opened and eventually a frat guy got out and stumbled toward us. Lock the door. Don’t get out. Don’t say anything. «Yeah I thought so.» He said, slammed his hand with a metallic pop against the car hood and went back into his car. It’s like we were in a bad video game. I told her. Inside, her sweet stoner boyfriend listened to us with warm smiles and gentle love. «Do you want some pizza?» He asked. A New Years meal should be special. Either 1 star trash or a special favorite, it needs to have a little pizazz. «Have you heard of Louie’s?» Of course I had. «It’s on Henderson near Ross. I knew that. I knew the owner had recently died, and that the curb appeal was 1940s film noir mafia den with its industrial grey side stop with no windows café look and its old timey sign with a martini glass and olive. The pizza looked good, it was cold and thus the crust was soft but the toppings and savoriness reminded me of the first time I experienced the love moment of what pizza was back in 1979. I like thin crust, and the pizza was cold, but I felt so lucky to have that slice at 4am on New Year’s Day. Random accidents breed reward. Go down side streets cautiously. Trust certain unsuspecting persons with still true eyes. Follow your bliss in 2016.

This is a place that I grew up with when I was little… great memories involve thier pizza. So I was very excited to see that they were in Dallas… it was just as good as the one in Waukegan, IL. We snuck it in on the way to a baseball game and half the pizza was gone before we got there. Friendly service and even better food. We had a cheese pizza with pepperoni and sausage.

Disappointed. I have heard so many great things about this place. The owners were from Chicago and they came here to start pizza place. I’ve heard that the food here is amazing. But what they leave out is how unorganized the service was. The girl at the door(the host) seemed like a chicken with its head cut off, she seems overwhelmed. It even seem like she couldn’t even really do her job, perhaps she was new? Maybe they were short staffed that. As for the food, it was decent. However the sauce on the pizza is amazing plump juicy but that’s about it. The crust was a little dry and burnt. Again I’m hoping it was an off night.

Where to start. If I walked past this place on the street, I would probably never go in. It is a very strange all white exterior and has an old bar sign that says«Louie’s» with a cocktail glass on it. Would never of guessed that this dive would be one of my favorite pizza spots in Dallas to date. With that said, one of the best thin crust pizza around. Their sauce is great, their crust is perfect, and they have a ton of toppings to choose from! We always get mushroom, black olive, and canadian bacon. Never disappoints. If you’re not feeling pizza, no worries! They have a lot of other great options on their menu. Their calzones are HUGE and delicious and their pasta is also a great option. Louie’s definitely has a divey feel and is always packed. Expect to wait awhile for someone to take your order — I think it is just part of the experience. They used to only take cash but now take credit card, which is awesome because lets be honest — who actually carries cash these days!

The best thin crust pizza I’ve had so far. This place has definitely have that dive feel. The building looked smaller outside but when you get in there’s actually have enough space for drinkers and pizza eaters. We will definitely be back to try other specials on the menu.

Another instance of being mad at myself because I haven’t been back here in 10 years even though I drive by it twice a day. The pizza was much better than a tavern down the street on Bryan. The drinks were strong and the staff was super friendly. Great value and service.

Louie’s is awesome, its food and atmosphere and the owner himself make it stand out from all the other restaurants around it. We started off with some delicious crab claws(a must have appetizer) and a Caesar salad(seasoned with what tastes to me like garlic EVOO and fresh parmesan cheese). Then we ordered the Alfredo fettuccine pasta with grilled shrimp(this one is off the menu, make sure to Chris, the owner, for this one). The grilled shrimp was my favorite! I think they were seasoned with some chipotle pepper and some salt and pepper, goes really well with the homemade Alfredo sauce. We also had their famous thin crust pizza. I love the thin crust. The marinara sauce, cheese, and toppings go well with the thin crunchy crust! And yes, Friday nights are busy but trust me, the 20 minute wait was well worth it! P. S. Special shout out to Louie’s owner Chris Canelakes who is probably one of the most hardworking, courteous, and humble person I’ve ever met.

I would like to consider Louie’s to be a little hole in the wall type place since the outside of the restaurant isn’t very inviting and the inside has an old feel to it. I was introduced to Louie’s about 1 year ago when a friend and I were craving pizza. I remember us having a really nice waitress, even though she possessed an extremely casual and rebellious side to her. We started the night off with a few cocktails and a Caesar Salad. The salad was so big that it could have easily been shared with more than two people. There was a bit too much dressing to my liking; however, it still had a great flavor that I enjoyed. We then shared a pepperoni pizza, and it was greasy and delicious. I can’t believe I am putting the two words of «greasy» and«delicious» in the same sentence, but it was just that. The pizza had a really good flavor to it, and I wish I didn’t feel so guilty after taking each bite from the guilty meal. If you’re looking for an extremely casual, «bar type» restaurant, then this is a good place to come.
