Sign on window as of 6÷18÷15 says«For Lease». I’m guessing they are gone, sorry to say. They made the only decent cheese enchilada in town.

Just awful. The first thing I noticed upon sitting down were the flies all over the windows. Then the pitiful excuse for salsa, which could more closely be compared to chunky saltwater. Disgusting entrees and an embarrassing attempt at an «atmosphere» had us ready to go immediately after receiving our food, but we waited over twenty minutes for our server to return with our check. Unluckily for us, there was an Elvis impersonator on their stage that night, singing his little heart out as we waited. I would truly like to warn Unilocalers away from this place. It’s not worth your time and money.

The food is good. BUT, the drinks have a watered down taste. Including the water! I never knew you could water down water but these guys figured out how to do it.

Good food at a reasonable price. There was also an Elvis impersonator. Every one was having a great time and the wait staff was very nice. We will return.

This was my first visit and I’ll be back. I had the chicken sour cream enchilada plate which was very good. My wife had the taco salad which she said was«OK» but pretty average. The chips and salsa was quite good. The chips were thin, hot, and fresh. The salsa had a nice chili flavor. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. And the prices were very reasonable. Don’t be surprised when you enter — this place is huge with a full bar and Mexican Elvis on Thursdays. That alone ought to be reason enough to give this place a try.

Much improved over the last visit! Party of nine, everybody’s food was hot, fresh and authentic. Service was great, our waitress totally got the group dynamic and got every single thing right. The kitchen accidentally put cheese on my 3 year old nephew’s taco, which for reasons I’ll never understand, he doesn’t like, but it was easily fixed. Highly recommend the Leon combo. A beef enchilada, chicken enchilada and a pork gordita. Wow. I wanted to eat it all, but it was too much. But I had plenty of offers to help, so nothing went to waste.

This place is great. Go here for the music and live band. We go here for the liquor, margaritas, and live band. Also every once in awhile I get the sopa pias.(I dont even know if thats spelled right) Our waitress always treats us great and she would dance with us but they don’t allow staff to join us on the dance floor. Yes, that’s right dance to Mexican music. Its so great! We call her Ravioli mainly because we can never hear her name since the music and festival is nonstop. This is great for a chill saturday if you want a complete change of pace from the dallas uptown scene. Overall great place, and my go to spot for a local hang out near my neighborhood. The food is good for me but snobs etc will complain because .when don’t they?

Two stars is for when«Elvis» is playing. Other than that I wouldn’t go back for the food alone. The salsa was tasty and the chips warm and good, but nachos and enchiladas were nothing to write home about. The food at Mexicali nearby on Northwest Hwy. is ten times better. Our biggest problem was the language barrier. It turned into downright frustrating at times.

One of my favorite Mexican dives. Go for the experience on a night when Domingo, the Mexican Elvis is performing. This place draws a remarkable mix of Anglo, Hispanic, families with kids, old folks, and hipster couples. The common denominator seems to be that everyone has a lot of fun. The food is alright, but the real appeal is the authentic vibe and festive atmosphere. I can’t imagine what happened with those who complained of poor service. For us, the friendly staff has always been one of the draws, and our waitress kept the cervezas coming, even with a big crowd.

Uh. yeah…don’t think so. NEVERAGAIN. This place is so crappy it’s almost not even writing a review. There on Thursday nights for the Mexican Elvis show. Completely ill prepared for a crowd they get most likely every Thursday. not to mention. the tables were RESERVED. so its not like they did not expect this crowd. One bartender. two servers for about 100 people. They were completely unapologetic about the lack of service. It SUCKS beyond compare, waited over an hour and finally just left… WITHMYMARGARITAGLASS.so.BOOYA. Sorry sweaty Mexican Elvis. you were fun. but never going back to this craphole again. I can get watered down margaritas anywhere.

The weekly, Saturday, hangover lunch spot was decided after reading Megan M.‘s review of Los Rancheros Mexican Café, and we knew we picked the right spot after examination of the menu revealed the«Hangover Cure» labeled clearly on the back page. The chips came out quickly and were still warm from the oven, and the salsa was tasty. We ordered some queso, and it wasn’t bad, although Sigurd and I both thought the consistency was too thin. We also ordered margaritas, and they were massive, but were a bit weak. Although, considering the size of the drink, maybe that was a good thing. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas, which was two enchiladas, one chicken and one chorizo, and rice and beans. The Enchiladas came topped with fresh avocado slices, and the enchiladas were cooked perfectly, the tortillas were neither too soggy or too crisp, which can sometimes happen with enchiladas. They tasted fantastic: they were so good that I kept eating after I was full. Sigard had the fajita nachos, and they also tasted great, and the order itself was large. Our waitress was nice and came by to check on us often. While the restaurant was really quite this past Saturday when we were there, it looks like it’s a big fiesta at night. Hidden behind a magic curtain was a huge back room with a stage and a bar. I would definitely like to go back and give this place a go during their dinner service. Viva la enchiladas.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Casa View shopping center is Los Rancheros Mexican Café. The food is always great, the service is always speedy and the best part of this particular visit was Domingo. The Mexican Elvis, as we dubbed him. My entire family converged on Los Rancheros last Thursday night to celebrate my birthday. Shortly after being seated in the back room(which is huge, this place is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside) Domingo came out to do his sound check. We let out a collective groan. I knew that live bands played on the weekend but didn’t realize that we’d have an Elvis impersonator as our entertainment of the evening. I figured we could always cut and run if he was horrible. I chose to drink my dinner — Grande Margaritas on the rocks with shots of Patron, gotta say the Ritas were pretty weak — and nibble off the surrounding plates here and there. Our entire table of 9 was served promptly and correctly — except for my dad… but he ordered something they don’t even make and the waitress misunderstood him, so that can’t be held against them — and our waitress was all over keeping our table stocked with booze, chips & salsa. Domingo began singing and I was sufficiently plowed to enjoy the show. Not plowed enough to dance(there’s a decent sized dance floor) but enough to have fun with the cheese factor. My uncle slipped him $ 5 to sing Return to Sender for me & he even serenaded me until I blushed into my lap. He was much better than I thought he was going to be & made the evening very enjoyable. Our bill was really high(they totally split it into the 3 families — righteous) and I was too drunk to try and figure out why, so that kinda sucked. But that was totally my fault. The entire evening was a blast and our table was taken care of spectacularly. Food — 3.5 stars Booze — 3 stars Service — 4 stars
