I’ve been to a few salons in Dallas in the last 4 years, I’ve followed my stylist throughout this time. And I have to say, l.a.r.c is the best there is to offer. Not only for the talent, but the atmosphere. I look forward to just being here every visit. And as far as talent goes, the true artiest create here. When you find the right home everything clicks. I loved my experience at LARC salon. I followed my colorist Molly-​Kennedy from her previous salon and I am so glad I did. The salon was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. As soon as you are taken back to your chair, they are asking you what they can get you to drink. Very friendly atmosphere. I trust Molly-​Kennedy with my dark hair because I know she won’t steer me wrong. I never go in with a plan because I know she will take care of me. She knows what looks good and she takes the time to discuss the process with her clients. I live in McKinney and could definitely find a colorist closer to me but I only trust her! If you need color, go see MOLLY-​KENNEDY, you won’t regret it. =)

All female salon with no drama. Love the stylists. This salon has good energy. Bad parking that you just have to get over and valet. Other than that the place and hair rocks.

I have been going to LARC for a couple years now, and have always been pleased with my experience. I have normally been going to Amanda, and she has always done an amazing job with my hair. She is a newlywed, however, and has recently been traveling a lot with her husband, so I have had to make appointments with other colorists.
Since I have always loved every colorist at LARC, I was not worried about scheduling an appointment with someone I have not previously seen. I made an appointment with Eva (coincidentally on New Years Eve and my birthday) and I was unfortunately pretty sad about the experience. All in all, my hair didn’t look TERRIBLE, but it was not what I wanted. When I expressed my concerns, she tried to convince me that it looked good and it was «exactly» like the pictures I showed her (which it did not and still does not). When I asked her to please use a toner on my roots, she reluctantly agreed after saying she didn’t have time. I scheduled an appointment for 2 days later to do a color fix, but when I returned she told me that there was nothing she could do to my hair and I should just wait it out until the color fades — all the while STILL trying to convince me it looked great and I shouldn’t touch it.
My point is, whether or not my hair looked «great» or not, it was NOT what I wanted. If a stylist has to try and convince their client that their hair looks good, that’s probably not a good start. It was extremely frustrating and rude. It might look good for some people, but it was not what I asked for. She barely seemed to care about my concerns at all. Being told just to wait until the color «fades into a more caramel color» (not sure how that will happen when its not caramel to begin with) is upsetting, especially because I go to college out of town and can’t regularly make trips to Dallas. I will be cringing every time I look in the mirror for the next couple months until I can completely die my hair to fix it.
PS — if you can make an appointment with Amanda, she is great. Rasheena is also a good colorist.

LOVE Larc! I always leaving this place feeling like a million bucks! The amazing, luxe environment will leave you feeling like royalty. Eva does my color, and gets it right every single time. I am constantly asked where I get my color done. I almost don’t want to share my secret! My favorite part about the cut and color is that the stylists are highly trained professionals who are experts at their craft, and who use only the finest products on my hair. This is very important to me, because I believe my hair is the accessory I wear EVERY DAY… and so I want it to look fab. My hair is one of my favorite features thanks to the handiwork of the ladies at LARC.

I love Larc Salon! I see Lauren for highlights and Amy for haircuts, and they both do an amazing job. Lauren gives me the perfect blonde highlights and always listens to what I want and because she is so amazing at what she does, my hair looks natural, but absolutely gorgeous. Amy does an amazing haircut and every time she cuts my hair, after I get home and do it myself, it still looks like I had it done professionally thanks to her fantastic skills and knowing exactly how to layer my long hair. Lauren and Amy truly care, listen, are both extremely personable, and I am thankful I found this salon. I am officially a regular customer for both ladies. Can’t say enough good things!

Whitney Haynes is awesome! She has been my hair stylist for at least 5 years. She really listens and has great suggestions. Whitney has been there for many of my unruly hair phases. L.A.R.C is the neatest salon. Friendly, calm & relaxing atmosphere. Don’t be intimidated about the parking because the valet is right there.

This salon is modern, artistic, and classy. I come in feeling droopy and leave feeling like a goddess! I have been following Kirsten Mitchell, my stylist, through 3 salons over the span of 8 years and this is my favorite one. The valet parking is free and they offer you a beverage of your choice upon arrival. From green tea to red wine, I love what they offer.
I never use styling products at home because I am always touching my hair and hate when it feels overly styled and processed, but I actually love the products here. They make my hair smooth and smelling pretty without making it sticky or oily.
Make an appointment with Kirsten M. and get ready to be pampered. Her scalp massage is heavenly and her voice is so soothing! I have sent several of my friends to her and they have become regular clients. Get ready to receive tons of compliments afterwards!

When I moved to Dallas 4 years ago, I thought «This is the land of blondes! Surely anybody can take my naturally dirty blonde hair to light summer blonde!» I was wrong. The other salon in town that I tried did an okay job, but it was nothing like what I was used to. So, for three years, I drove back to OKC every time I need partial highlights.
That was until I met Crystal at larc! The color is perfect, and the price point is super reasonable. (I think $ 100 for partial highlights with no blow dry?) She definitely knows what she’s doing.
A couple heads ups: she does have a tendency to run a little late. So do I, so it’s never bothered me, but if you’re on a tight schedule, you might want to book with 20 minutes to spare. Also, the guy who operates the valet (which is essentially your only parking option) is an absolute doll who never fails to tell me how great my hair looks and insists on opening my door even if my car’s parked right in front (read: even though it’s free, have an extra couple dollars in your pocket. I didn’t once, and I felt like the worst person in the world for leaving this precious little man tipless)

In my prior review I mentioned that Larc wasn’t very curly hair friendly. Turns out Oribe does have curl definition gels and creams and they are now free to use after they wash your hair. Happy Allison.
Also, sometimes they give you a bit of a head massage when they shampoo. It’s the little things.

I adore l.a.r.c and the staff. The salon itself is stylish and comfortable. I appreciate the friendly and attentive customer service the salon offers.
I love my color & cut stylists. Having succumbed to my root coverage obsession, I couldn’t be happier with Lauren’s work. My hair is my natural color, but more beautiful. I have dark brown hair, my highlights are subtle and gorgeous!
Amy is my stylist, she is fantastic. Always guiding me with good decisions. Her honesty and cutting skills are awesome!

I’ve been going to LARC since they opened and absolutely love it! The salon is beautifully decorated and so clean and nice! The commentary valet parks your car and pulls it around quickly when you are ready to leave, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I get my hair cut by Amy, who always does a great job! She manages to cut and blow out my hair in less time than all the stylists I’ve gone to in the past, and she does a much better job! I highly recommend this great spot!

I love this Salon, Tiffany Thurman is my favorite stylist. Make sure to ask for her!

Tamie Kettle is the colorist extraordinaire in this cool and relaxing salon that is definitely not the «seen and be seen» place I steer clear of. Great location off McKinney that allows for a little walkabout to the Apple Store, Crate and Barrel, Wild about Harry’s or… wait this is about my ‘do. I got sidetracked. Anyway, the girls at the front are very welcoming and patient when you are trying to book your next appt. but can’t quite pull it together (not that I would know anything about that.)
Parking is my biggest issue. Like there isn’t any. You have to valet which really chaps my hide. But the valet guy is very nice and speedy so it won’t keep me from going back.
If you need to get you hair looking fab then go to LARC and enjoy the oooohs and ahhhs to come.

Larc is a great oasis in the hussble and bussle of McKinney Avenue.
All the staff that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful and a hot cup of coffee was waiting for me as I walked in.
If you are looking for an amazing colorist, go for Ryan. He does a wonderful job but keep in mind that he is a colorist only and does not cut hair but is happy to offer suggestions of other stylists at the salon who may suit your needs.
Larc is gorgeous on the inside with exposed pipes, heavy wood and a very rustic feel.
Prices are competitive and they definitely have my business for many years to come.

So very excited to see the new LARC Salon on McKinney near Knox. Congrats to the 4 girls and Council&Craft for creating an amazing space. I’m certain Dallas will love it!
