We met some friends here after shopping for a couple of hours. We sat outside and there were plenty of heaters to keep us warm. We started off with the hummus plate and calamari. Both were really good. I had a Cesar salad and it was flavorful. The sweet potato fries are good as well. This location is pet friendly. The music was good and this location is chill.

Pretty cool local place in lake highlands. Nice rotation of local craft beers. Went in at the tail end of happy hour so it wasn’t too packed. Service was great but our server acknowledged that it was only her second day. She was very attentive and got the answers to our questions quickly. Had the crab and shrimp appetizer and it was great. Gotta dock a star for the velveeta queso dip. While velveeta is good, I can make it at home. That was my only issue. Check this place out.

Lake House, we have a bit of a problem. I’m lucky I usually don’t have to factor cleanliness in my reviews, but in this case, I’ve seen cleaner restrooms at truck stops. The walls and surfaces were grimy, and there was zero hot water, only cold(yes, I let it run a while). If employees don’t wash with soap and hot water after using the bathroom, people may get sick. This all sounds harsh, but the photos help show the rest. The food was tasty, and the service was mediocre. Everything came out slowly and refills were slow, but we’ve eaten here before so we already knew. Fortunately and unfortunately I had already eaten before seeing the bathroom. Sadly I can’t eat here again or recommend it.

I used to come here a lot… But I totally feel ripped off when they charge me $.50 for an ounce of ranch or any side like mayo… They don’t even let you know that they’re doing it. Very disappointing to see my neighborhood restaurant do this.

There are plenty of reviews that say the same thing(average to good food; nice atmosphere) so let me offer up my additional thoughts… If you need a «pit stop» don’t wait because the restrooms are singles. There was always a guy waiting the entire time we were there. Funny since that is usually a ladies room thing. If you’re tall, beware of crossing your legs and then scooting under the table. I’m still limping from the corner I hit. Not the corner of the table, but some support under the table. Just trust me and save your knees. If you don’t like the smell of seafood then you may be turned off. The people next to us ordered something that was super fishy. It made me hungrier but I also went home smelling like their meal. There appear to be a thousand bus boys for every one waiter. It’s like the owner has all of his sons working there but they aren’t good enough to be waiters. Cool place close to home. Loved the wings. Liked the crab cake sandwich. Fish tacos were okay but a bit overdressed. Booze was nicely poured(my priority). Look forward to trying the kitchen sink burger and more wings.

Went the second time last night for dinner and it was still delicious! The first time we ordered the avocado shrimp salad for appetizer, crab cake sandwich, and fish sandwich. My husband said the fish sandwich was good but not as good as my crab cake sandwich! Last night we ordered the fried calamari which could have been a littler crispier but it was still delicious. The remoulade sauce that came with the calamari was fresh and a perfect combination. For dinner we both ordered the crab cake sandwich with an sunny side up egg on top and fries. Totally satisfying! Great place, nice atmosphere, great food, attentive staff! Definitely will be making this place a regular for us.

We live walking distance from Lakehouse and have been going there since the first week they opened. My husband only gets the fish sandwich. I enjoy the flat bread pizzas and wings. They have consistently gotten better over time. We love seeing neighborhood restaurants like them busy.

The food is always super good, a nice casual atmosphere for watching the game or just chatting, and the waitstaff; always helpful and excellent!

Food and service was good for a typical bar. My reason why I wont go back is the massive sewer pipe smell. Whatever food I ordered was good but not enjoyed at all by the over all presence of s**t in the air.

Atmosphere is cool. Area is great. Food was wonderful. I got the soup of the day, which was the seafood with vegetables & then a chicken Cesar salad. My boy got the lake house burger. I didn’t like it, charred grilled, but he did. I did love the fries though! We also got chips & queso and I really liked the queso. HOWEVER. Our server wasn’t at our table much. We waited on our food way too long. Two other tables, who came AFTER us, were served before us… and I wait for a while for him to get me another beer. Food was great but service was so-so.

Beware of the hot dog! Don’t do it! Burnt and beyond dry. U need the dressing just to make it edible. It’s a trap! Run!

We love this place. Has the feel of a «local» joint, but with a nice, rotating beer selection and full bar. The food is always good, but ask for the specials. We always order the specials. It’s nice to have place close by that is always welcoming.

I wanted so much to love this place. I gave it 3 tries. Husband and I were both disappointed in the flavorless food(not even sure how they managed to have fresh ingredients that taste like nothing. Maybe need to go organic/non GMO or something), and the unfriendly service at the bar. It wasn’t crowded whenever we went so a smile or a friendly word I think would have been appropriate at one of those visits. Again, I REALLYWANTED to like this place, but alas we won’t be back unless there are no alternatives. :/

This is my favorite place, the service is second to none, Juan is a waiter like no other. Our bicycle club does events around white rock lake, we always end up at the Lake House for drinks and dinner afterwards. Usually a group of ten to thirty people. And they always, I mean always treat us great, food is always excellent. Prices are always fair. It is just all around an excellent place. Love this place.

So I finally let go of my beer long enough to write a review of this place which I think has the BEST tasting burger in Dallas. I’ve been here more than a few times and can’t believe I didn’t post a review; or was that by design to keep the secret to myself? I was there again last night after escaping from a long day in the office. I wanted a drink, their outstanding burger and a moment to collect my thoughts. I went to the bar and Adam took excellent care of me. Although I would have rather had a shot of Bush Mills(which they don’t carry), I settled for the Jameson. Sitting at the bar, watching the Mavericks get smacked down, it was good to have Adam and the regulars there to boost my spirits while handing me spirits. I barely remained on tracked with my dinner and did place my order in before the grill closed. Ahhh, the aroma of that tasty burger! And of course the taste was perfect as always. There is a spice that they use that makes it incredible and I’ll leave that for your taste buds to explore. On my way home I realized this place is within walking distance from my house and would make for a nice healthy mid point water stop(okay, who am I kidding, beer stop) in my long walks around White Rock Lake. For those that have not been here, the food is excellent. I’ve seen the same staff for way over a year which is always a sign of a well run establishment. I’ve had many items on the menu and all are great everytime. During rushes, the food is still just as good. The large crowds that show up point to it’s popularity. The fact that they are regulars points to many other great things about this hidden gem. I think I’ll make this my new pub of choice. After all, it is kind of near my backyard after a wee 3 mile walk. You need to give this spot a try on a nice day or evening be the weather nice or snow a blowing. You’ll be glad you did. Ask for the Bush Mills, but be okay with settling for the Jameson.

I am here way too much. John, the owner, always makes us feel welcome. The bartenders are always surly that adds to the ambiance. Always ask about the specials as they are better than most. It is a bit pricey but always a good time. Today I had the NY strip«bloody» and the Mahi-Mahi with sweet potatos and Portobello mushrooms. Tasty. -

Been here a couple of times, I’ve never been really impressed but on the same note I’ve never been disappointed. Food is okay and the service has ways been polite and speedy. The atmosphere the establishment has is nice, however this place is never brought up when looking to eat somewhere… Maybe we’ll give this place another try and hope to love it.

Mac and cheese is delicious, not at all spicy. It had a great consistency and they actually use macaroni. Milk based as opposed to chicken stock. good smokiness like a smoked cheddar or gouda. just needs a crusty top to be amazing. Very clean, new paint smell very present. During happy hour wells are 350, and beers are 5 dollars(but that could just be for the velvet hammer). I would definitely go back again. all of the food is reasonably priced. The most expensive on Entrée is 15 dollars.

What great use of this space. It is comfortable, casual, and best of all original. My first visit was within a couple of weeks of its opening, and they still had some service issues to work out. The main menu is fine, Where they shine is in their daily specials, usually two or three beautifully composed and creative dishes that highlight the seafood of the day. A recent special included: –Tomato & Leek Soup(with chicken) –Mahi-Mahi with broccoli –Spaghetti pasta with shrimp, baby scallops, black mussels, fresh tomatoes, Portobello mushrooms, and garlic– topped with a spicy tomato sauce –Herb-grilled Halibut with boiled new potatoes and grilled asparagus– topped with a jalapeño-cilantro tartar sauce Like them on Facebook for regular previews and you will find yourself at Lake House far more often than you ever imagined you would be. This place is good for adults as well as families, the bacon wrapped hot do is a hit with my kids. Stay inside for more of a date-night atmosphere, try the porch for a casual family meal. Drink specials aren’t bad either.
