There’s tons of great taco joints just not in this area. I work in Addison and your options for good tacos at a good price are limited. Granted this is playing a role in my review. Looks And Entertainment: hole in the wall for sure. One TV with the afternoon novela on. The place is clean, outdated décor. Not much to look at to be honest. Service: They only accept cash so be prepared. I’m sure they would get more business if they accepted CC’s sicne there’s several corporate buildings near by. You order at the counter then sit down. Don’t be like me waiting to be seated and the lady at counter stairing at me as if there’s something wrong. LOL. The lady was nice and service was prompt. Food came out within 5 – 10 mins. Food: I had 2 tacos of beef fajita and 2 of barbacoa. Both were very tasty, not the best, but it’s worth trying. The salsa was decent and not to spicey. The corn tortillas were crispy and not too greasy. They do come with cilantro and onions, so please make sure you tell them what you want on them before they make them. There’s tons of other places that are better in DFW, but if you live in the area it would be the go to spot. It would be something I would drive out of my way to go to.

Think Authentic Mexican Diner. Went for lunch and the food was awesome. Very authentic — they make it right there in front of you on the grill. You can either sit on stools at the prep counter or choose from about 8 booths. CASHONLY. The enchiladas verde were great — they had great flavor and nice spice. My colleagues had the fajitas de res and the carne de des a la plancha. Both looked awesome. Fresh made tortillas as well. Portion size was perfect — I’m a big eater and I was stuffed and the others in my group had to take food home. Great job La Picosa!

This place is one of the best Mexican restaurant in north Dallas. I love this place I probably go here every other day. There enchiladas in green sauce are amazing. Aswell as there fajita quesadilla everything tastes homemade. Plus the price is fare for the amount of food. I would definitely keep going here and will take friends and family.

Real deal Comida Mexicana, open late. No habla, cash only and it’s all good because it’s real taqueria style food. The barbacoa is amazing and the burritos as a big as a fat puppy.

So there’s two of these. Both have EXCELLENT, authentic style, open-faced tacos. Add to that the melon(canteloupe) drink… yum! My mouth waters when I think about it! We’ll be back over and over. Think — hot day, cold melon drink, drool.

We are from California and while Tex-Mex is great we miss REAL Mexican food. This place had all the makings of some real authentic Mexican food but it just fell short. My husband and I both had«street» style tacos. The Pollo and Carne Asada tacos were ok but the barbacoa was not. Rice and beans bland too. It’s possible we just caught the home-made food on a bad day, so I’m willing to go back and give it another shot.

Went here for breakfast today and it was very delicious. I had huevos con Jamon. It was fresh, not too expensive and very large portions. They have pictures of all their menu items, it makes it easier for us gringos to figure out what we want. I would like to go back to try some of the lunch items. Wide selection, friendly service, zero atmosphere lol. It’s not really in a bad part of town so I disagree with the previous reviewer… I mean if you are racist and scared of brown people than yah maybe it is, but get over yourself.

Just stopped by here on the way to my bro’s house one night. Pretty relaxed place, and the best part is, they have pictures for almost all their menu items plastered across the top of the register area. So you can just pick and try to sound it out. and you’ll be good to go. Wish more places would do this ;) Good job La Picosa. Oh btw. they are [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[CASHONLY]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]. I was gonna get some rockin beef dish, but then I realized I only had like 4 bucks and some lint in my pocket so. had to opt for 3 barbacoa tacos. Which… were average at best :) hahaha. They serve it with like a green and a red sauce thing and limes. not bad not bad, I bet some of their other stuff is worth trying out. will probably go again.

Pros– YUMMY food. Super Fresh, filling, large portions(one order of say. enchiladas is enough for two people). good prices. REAL mexican food(so the cooks at my job say). Just plain delicious… also, if you are a big meat-eater, you will be happy here because they give you A LOT of meat. Cons-Not a great area to be in at night… they dont speak english, I called in to ask what time they closed and the girl just said, «No speak english» so I just went, assuming they were open since someone answered the phone and all. But if you go during daylight, or night prowlers don’t bother you, then I would STRONGLY recommend you come here, especially if you like real mexican food. Its so tasty, not all that«fast» since they all make everything fresh and from scratch, but worth the wait, and worth your time.
