This is not your typical nail salon. Located in Salons by JC, it is a one room boutique nail salon.(I hear it has now moved locations to Mockingbird Lane) Ann, the owner, is a goofy lady and extremely nice. That being said, this was the weirdest nail experience I have ever had. I purchased a groupon for a mani/pedi. When I first walked in I was nervous about the cleanliness but after being there, it seems like a clean place. My appointment was at 10am and I did not leave until 1pm. It lasted 3 hours! I was not prepared for that. For the pedicure, she uses a small foot bath(like one you can buy to use at home). She fills it with water and adds a few things to the water and turns on the massaging function and you put your feet in. It felt more like vibration and honestly I found myself lifting my feet so they were touching it because I didn’t enjoy that feeling. Next, she put cuticle softener on and worked on trimming and cutting. As soon as my foot with the cuticle softener went into the water, it instantly started foaming. Now, I would have been ok with a little foam, however it was foaming to where I thought it was going to spill out onto the floor… it was up to my knees. Strange. The pedicure took at least 2 ½ hours! At this point she realized that she was running behind and the manicure was definitely rushed. She did do an ok job on my nails and does really know how to get rid of calluses. She kept mentioning to me how she doesn’t answer the phone while works on a client because its rude… Yet she took two phone calls while she was working on my nails. She did have another appointment after mine which she ended up being 45 min late. My advice would be schedule your appointment to be the first in the day if you decide to come here.
