People who know me know I love good pancakes and yes, Jusmex has great pancakes! I have only been here for breakfast. A co-worker makes a weekly trip here for breakfast and insisted we had to try it. Everything is real; hash browns are not pre-shaped, the eggs are real, the pancakes are real and not frozen… this is a great place for a chat meal breakfast. The pancakes are large yet not too thick to the point you’re tired of eating them after a few bites. And they give enough syrup; it’s the little things that can make you happy. It’s right next to the DART St. Paul station

Im a fan of this place the owners are very attentive and always ask if everything is okay. Chimichangas are big and the rice and beans to full of flavor. Belive me after you eat a chimichanga you can die as a happy happy men.

Quintessential urban Mexican food in the heart of Downtown. The place is shoved in an office building, and you really wouldn’t know it’s there. A really great lunch spot. The food is made to order and so good — not to mention cheap and fast. The restaurant is kinda a dive, but it’s a lunch spot. The people who work there are so friendly.

Visited here based on Unilocal.Ordered the pick 3 combo. Chicken enchilada, chicken burrito, and beef taco. I’ve NEVER visited a Mexican restaurant and reached for salt. Everything on the plate except the green chile sauce was bland. The chicken filling was watery and tasteless. The ground beef again tasteless. The refried beans were watery and you guessed it tasteless. The rice though fluffy required salt too. I’m someone who rarely uses salt and found myself shaking it over the entire plate. The tortilla chips were stale. Major disappointment. The staff was friendly. The prices decent. The food sucked.

The hours posted on Unilocal are wrong. Thank goodness i did not pay for my online order with a credit card! They close at 3pm weekdays and are closed on weekends. I showed up at 5 to pick up my order, sent and confirmed via the Unilocal app, and it was dark. Doors locked. Boo. Guess i can’t really say if their food is any good, but yall should know!

The best pancakes. I know, it’s a Mexican restaurant. But the pancakes are everything!

I really enjoy Jusmex. Not only is the location fantastic but the food is great. I’ve tried the brisket tacos, the big burrito supreme, the chicken fajitas, and the juslite special with chicken breast and grilled veggies. Everything I’ve ha is greatness! The salsa is fresh and unique. The rice and beans have great flavor too. The staff is super! I’ve only been here a handful of times and today they know me and asked where my brother/lunch buddy was(nice).

Went there at 11:30 today. Ordered the #6 Tamale Dinner. They did not have hot Salsa only mild. The portions were small and the tortilla chips were stale. Paid 7.13. I am not going back. There breakfast is good but forget about lunch. Thumbs down!

The brisket tacos were amazing, never imagined the food would be this good! A great option for lunch because they move quickly to get your food to you.

Don’t go out of your way to try this restaurant. If you work in the area and need a convenient restaurant to walk to that’s cheap this fills that need. It’s right next to the dart rail on the ground floor of the hardwood center building near the subway. That means if you’re not walking to it then parking is not nearby. It’s a cafeteria style setup and the staff is polite but the food is nothing to be excited about. I visit when I have little time to get food because the service is fast. I’ve had the enchiladas and tacos before which are okay. They come with the standard rice and beans. The guacamole is better than the salsa they have. The atmosphere of the restaurant is grungy with outdated seating and décor. Taking your food to go would be the best way to go.

Anything less than five stars is a plot by someone trying to keep you from the delicious meal that is Jusmex.

This was probably among my least favorite places from which I can easily order delivery. The food arrived in a timely fashion(they close at like 6:30 so it was either going to show up soon or not at all by the time I put my order in just before 6pm). The nachos were good — coated in gooey cheese sauce. I ordered them without beans so I can’t speak to their beans. My request for extra pico de gallo in their place went unacknowledged it seemed as there was very little on the nachos. The cheese and onion enchiladas were super cold upon arrival, and nothing special, so I wouldn’t order them again, or maybe I’d microwave them before trying to eat at least. Prices are okay and the chicken on the nachos was good(not great). I like Ebar better for tex-mex delivery in my area. I was hoping to love Jusmex, but other than the nachos, I haven’t found anything to lure me away from Ebar’s delivery.

We didn’t have high expectations for this place, yet we were still thoroughly disappointed. We ordered delivery through . Food arrived well before the estimated delivery time, which was cool. Tacos were just gross: cold, bland, soggy and stale. Fajita chicken was cold and chewy. The queso tasted like expired cheese food product and dirty mop water. The delivery driver was pleasant and the salsa was pretty good(hence the 2 stars). Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the exceptional Tex-Mex restaurants scattered throughout our fair city, but this was one of the most depressing meals of my life. I couldn’t have enjoyed this meal even if I was hammered drunk.

I bought a .80 cent coupon which gives me 5 dollars off my meal. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was good. Typical greasy spoon taqueria setting. Staff was super nice and very accomidating. I ordered a carnitas Mexican burger. Really its a torta bread and all. Carnitas that somehow didn’t make it into the torta was dry but with avacado and beans saucing it up no biggie. My total came out to under 5 bucks with the mexican coke. Salsa was good its more of the american style more chunky and more things added.

Food made when you order it kind of place(think Chipotle without the glitz). Large menu and variety(burritos, tacos, flautas, chile rellenos, nachos). Even breakfast. Everything I’ve had was good. Next to Subway and the St. Paul DART station.

Ordered lunch to go, delivered in 39 minutes during the lunch rush, was still warm, & the food was fresh & decent tasting. We ALL enjoyed our meals & would order again. In my opinion the white meat chicken Flautas & Guacamole were both very good. The delivery person was very pleasant & came right to our lobby to deliver the food. I would say… it’s decent priced for decent food. Definitely not Mattitos but will do in a pinch.

Sun overhead, it’s high noon. My stomach complains with a grumbling confirmation of the solar result; Lunch time has arrived. I stumble from the office building which I reside weekdays. Delirious, blood sugar low, I wipe precious sweat from my brow and wonder how much moisture I can lose before inevitable dehydration consumes me. The Dart light rail screams inches by, I’m delirious as lack of nutrition strikes. The constant ranging of the bell confirms the rail driver disapproves of the near miss. I fall to my knees as I feel a final shot of life-preserving adrenalin surge though my veins down the back of my neck. I think my final moments are here at last. The sun beating down on me, I have just enough energy in me to look up to the gods in a final plea for life saving nutrients… Then I see it. I see the words«JusMex» scrolled on an awning, in Microsoft Word-esque freebee font. In a bodily reaction to preserve itself, my brain assembles this riddle, determining that before me lies a restaurant that serves«just tex-mex.» Very clever wordsmiths reside within, indeed. I mentally chuckle as the body starts failing. I crawl inside and patiently wait in line to place my order. I can’t help to realize this place is a dumpy Subway-serving style mexican restaurant. I watch as my cheese enchiladas are assembled before me. I manage to pay the man and hobble over to a nearby table to ingest this wonderful prize. I open the styrofoam packaging and gaze upon my meal. Looks greasy, poorly wrapped, and very very cheap. I try the chips, and think I’m tasting ketchup in the salsa, but it’s hard to tell as the corn-mealy chips confuse my senses. My flimsy plastic fork cannot penetrate the thick and soggy enchilada. I manage to the pick up the entire cheesy wrap, and nibble slightly at it from one end. I decide this is the worst meal I’ve had in ages, and while my body is screaming for any type of nutrient to keep on, nothing laid before it qualifies. I slip into unconsciousness as I feel the blackness consume me.

I miss our friends at JusMex. We used to eat there all the time when we worked at Plaza of the Americas. Now we are out in stinky Las Colinas where you have DRIVE to get a good taco. Elite Document Service – one of our tried and true vendors – read our minds and showed up with a big ol’ pan of JusMex breakfast tacos last Friday. Tears of joy actually came to my eyes. There was chrizo, sausage, bacon and potato. Lots of salsa. Lots of eggs and cheese. I see why the Observer voted them tops a few years ago. I ate two for breakfast, two for lunch and snuck another the next day. And now I’m craving more!

I’ve been here many times over the past 3yrs. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. I generally eat here because it’s closer to my work as opposed to Poblano’s over on 1700 Pacific Ave(review to come later). It’s conveniently located right in front of the St. Paul DART rail stop. So your chances of having a homeless person panhandle for money is good ;). «Got any change mister?» «Nope, sorry I just blew what cash I had on a heart stopping chimicanga». Mmm, nothing like a deep-fried burrito to get the heart pumping. Each meal comes with free chips and salsa, which by the way is almost worthy of writing home about. It is one of the best tasting Salsa’s around in my opinion. It’s not spicy, a little chunky and has strong hints of cilantro & onions. On this day the beans were a bit on the runny side as you can see from the picture above. Eating them with a fork was definitely not feasible. I ended up having to use my chips to scoop them up against my rice. Seating can be hard to find during the lunch rush hour, but today I took a late lunch around 1:20pm so as you can see there was plenty of seating. FYI for you larger folks, seating is all booth style and the distance between the table and back can be tight IF you are a large person. I’ve lost some weight recently so I don’t have that problem now… as much.
