This was the first time and the last time I go into a Jos A Banks. Went to the mockingbird location. Wish I had gotten the salesman name. But didnt think about it at the time. I was looking for a new suit. Walked in, and a tall black man who was the salesman said hope you hurry folks we have about 20 minutes. It was 445 pm they close at 6 pm. Not hello. Just hurry you have 20 minutes. Also take the stupid blue tooth headset out of your ear. You look like a dumbass. Especially when a customer is trying to talk to you. And just generally try to be a little more professional. You failed at your job completely. I was buying a suit that day. And thank you to the professionalism of the women at men’s wearhouse. They got my business. Bought a nice expensive suit from them and was actually treated like a customer not a bother. So in short is what I’m saying the guy at Jos A Banks, your a dick and you lost a customer that spent over a thousand dollars that day for a suit and acc. I hope you work on commission. Because you lost a nice one this day.

I’ve been buying clothes from Jos A Banks for over 35 years. I know what customer service to expect. I went and picked up a couple of sports coats, some shirts and socks and here’s the 5 mistakes my salesman made. 1. couldn’t find me in their database and said all records get wiped annually(this of course is absurd and finally found me under my work number) 2. told me all the sports coats were 100% wool in response to a question about if any were silk, When i got back to the house turns out one of the jackets i bought was silk.(Sales fellow had no idea). 3. i wanted four shirts at the 3 for $ 99 price. sales fellow said the fourth rang up at $ 60 and nothing he could do. i know from past experiences that if he knew what he was doing he could have given me the fourth shirt for the sales price. routinely done and i called another store afterwards to verify. 4. I bought three pairs of socks and after he rang them up i realized they were two for one. He never mentioned it and seem surprised when i came back with a fourth pair and it turned out they were for free 5. this is the worst. he charged by 60% off for the two sports coats when in reality the«sale» was buy one at full price and get three for free. I might still have gone for just the two but the fact that i asked and he said the only sales price was 60% off meant he clearly had no clue what he was doing. Again i checked with another store. So bottom line. Not at all the service I’ve come to expect from JAB. Despite being less than a mile from my home I’ll stick with the Oak lawn store from now on.

Do NOT rent tuxes from JoS A Bank! Not only were some of them the wrong size, and I ‘m not talking a little big or tight, I’m talking pants that were almost a foot too short but also the buttons were falling off too! Our groomsmen all had to wear jeans bc their pants were ridiculously the wrong size. And they have done nothing to compensate for their mistake. Poor quality and customer service!

I don’t know really where to begin here. Joseph A Banks is known as a reliable brand, a brand standard in quality, and customer service in the men’s clothier business. They’ve been around for decades. The short part of this is I tried on and ordered a suit at another JAB location, the salesman at the other location had the suit I purchased sent to the closest JAB store in proximity of where I live. I just so happens it was the Mockingbird store. Here’s where the journey begins. My suit was ready to be picked up(this is for my wedding ps), so after work I drove to the Mockingbird location, and its about 7:30pm. There is only one car in front of the building when I pull up and there is a man in a suit, talking up a female who is sitting inside her car. I was gathering my order information etc before I got out of the car, but it took me a bit to get out. It hit me as I started walking for the door that the guy was a Jos A Bank employee. I’m not assuming foul play, but they were pretty flirty right in front of the store. I walked into an empty retail space. I looked around, I waited… I waited… and finally a startled gentleman comes from the back. No suit. Just a dress shirt, no tie. Not typical standard protocol for JAB. We exchange words and I explain where my suit was coming from etc, and the look on his face was of such confusion like I had just spoke in another language. I had even printed the receipt, the order #, and all the info directly off the website. He finally makes the connection, but begins SLOWLY walking to the back… but turns and picked up SEVERAL random suits off the rack and said«is this it?» This went on for quite awhile. He makes it to the back of the store and finally comes out with A suit, no bag, no paperwork, no nothing… and says«is this it?» I was livid. Upon inspection yes, it was mine… but I had to dig around in the inside pocket for any documentation. When I made visual confirmation… he just stared and said«well do you want it?» Umm… yes amazing salesman, I think since its paid for… I think so. That’s followed by «do you want to take it like this or do you want me to put a bag over it? Pretty sure a garment bag would’ve been better, but I took the bag and ran. Mind you this was a about a 20 min transaction for a pick up. When I left, the guy outside took a hint and went back to work. Sidenote: one of my groomsmen picked his suit up from the Mockingbird location as well and had a similar experience… only they lost his suit for 2 weeks when it was to be tailored. Yeah. Jos A Bank is a quality suit and brand, but go to the Sundance Square location and talk to Jim… do not settle for this convenient location, you’ll get horrible service and a case of the creeps.
