Loved my first experience here! My mom was craving chinese and Howard satisfied well. Everything was precisely cut and flavors were amazing. Also, loved substituting the shrimp fried rice with brown rice! The dim sum platter was a fun and delicious highlight.

I’ve only visited it once, but I will be back. The décor is very nice. I like the feel of it overall. The ginger dressing on the salad is refreshing and light. I really enjoyed the texture and flavor of the spicy crispy chicken. My server was on his game. I stopped in for a quick lunch. With mediocre service being the norm these days, I was blown away by his upbeat personality and how he was spot on with making sure my first visit was spectacular.

I’ve been a fan of the Howard Wang’s at NW Hwy and Midway for a few years now. This newer Uptown location has a upbeat, modern atmosphere. They have a plethora of authentic asian dishes from many different regions pleasing a variety of palates. I have visited 4 times now and have enjoyed consistent service and lots of tasty dishes. If you feel like something different? The Crispy Duck«Traditional Style» is memorable! It is also really good :) Enjoy, Michael«Hopkins» Taylor

I went to Howard Wang’s Uptown last night for a birthday dinner and I must say that it was alright. Although, I may be a bit biased because I am Chinese and I prefer the authentic type versus the marketed fancy type. The décor and atmosphere are very nice and fancy, a good place for a birthday celebration. The food was normal Chinese fare and some dim sum. The prices of the house specials were double of what you’d find at a typical Chinese restaurant. Being cost conscious, I ordered the Spicy Basil Chow Fun, which was good, but again nothing special. I probably could have gotten the same dish at any Thai restaurant, but the noodles were not marked up as much so I was okay with it. The reaction from the other party members varied from«best meal ever» to «We should have just gone to Pei Wei,» which is why I gave it 3 stars. At the end of the dinner, they sent out some complimentary desserts of green tea ice cream and fried bananas. The dessert was pretty good, but not worth another trek uptown just for dinner. My largest complaint is the service. My biggest pet peeve is when servers know they have an automatic 20% gratuity since we are a large party and don’t do anything to deserve it. She was not pleasant, always seemed irritated when we had a question or flagged her down. In fact, the bus boy refilled my drink and was a lot more friendly than our server. I wish I could have given the automatic 20% to him versus our rude server. Overall my experience was mediocre and I probably would not return to this establishment.

Mmmmm got my pork buns, two orders as a matter of fact and they were delicious! Everything i hoped they would be. The pork was rich and the bun was soft, the sauce was divine and the scallion added a slight freshness and heat. Will order again! The green tea cheesecake was also legit! It came from a freezer. was still half frozen, but it was really tasty and comes with two slices. Awesome!

Very impressed! I lived across the street from here for a year and never tried it, went for the first time with my mom and it was terrific! Portion sizes are huge and can be shared family style. Lots to choose from on the menu!

We had a truly five star lunch at Howard Wang’s on a lovely Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we were asked where we would prefer to sit, and when we asked to sit outside we were given our choice of tables on the patio. Throughout our meal, our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions and pointing out menu options. When we checked in on Unilocal we got a free starter of edamame, which was a great way to start the meal while we perused the menu. For my entrée I ordered the vegetable chow fun, wide flat rice noodles with veggies and tofu in a light, simple sauce. My boyfriend ordered the Atlantic salmon salad, and we shared an order of the Egg Foo Young. We both loved our entrees, but agreed that the star of the show was the Egg Foo Young. It was completely delicious. We couldn’t stop eating it. Seriously, we ended up with way more food than we thought we would, and we still cleaned our plates. So, to sum up, great atmosphere, fantastic service, and delicious food that we couldn’t stop eating? That’s a five star experience for me.

Awesome selection of food and every bit was as great as it looked. The waiter was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Mekong Mule was a great drink from the bar. Edamame was perfect. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I’ve had. Entrees came out looking and smelling great. Can’t wait to try this place again… Soon!

Don’t mean to spoil the 4 and 5 star party, but it’s about to happen. I went TWICE to give Howard Wang’s a chance to change my opinion. Sadly, my opinion didn’t change. Went with a friend on Friday night. I love the atmosphere of the establishment and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have alot of variety on their menu, but I did notice that it was overpriced. But then again, when you’re in Uptown, EVERYTHING is overpriced. Thank God that I wasn’t paying for it. LOL I ordered the Glazed Walnut Chicken with a side of fried rice. The chicken was okay; nothing really«wowed» me about the entrée, but why is the rice SOOOOO dry!!! As stated before, I gave Howard Wang’s a second chance because on my previous visit the rice was dry as well. I also ordered a drink from the bar, but ended up sending it back because honestly, it tasted«floral» or something; it tasted like potpourri. The establishment is okay, but I personally don’t think it’s anywhere close to the«hype» that everyone is giving it. Sorry guys, but I don’t think that I’ll be returning. It’s just not for me.

This used to be my favorite Chinese place. Due to their incompetence, my food didn’t arrive. I’ve had food delivered for over two years. I just wanted to thank them for not allowing me to eat today. Hopefully I get my refund for the food I never received. That request took multiple calls. Bye Howard Wang’s!!! This three year customer. I was stupid and decided to give y’all a try again. Cold food, the replacement looked worse that the original delivery. What happened to this place!!! So sad. Thanks for letting me go another day without eating. I need to lose weight anyway.

Delicious delicious delicious! If you want solid chinese food, this is the place. Get the General Tsao chicken(w/sauce on the side) and Seafood Splendor! It will not disappoint! Also another suggestion — finish off your meal with green tea ice cream.(They have the real authentic kind!) Service is also fantastic.

I like this pace. Although pricey, food taste pretty good. Soft shell crabs are delicious! Dim sum is alright but I only tried one piece from my friend. Chicken and broccoli was pretty good too. The service was rivers was attentive and polite!:) They have reverse happy hour at 9pm-11pm At the bar! Also, if you park at the garage valet next to the restaurant, make sure you validate it with Howard wang so you don’t have to pay: D

First time here to Howard Wangs. I really disliked the whole parking situation as valet is really your only option and it seemed to take forever to get our car parked in the garage. Ambience was nice and we waited at the bar to get seated at a table. The wine list was affordable and the mixed cocktails seemed interesting. We started with a free edamame(thanks Unilocal check in!) and ordered the seasame honey seared(tasted very similar to pei wei to me), the moo shu(delicious), spicy basil chow fun(good) and lo mein(decent). The food wasn’t phenomenal but I really did like the ambience and location. Plus, the food didn’t give you a complete chinese food coma like most chinese places give me. Overall, I’d recommend coming at least one to try it out.

Great food and cozy atmosphere. Reminded me a lot of pf changs with its own twist. Egg rolls were top notch and so were the lettuce wraps. I got the pork Hunan’s stir fry which was amazing– hs a nice little kick to it! The general tso chicken was great as well. The menu was very big and will appeal to anyone! We were with a big group, got seated right away and it was a fairly quick meal. Def recommend this place if you’re visiting Dallas
