Oh. Em. Gee. I loved everything here: my tacos al pastor were phenomenal and prepared right in front of me which is always a good sign. The pork was tender and flavorful, and every bite was solid. I also loved the chicken nachos which were made using whole corn tortillas instead of chips. They were like tiny tostadas. The salsas were well-balanced and had great heat to them. I really enjoyed my salsa verde. The black beans were also a great appetizer, and I like that this establishment skips past the chips and salsa – I promise you won’t miss them. I’d be remiss not to mention the delicious frozen tamarind margarita which had some excellent flavor to it, and came in a glass rimmed with spicy/salty/lemon-y salt.

Horrible waitress. Why should I have to ask you for what I need? & she would act inconvenienced with any requests. Tipped standard for sub standard service. I STILL regret not tipping in PENNIES. The managers response, «we’re all overwhelmed.» Wow… so it’s the customers fault? GTFOH At the end of a $ 90 tab, they tell me the credit machine is down. RAN out in pouring rain to find an ATM, but the whole neighborhood was offline. The manager said, «just leave your information, you have my WORD, no problems…» I had transactions going in an out of my account for a WEEK. The food is inconsistent, so I will NEVER return to this El Tizoncito. The Lemmon Avenue location is bigger & better.

Friendly service and great ingrediants but the food is really boring. If you are a fan of sauces on your food to enhance the taste of the food you probably won’t like the food as the high reviews would suggest. If you like your steak/wings without sauce than this might just be the place for you.

This place is good. They have tacos, tortas, sopes, flautas and more. I’ve tried the sopes and tacos & they both are delicious. The al pastor is my favorite. There bistec is too plain and dry. I tried the agua de horchata and I hated it! It has a powdery after taste and they put too much cinnamon on top. I’ll stick with my plain water or sometimes if I’m feeling rebellious a mexican coke.

Terrible. I ordered the taco plate: 2 tacos de pastor and 2 de bisteck. My dad ordered the same. That was 4 tacos total. Took an hour for the food to come out and when it did the meat was dry and so were the corn tortillas. I would have had better tacos at Cesar’s. I really wanted to like this place. I saw the starts and assumed it was going to be good. But unfortunately I was disappointed. :/

This is our go-to place here in Oak Cliff at all hours. Vegetarians love the rajas con queso. Carnivores will love the Al Pastor tacos or the brisket and potato flautas. The chicharone de queso is a great starter, good for sharing with entire table. Quench your thirst with a margarita de tamarindo and you will leave happy and content! Don’t be fooled by the strip center fast food look of the outside, inside there is a diner counter, tables and even a small bar. You can watch the cooks grilling all the meats and the to-go window worker trying to keep up with all the orders. There are some nice Mexican tapestries on the walls and the waitstaff is very friendly. There are a few other locations around too.

Ok I went in with high expectations due to the feedback left on However an important fact was left out. Indeed the food is good not great but good. The prices are too high for the amount of food you get. 3 flautas for 8.00 no side dishes just 3 flautas. The kids meals was what I consider cheap, $ 4.00. However the tortillas are mini tortillas. You get a choice of two tacos but leave out«mini». They are two small and won’t fill up any 6 yr old boy! Won’t be going back any time soon!

I’v never had such a giant cheese crisp before and man it was really good. You eat it like a normal tortilla chip and just dip it in some hot sauce and pico. It’s pretty good. The tacos are pretty good but you have to eat them pretty quickly. They get cold really fast. They’re just your normal tacos, no extra frills. The pricing is pretty reasonable at $ 1.25 a taco. Their complementary black beans are a little salty. We went with the appetizer sampler(nothing to write home about– normal taquitos and plain quesadillas) I love the sauce/pepper tray that comes with each table. They set it down as soon as you sit down. There’s two different salsas, cilantro, onions and limes on the tray. I did notice a lack of back pepper shakers. Is that a regional thing? My sister pointed it out and I was amused that the salt shakers were missing their other half. I don’t think it’s worth driving 30 minutes for but if you happen to be in the area, I would definitely suggest checking this place out. The food is solid and I don’t think you’ll hate anything you order here.

Um… I’ve had an experience where two orders of tacos came out over cooked and extremely raw :(I did tell my waitress and got one taco back. I was disappointed in their lack of of customer service in that aspect. I didn’t leave satisfied and vowed never to come back. After that, I’ve returned twice. My Dad drove here and I was like,” ugh! Why didn’t you let me know beforehand.” But he was hungry and obviously wanted to eat here. The experience this time around was just okay. The beans are under seasoned and I didn’t finish them. The tacos de bistec weren’t tough but lacked flavor, sazón. I wanted to taste the meat! I ended adding salt to one and let someone else take the other one. I hate throwing away food! I also ordered the tacos al pastor. They were good with lots of salsa to amp up a bit the taste. And they were okay. The bistec sope had a dollop of sour cream that tasted funny, maybe it was ‘Agria Crema’? To each their own and I let my Dad finish it because he seemed to like it. I’d say, «Don’t pass up the pastor tacos, but they were just okay.» Nothing over the top with flavoring, just decent tacos.

This is a regular spot for us! I love that they are open late! The service is great, and the food is always freshly prepared in the open kitchen. Nothing fancy, amazing prices, great flavor! Be sure to start of with a tamarind frozen margarita. They are small and strong. I love the chilli-lime salt rim. YUMMO! Two is all it takes to relax and enjoy the whole meal! They also have a small amount of premium liqour and several selections of domestic and mexican beer! For non-alcoholic beverages, they have aguas frescas(horchata, tamarindo, and jamaica), also mexican sodas and traditional cokes. The complementary black bean soup is a great starter. They provide each table with a caddy including two salsas, limones, onions, and cilantro. I love to add a few things to spice the soup up a little! We have tried each of the appetizers, except the crispy queso, which I need to try soon. The cebollitas, guacamole, and rajas de queso are excellent! For entrée I have stuck with the sope de Pastor for a while. It is filling and tasty, and at $ 4, who can complain? Also the chicken and potato flautas are great as an entrée, but we sometimes share them as an appetizer also! Last night it was freezing out, so we tried the caldo de pollo soup. The broth is delicious and authentic. Add a little spicy salsa, lime, and cilantro, and it was DELISH! Give this place a try and it won’t break your wallet, and your taste buds will thank you!

I mainly come here for a quick lunch at work. They’re fairly quick and decently priced. To-go tacos come with all the toppings in separate containers, which is pretty cool. Three small tacos are a decent lunch with nice flavor. The inside and the dining experience in the restaurant seems like it’s trying to look like some sort of fancy establishment. I’m not sure it totally pulls that off. Kind of a strange vibe for a place selling street-esque tacos. As far as street tacos go, I think the area has better for cheaper, but this is not a bad gig and it’s very convenient.
