Lucy made my daughter’s wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! I loved working with her too. Lucy was kind, patient with my decision making and my budget, and attentive. She even personally delivered the cake and put the flowers on it. The cake was simply beautiful!

So disappointed. I bought a half sheet cake here for 50 bucks(3 leches) due to all the great reviews here. Nothing amazing here, just your typical Mexican grocery store 3 leches cake. Oh and the milk even had a slight sour taste-gross. I had picked it up the day before my daughter’s birthday party and kept it in the fridge, so a little too soon I think for the milk to sour.

This is the only place you need to look for your wedding cake! The cake is delicious, it looked amazing, the prices are very reasonable(unlike most other bakeries in DFW), and Lucy is great and easy to work with. She has a book full of wedding cake ideas but she is more than happy to create whatever idea you have in mind. We sent her a pic of what we wanted with fresh flowers on top and she made our cake look even more beautiful than the pictures we had sent her!

Fantastic cake. Everyone told us how much they loved the taste and they looked great too. Lucy was fantastic. She was incredibly easy to work with and just whipped up a unique cake for the groom(chocolate with a peanut butter filling and peanut butter buttercream). It was awesome.

Love this bakery and love Lucy! She did our wedding cake and donut tower which came out gorgeous and delicious! She was so great to work with and very flexible. You must try their tres leches and tamales! Amazing!

Last minute, 15 minutes from closing time at 7:30 pm. Was on a birthday cake hunt 3 miles of the Joule hotel. This tres leches cake can hold up it’s best to the best of Dallas’ restaurant menu at CPD Provisions. Served after dinner, was so light and moist. $ 20 for a ¼ sheet that easily served 20 people. Best kept secret find ever!

I am so happy I found Del Norte Bakery on Unilocal! My friend put me in charge of finding a tres leche, three tier cake for her wedding. First of all, It was a pleasure to work with Lucy, who I believe is the owner. She was so friendly and helpful, texted photos of various designs to choose from. The cake was beautifully decorated, simple yet elegant design in the frosting. And OMG, the cake was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had, so light, so moist, full of flavor, muy delicioso! Everyone was raving about it at the reception! I will certainly return to Del Norte if I need in specialty cake in the future and so should you!

We were a little late ordering a wedding and groom’s cake. We found Del Norte and spoke with Lucy 2 weeks before our wedding. She met with us the same day we called, put together a tasting, and was able to bake our cakes. They were delicious and beautiful. Plus, it’s the best deal you’ll get in Dallas. I called multiple places around Dallas and Del Norte was by far the cheapest. They were also beautiful — we asked her to make a cake in style of Michelle Kwan’s wedding cake. Ours was not only prettier, but I’m sure tasted better too. She delivered the cake, we provided the flowers, and she arranged them beautifully. I added photos of our wedding cake and groom’s cake. My husband loves Star Trek and jelly beans, so she made a chocolate cake with jelly beans as the insignia and it looked fantastic. I recommend Del Norte bakery to anyone who needs a wedding cake.

Holy guacamole this bakery is the bomb! Purchased a tres leches(3 milks cake) for hubby’s 30th bday this weekend. Let me tell you that this cake is better than ones that we have had in Mexico. The cake was beautifully decorated and when I bit into it I was transported to heaven. Seriously! The cake is so moist and so light and airy at the same time. The whipped cream frosting and chocolate drizzle were the perfect touch. I will absolutely go back to Del Norte for my next cake. They also have all kinds of other goodies in the bakery case that I am dying to try. Good thing we don’t live too far away from here. ;) I also want to give props to the ladies behind the counter because they were super sweet and helpful! If you are looking for some amazing Mexican baked goods try Del Norte bakery and you will not be not be disappointed!

This place is a bit tough to get to, but worth the effort. I ordered a Tres Leches cake for an event and it didn’t disappoint. And the price was amazingly reasonable. They were busy, which meant we had a small wait, but hey. They were busy because they’re well known and liked. I’m not sure it would be a place I would frequent because I don’t live in the area. But I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

This place has the BEST tamales by far in this city! They go fast though so it’s tough to get them. You have to get there as soon as they open. I was so impressed with the customer service. I called yesterday to ask about getting tamales for Christmas because they only sell the tamales Thursday — Sunday but since it was Christmas I wanted to know if they were going to have some. She said yes but come early because they sell out fast. She asked me for my name and how many dozens I wanted. I told her I’d be there at 7:30am. Well I got there at 7:20 and sure enough they were sold out. The guy in front of me asked and was told we are already sold out. I was worried because I just drove 15miles across town to get them. I got to the counter and said I called yesterday etc, she said what is your name I told her and she says O yes I got yours let me go get them from the back. She didn’t forget about me and put what I asked for aside!!! So impressed!!! Thank you Del Norte Bakery!!! You are well worth the trip!

I just LOVE this place. Love… it’s not too strong of a word. I got all of this(and it was delicious) for $ 5: — 3 donuts(reminded me of the same donuts they had when I was in Italy — coated in sugar) — 1 sweet bread roll — 1 giant slice of tres leches — 1 cup of flan — 1 cookie — 1 small cup of coffee It was my first visit but won’t be my last. I feel like I’ve found a place that can truly make me fat. Soooo good.

Picked up a 1⁄8 tres leches birthday cake for my fiancé. It was not only one of the best tres leches I’ve had, it was also the cheapest! It easily fed 10 people(with leftovers) and it was only $ 10. I have to agree that the ladies behind the counter are so sweet and helpful. She even made TWO versions of the cake, because she wasn’t sure if I only wanted the 1⁄8 sheet cake or the ¼. I was thoroughly impressed and would go here again in a heartbeat. The cake was light and delicious, I didn’t feel like I gained 5 lbs after eating a slice.

This is a really great bakery! First, the ladies behind the counter and very helpful and patiently answered a lot of questions for me. The prices are good. I got all kinds of sweet breads, a tres leches cake and some tamales. That much food probably would have cost me $ 100 at somewhere like Breadwinners. It was $ 20 at Del Norte! I will definitely go back. A few years ago a corworker brought an amazing chocolate cake to my house for a party. I didn’t know until I took all these goodies to work that it was from the same place. It was the best chocolate cake I ever had(except my Mom’s of course). Everyone at work loved everything they tried. I really recommend you try the sweet tamales. They have a variety of tamales — sweet and savory. The sweet potato tamales were absolutely delcious for breakfast. I also tried the pork tamales and a chocolate tamale. All were so moist that they didn’t need sauce and had ample filling. I can imagine serving those chocolate tamales with dollop of barely sweetened whipped cream for dessert. Check it out.

Pastel de 3 leches(3 milk/cake) for B-day parties or to celebrate anything I’ve love their cakes for many years already. The sweet bread has been one of the best in Dallas. I remember Chichen Itza Bakery on Greenville it used to be great, but not anymore, but this one it hasn’t change in the years that I’ve been coming here. But, if we want no to gain weight this is not the place to buy, because you can’t eat just one piece of bread specially with the cold weather… mmmmm with a cup of Hot Cocoa.
