Deep Ellum Brewing Company

This is one of the best breweries I visited while I was in Dallas. It’s in a revitalized area near Downtown and parking around the location is free! They also have a good selection of their beers on tap and give out free samples to help you choose. I ended up trying their praline porter and the blonde, both were delicious and I recommend them. Also, they have card and board games to help keep everyone entertained.

Checked out DEBC for the first time this past weekend some friends and had a great time! I was able to score a parking spot in the parking lot immediately next to the brewery, but there is also street parking available. It was PACKED late on a Saturday afternoon, but there was still plenty of room outside to hang out and heaters to keep us cozy warm. Beer was great! I’m not much of a flavored beer person usually, but my favorites here were the praline porter and the coconut biscotti. Staff was friendly but the lines could be long and slow due to only having two registers. We moved inside later once it cleared out a bit (around 5:30pm) and they had some really good live music going. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!

While in Dallas I wanted to get knee deep in some beers so I went to the Deep Ellum Brewery. This place was awesome. Great atmosphere and a really cool patio area. Downed a pint of the Easy Peasy and Dallas Blonde. Both were on the lighter side but had great flavor. They would be great beers to drink during the summer! They have some standards on tap, and some rotating seasonal brews as well. If you are a visitor to town, like I was, Deep Ellum Brewery should be on your to-​do list.

Awesome place for you to hang out with your friends. They have live music and games. Out in the patio, there’s a food truck. I’m not really sure if it changes or if it’s always Potbelly. But we love Potbelly’s so that’s a plus too!
They have a tour on Saturdays. It’s somewhat guided and starts at 1pm or 2pm. Can’t say that the tour is exciting. They let you walk thru a small part of it, and it’s pretty hard to hear. Oh well. But the beer’s good! With the tour ticket, you get to try 3 beers and take the mug home! That’s a win! $ 12 + online fees or $ 15 at the door.

A Saturday Open House event at this place is one of the best things to do on a Saturday afternoon in the area. $ 15 (12 in advance, I think) gets you 3 pints of beer and admission. After that, the only thing that will cost you, is more beer. Mad fun. Live music, games, tours, beer, free stuff. Staff is cool and the place is laid back. It’s like a small block party. Best Texas beer I’ve had, and some of the best overall beer.

This is probably my favorite brewery in Dallas right now! I love all of their beers!
The vibe inside is cool and open, with big tables to share and plenty of board games, and my favorite, Jenga. There is also a store where you can grab some teeshirts or hats, and several TVs if you’re looking to watch some sports.
The only bad thing is the location. Deep Ellum itself is a very cool, up and coming area but with the up and coming part there are some negative aspects. The brewery faces the highway, and underneath it is a large tent city. So there may be people wondering around the area asking for money (that is basically all of deep Ellum though) and the brewery is located several blocks away from the main busier streets of deep Ellum but is still definitely walkable if you feel safe.
Both of those things wouldn’t stop me from going. I would just say don’t leave your car there overnight and maybe don’t wonder around alone after dark. CHEERS!

Deep Ellum beer makes me proud to be from Dallas. I love their beer and have been a supporter of the Dallas Blonde for quite some time now. I was eager to try their many other beers you can’t find just anywhere. In being my first craft brewery tour, I was easily impressed. It was a packed house Saturday and a little colder than I would have liked but despite the uncontrollable values, I had a great experience and would love to come back to just hang out.
The 3 full pints and choice of glass to take home was totally worth $ 15. The guy who did the «tour» kept my attention although we were shoulder to shoulder and at times he was hard to hear. And when I say «tour» I mean he talks about the history and brewery process of DE brewing and then a little fun facts about their beer. Lasts about 20 minutes. Due to the weather, the inside bar was also just as squished but after lingering a while we were able to grab seats and play a game of scrabble. The industrial brick walls, pipe ceiling and hanging bulbs make it a cozy and warm environment. A big plus is that the location is walking distance to Elm Street where we later walked over to Uncle Über’s and Armoury.

Okay Dallas, you win

This has got to be one of the best breweries in the Metroplex. The crowd there is always great and small stage live music makes the vibe perfect. A great spot for day drinking, the brewery is good about letting you sample before purchasing. They also host fundraisers occasionally and use their space well.
There is a main indoor area and then a large outdoor area. The indoor area has TVs and long tables. The outdoor area features the stage and a separate bar around the corner in the «warehouse» type area. There is also an area for food truck (s) and easy access in and out on the side. I have seen kids there but still has that brewery feel even with all the families. The staff is great and I highly recommend this place.

Love this place!!! Beer is brewed to perfection I’ve tried most of them and my favorites were the Morpheus that was a nice smooth yet strong beer, the oak cliff tasted like coffee, and the Dtown brown ale. All were delicious and you get a free glass with each purchase. So needless to say I walked out of there with a nice load on and a few glasses for my house. Lol. I can’t wait to go back to Dallas and try the other brews. Keep up the good work Deep Ellum. Awesome job.

Came with work people from baylor. We arrived at 12p. Ordered tickets online for $ 12 person and it was worth it. Only because they gave us a free glass and 3 chips for refills. But the tour sucked. We stood in one room and talked the whole time.

I think this was the best local beer I had while in Dallas. Great tap room and good outside patio. Will recommend to other friends visiting the area.

A great place to hang out at on the weekends! We bought tickets for the tour and it includes a glass and three beer samples. On the weekend they have a live band and if the weather is nice, outdoor seating and a food truck. The tables in the tap room also has many games for all the play. The UNO cards we used were a little sticky (yuck) though.

I didn’t get the full Deep Ellum Brewing experience, but I know they have a very nice variety of beer. I wanted to try more beers here than any other brewery in Dallas.
I opted for the flight since I wanted to try 7 – 8 of the beers, but didn’t want to pass out doing so. They have an array of stouts and ales, from cherry chocolate to coffee.
Unfortunately, since I had been drinking the entire day, I didn’t get to all the beers I wanted to try. I know if I ever go back to Dallas, this would be the first place I’ll go to. I want that cherry chocolate double brown stout!
The bartender was a bit on the rude side, but she wasn’t the worst.
Overall, a great place brewer I would like to visit again.

It’s a brewery, with a heavy emphasis on IPA — in an area of town that I would not want to walk home from at night.
Aside from that, the environment is fun, the back deck is great, and the staff is really friendly. Cool place to hang out if you like beer. It has a very laid back vibe.

I love breweries period. You can not go wrong with getting a few pints of some tasty brews with some cofriends (coworker friends) and calling it a night. Deep Ellum Brewery had been on my list of places to go for a while and during a cofriend’s farewell (bye Felicia, have fun at that airline company), I was finally coerced into going.
For $ 15, you can get 3 drink coins for 3 pints and you get to keep the glass! I have no idea where my glass went and I’m pretty sure someone else swiped it… But that just means that I need to return to Deep Ellum brewery for another.
The Easy Peasy is DELICIOUS. I had 3 pints of that and was running around in the outdoor patio area. There’s plenty of seating inside and outside — the weather now is perfect for some outdoor drinking.
Deep Ellum Brewery unfortunately doesn’t serve any food and you’re a ways away from an food establishments in Deep Ellum. We ended up driving from Deep Ellum Brewery to Serious Pizza and other shenanigans but that’s another story.
However, you’ll have plenty of beer to choose from. Buy a few pints and have yourself a ball. Also get the Easy Peasy, it’s just so damn tasty.

I’m all about the «Dallas Blond».
I watched DEBC grow into the company they are today. DEBC is located in downtown Dallas, in Deep Ellum. They have a tasting room. On Thursday’s they have tours, tasting and a food truck with live music. It’s my understanding they have the same on Saturday afternoons.
If you like craft beers, you should stop buy and give some of these a try.

Deep Ellum Brewery is one of Dallas’ best kept secrets. I discovered their existence maybe a few months ago? They have only been in business for three years and have been highly successful. The tap room/​brewery is homey and does not have a commercialized feel to it.
This review is for the brewery tour only. Tours run from 12 – 3 on Saturdays. They are open for tours on Thursdays as well, but I’m not sure if the times are the same. My group and I showed up on a beautiful day. A cool band complete with braided beards was playing on the outdoor patio, and it set the tone perfectly. A food truck was posted in the back selling pizza to cushion the hops and barley for ya.
We paid the $ 15 tour package that includes 3 beer tokens and a free glass! I love cutesy shit like that. It definitely is weird that they charge you for the tour given how tiny the brewery is, but whatever, we had a great time.
The tour guide was A.J. Eh. He had his funny quips that are well-​rehearsed, I’m sure, but he didn’t really play to the buzzed crowd’s sense of humor. He needed to lighten up just a bit. The brew room is pretty small, but they’re a growing business! I liked the barrels of aged beer stacked against the walls. It was a nice touch. I also like that they put a small bar out in the brew room as well so that we didn’t have to go back to the tap room for refills.
I’m not a huge IPA fan, but I really enjoyed the Easy Peasy IPA. The hops don’t smack you in the face, but eases you into the IPA flavor. Dallas Blonde is always a good choice as well if you aren’t into that strong ass kick. I like Dos Equis, so the Neato Bandito was a great alternative.
Should be a regular place for my friends and I.

So, the tour isn’t free. Who ever even heard of a craft brewer that charged you to walk through their warehouse?
And the beers at $ 6-​$ 8 are a little overpriced for a taproom. Maybe I’m just used to leaving Austin breweries drunk minus only a ten-​spot. This feels more like a bar than a tasting room.
And the pour size? What’s up with that? I have no idea what weird local laws limit how big you can serve your strong beer in Dallas, but filling a pint glass two-​thirds full (and dumping out beer to make sure that you’ve done it!) is minus about a million presentation points. Use smaller glasses if you need to pour a smaller beer.
Also: chocolate cherry stout. Bleh. I’ve enjoyed cough drops more.
But still, there are good beers to be had, the interior is spacious and has AC, it appears that there are occasionally bands, there are the obligatory table games to be played, and there’s a nice patio out back. Deep Ellum’s not winning my tasting-​room olympics by a long shot, but it certainly isn’t a bad place to stop in for a pint or two

Like a long-​distance relationship, I love Deep Ellum deeply from afar.
We did the tour during my 2 week stay in Dallas and it was literally the highlight of my entire trip. The tour was awesome. It was a great mix of info, humor and most importantly, beer. I believe it was $ 12 online which included 3 drink tokens and a glass which we still use. While we waited for the tour, we played tons of board games offered (checkers, connect 4, battleship, Uno, pictionary) and chugged their amazing beers that I miss so dearly. I’m a huge fan of strong Belgians and Belgium triples but it’s really hard to find a great tasting, insanely high ABV beer. DE had 2 wonderfully strong Belgians. I particularly LOVED wealth and taste. Like, I’d marry this thing if possible. Literally the best tasting strong Belgian beer I’ve ever, ever had. We liked their blonde and as a non IPA drinker, their Easy Peasy IPA was just perfect for hot temps.
If my suitcase wasn’t already at capacity, I would’ve packed boxes of it to go. Instead I’ll be wishing on a star that deep Ellum will distribute outside of TX soon.
If you’re ever in Dallas, this is THE best thing to do. Go!
