This is the 2nd time I ate food here. Thought maybe the first time I may have been mistaken but nope, this second time feels the same way. The food is loaded with MSG. My body is highly allergic to MSG, I just ate 15 mins ago and my body feels ill and my head is hurting. As we all try to eat and stay healthy, we have restaurants like this. I would never leave a bad review unless I feel like the need to. This has nothing to do with the service they provide this is the quality of food.

Located in a small strip mall facing the south on spring valley, east of the tollway. A small restaurant that can probably seat 30? 40 tight? But on a Friday night, semi full, but the service was great!!! All the food cook time was kind of slow. That or I was hungry and was watching every minute. I have no clue what the rest of my group got, but I got the fried chicken and fried rice! It was delicious, portion is big! If you check in on Unilocal you get $ 5. Great place hidden gem.

Reading my past review about this restaurant made me laugh because I recently returned to the establishment only to find slow service and horrible, underseasoned/bland food. I believe either the management/chef changed or the restaurant quality had really gone downhill. Either way, I’m never coming back here again.

Nice décor(kind of feels like your bedroom though). Great staff with delicious food! Happy hour from 4 to 7 pm! $ 1 Sapporo or other domestic beers!

Driven by 100 times. Maybe the strip center deterred me from coming. Seems nice once inside. Great service and nice ambiance. Lunch menu good. Ordered Panang Curry with soup. Overall it was a very good lunch!

Super rude staff, I ordered food through Grubhub and received a call not 10 minutes later with them refusing to deliver to me because I lived over 6 miles away from them(Which is incorrect) the man then proceeded to argue with me when I told him that they deliver to my friend that lives in the same apartment complex as me, then he HUNGUP the phone on me. Never again will they get another dime out of me. Bad business.

My usual Thai delivery joints weren’t open yet for delivery with it being 12 noon on a Sunday, so I decided to try this place out through Eat24. I have to say, the reviews seem a more realistic and honest on there then here as the food was considerably overrated. First off, the«chicken» egg rolls were your typical Chinese strip mall restaurant egg rolls, almost to the point of it being store bought and defrosted. Next up, the soup I ordered was the Tom Yum. They definitely used button mushrooms and the taste was evident throughout the soup. The menu did allow for an increase in «spice», however at a level 4, it definitely was not spicy and all the pepper seeds were just sitting on the bottom so you could tell it was an addition, rather than cooked through. Last, the Pad Thai I order was the biggest let down. I really don’t see how this dish could have gotten anywhere close to being 4 star or above. I do have to commend them on giving such a LARGE portion. However, too much of a BAD thing is BAD no matter what. The flavor had a strong Sriracha flavor and the dish was extremely dry. There was very little to no peanut flavor either. I had ordered it with chicken, yet I found barely any and it was mostly maid up of noodles and bean sprouts. I doubt i’d try this place again, but i’ll give them a 2 star because i’d have to try them out at their actual restaurant before completely saying they are no good. The End.

Because De Rice is located in a not very nice strip center with dark windows, I had no idea what to expect. Upon going inside, I was very impressed. The atmosphere is great – very nice seating, nice music, candles and fresh flowers on the tables. Their food and drink menu is extensive, and very reasonably priced. I was impressed with the portion(probably the largest portion I’ve seen in a Thai restaurant), and they have happy hour until 7pm. My server was Sky, and she was very prompt, friendly, and appreciative of my patronage. Only reason I didn’t give it a ‘5’ was because although I liked my dish, I didn’t love it. Too many large onion chunks. But because of all of the positives about this place I will be back!

I guess I should have read their reviews before ordering and picked someplace else. The menu is inaccurate so when I ordered the green curry, expecting the usual peppers and basil along with the eggplant they listed on the menu, it came as a shock that the dish is actually mostly green beans. I don’t happen to like green beans, so I threw that out and moved on to my spicy salmon rolls. After one bite, given the«not at all fresh» taste, I trashed them, as well. On the bright side, the Grubhub delivery service was fast. Too bad I’ll never use it again.

Delivery-NEVER again-I ordered… waited over an hour for COLD eggrolls… not a hint of warmth… THEN they were wrong… i wanted veggie rolls and they had meat. I had to throw away 6 egg rolls…$ 11 gone. I called and no one answered… ONLY dine in or order to go!-lesson learned

This was a little hole in the wall place in an unassuming strip mall. The food was amazing! The staff was super friendly! The ambiance was peaceful! My mom and I had the egg rolls as an appetizer, and they were what you’d expect from an egg roll. We both had soup: Thom Kha and Thom Yum. Perfect! I had roti for the first time a dessert made from fried puff pastry dough. It’s equivalent would be the Mexican sopapilla. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there!

I ordered delivery and it arrived in about 15 minutes steamin hot and delicious! I ordered the pad thai with beef, which was probably enough food for two people. My 5yr old had the thai noodle soup with chicken and he really seemed to enjoy it. Reasonably priced, tasty, and friendly delivery. Will defnintely order again. *just not a fan of the sticky rice and mango. It was really oily, so much that I did not eat it. Which is strange because I’ve made several different versions and have never even used oil in it.

I hate to write bad reviews about a locally owned place, but this place can improve. I dined in once and have eaten carry out that someone else bought about 4 months after. Both times the food was sub-par, nothing special. I had fried rice when I dined in, and I guess the staff were having a slow or bad day, because they did not seem to have much energy, not with me, but everyone sitting inside. As for the dish, the onions in the fried rice I had were way too big, and it was more like a onion & rice dish rather than a fried rice dish. A plus, the inside was very cool, as it was a hot day on which I visited. Unless you like this Place, I’d recommend dining elsewhere– many other good Asian restaurants within the surrounding area.

This is such a cute little place to get Thai food. I was pretty impressed by their large menu which contained about half Thai and half Japanese. I’ve been craving for Thai food so I went for their papaya salad and their kao soi. I have a pretty high tolerant for heat so I typically order Thai spicy for everything– but OMFGHOLYMOTHEROFBATMAN my salad was soo freaking spicy. I must have looked like I was going through some terrible break up because I was dining alone with my iPad on a Friday night and tears were welling up in my eyes. It got to the point where my nose was dripping. Ahahah the poor waitress kept asking me if I was ok. I ate the delicious papaya salad from Hades with glee and waited patiently for the Kao Soi. I’ve had this dish many times before at various places and I must admit De Rice’s version is not my favorite. The crispy noodles weren’t the typical light and crispy ones. These were thicker and harder to eat. I wasn’t a fan of the broth either. I was expecting something a little richer and more flavorful. The service is also pretty slow here. I wouldn’t come here if you were in a rush. I had to wait a while to pay. Overall, this is an okay late night option if you’re hungry and thirsty(the drinks are CRAZYCHEAP). I honestly don’t see myself coming here unless I’m in the area. +1 papaya salad –1 Kao Soi –1Slow service

Not impressed at all… Ordered California rolls and Spring Rolls… The California rolls were so poorly put together that I had to switch from the chop sticks to a fork because they kept falling apart. At first I thought the spring rolls would be amazing but realized they were overly filled with big hunks of lettuce and little chicken and shrimp, I had to pick a portion of the lettuce out to enjoy them. I don’t think I’ll be back… That alone was enough to deter me.

De Rice is a very cozy Thai restaurant with very friendly waitstaff and pretty tasty Thai food that will make you want to become a regular. We stopped by for a baby shower and we were lucky enough to have a buffet sampling of their dishes. Keep in mind that normally they do not have a buffet. However this is a great place for a baby shower, divorce party and maybe even quinceaneras or bar/bat mitzvah’s if your really into Thai food. My favorites of the buffet layout were the green curry chicken(sweet tasting), pad se ew, fried rice, dumplings, pad Thai, Tom yum soup and this other coconut milk soup that I forget the name of. For our large group of people(about 20) the service was quick and kind. Drinks were always full and the staff helpful and smiling. The food was great and done well. From what I saw it also looks like they have some really good HH specials during the week. So I know I’ll have to come to at least try some great Thai food with a few tasty beverages. When I’m back in the area De Rice will be on the top of my list for a second round of delightful atmosphere and quality Thai dishes.

I went here because I had a craving for Thai, but ended up getting the Crab Fried Rice and a side of fried calamari. I used my handy $ 5 coupon provided by Unilocal:) It’s $ 5 off of $ 15 order. I called in my order, and it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. I like that ! So, the calamari unfortunately was very bland and lifeless. It had Panko breading. I prefer battered calamari. Literally zero taste. The sauce helped a little. The crab fried rice was pretty decent. Good amount of crab, good amount of spice. I would probably still prefer more flavor. But Holy Moly! You get enough to feed 4 people! Overall, good spot that also delivers. I’ll try something else next time. I’ve been here before a year ago and I’d recommend the Spicy Basil Chicken :)

In an unassuming strip mall in North Dallas lies a small gem, De Rice Thai Cuisine. The exterior is smokey glass, and it can be hard to tell from the street if the place is even open, but give it a try. There is a lovely, if small dinning room, and very good food. For lunch, they offer a Thai bento box with rice, salad and two different Thai dishes. I tried the Drunken Noodles and the Red Curry. Two of my touchstones for Thai places are Tom Yum Gai and Drunken Noodles. The noodles were delicious, mildly spicy with touch of umami. The red curry was quite good, not as spicy as I might have liked but my palette tends to run«hot.» If I lived in this neck of the woods, I could see De Rice Thai becoming a standby place for a weeknight dinner. Worth trying.

Still a fantastic place, went there again yesterday since I was in the area(used to live near it, but now in Oak Cliff). Waitress was attentive and nice. They have stepped up the décor a lot since I was last here, and also now they have a full bar with some interesting drink choices. I didn’t have a drink this time but I have had one a few months ago when they first started with the full bar and it was pretty good. My meal yesterday was Kao Soi with Tofu(spicy) with a Thai Tea. Both were fantastic. I have had Kao Soi at a few other Thai places but this one remains the best, I have it when I come here probably about 80% of the time. It was just the same as it always is which is amaaaaaaaaaaazing. It is the perfect blend of creamy, spicy, and sweet. If you haven’t had it yet but are a curry and tom ka lover then definetly get this, just beware because even if you don’t get any spice it still has a bit of a kick. Maybe I’ll try out the Thai restaurant closer to me at some point but it is hard to want a Thai meal and not go to De Rice.
