I think the food is edible, it’s not bad at all, but it’s not great either. The ribs and chopped beef usually taste boiled then smoked to me… I tried a loaded potato and the plastic fork couldn’t pick up the food so I used a real one and still had a hard time as the potato was not fully cooked. I felt obligated to give it two stars because I keep going back cause it so close to my house and the staff is always nice.

Wow. I’ve had a lot of BBQ, and this is some of the best I have ever tasted. I could probably live at Dave’s(but I bet they’d get sick of me fast). I now live nearby and they’re going to see a lot of me, I guarantee it. Anyway, if you want some excellent Q, check out Dave’s. You won’t be disappointed.

I got a sliced beef sandwich. It tasted like it was made of cat. The coleslaw was equally nasty. I saw that the place had good ratings. However, I sincerely disagree. Also, there is a sign on the door warning you that you must pull up your saggy pants. So, that must be a common problem. I’ll eat elsewhere, thank you.

Good bbq. Good service. Great sauce(s). Dallas has a few good BBQ spots – this is one of them!

So I have been here a few times now and actually think the food is relatively tasty. That being said the awful customer service/attitudes made me never want to come back.

I decided to try their food after reading some good and not so god reviews. I actually regretted going there. I ordered the 3 combo meat of chicken beaf and ribs. It was tasteless, had no flavor whatsoever. It was like eating raw meat. It was a total waste of money to me., I will be trying out somewhere else.

My husband and I met up with my brother and sister-in-law in Arlington for the weekend, and since this was my in-laws’ first time in Texas, we wanted to find some good BBQ for them. Maybe it was because we got there on Sunday soon after they opened, but this wasn’t the BBQ showing I was hoping for. I ordered the turkey sandwich with sauce on the side; the turkey was moist and well seasoned, the bun was lightly buttered and delicious, and the sauce(which wasn’t really needed) was flavorful. My sister-in-law tried the chopped beef sandwich – at the cashier’s recommendation – and also enjoyed her meal. The problem was with my husband’s and brother-in-law’s orders. They both ordered the rib sandwich and weren’t aware that the bones. were. still. in. Bones in ribs on a plate? Fine. But bones in ribs nestled between two very soggy pieces of bread? Confusing. The guys ended up having deconstructed rib sandwiches, and although they said the meat was good, it was frustrating to have to take the meat off the bones themselves. Since this place does seem more geared towards take-out orders, as other reviewers have mentioned, it means that they don’t have things like wet wipes, plates, etc. because people don’t stay to eat in. It also means that you’re on your own if you order a soda(canned) and find that the can top is filthy and you have to ask for either a cup or something to wipe the top off with. Overall, the food was fine, but not the best BBQ I’ve ever had. For what we paid, we were let down. However, I could see having a better catering experience or stopping here to pick up dinner when I don’t want to cook; it’s just not a great place for a sit-down lunch experience.

I’ve been to Dave’s several times. The dining area is small and is more for waiting for take-out orders, which is normally been between 10 and 20 minutes. If I based my rating on their chopped beef baked potato only, I’d give them 5 stars easily. The chicken, turkey and the sauce are all also very good, but the ribs, links, mac n cheese, and baked beans leave a lot to be desired.

The ribs have a great taste. Some were a little tough/dry. You get a good amount for the price. They asked if I wanted the sauce on the side. I am glad I had sauce on the side because good barbeque does not need sauce. The sauce is good. The cold slaw and potato salad is good. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Don’t waste your time!!! This place was an absolute mess… First of all it’s very small, no room for sitting. It was hot as hell in there while we waited for our food. The lady had to tell the cashier to turn the air back on. It was our first time there and the cashier acted as if she didnt want to help us in explaining the menu. We ordered a chopped beef sandwich with 2 sides, potato salad and Mac n cheese, which taste terrible, the potatoe salad was not seasoned and had no egg added. The Mac & cheese had no flavor just a lot of velveeta. the wait for this was 25 minutes, so not worth it. The bun was hard like they never warmed it up. Definitely not worth my 10 dollars. I would not recommend.

I am a true Unilocaler I usually base my opinion on going to restaurants off my fellow Unilocalers.soo.. This place um I think is decent price wise the links taste alright. Although the employees were very pleasant and patience. I ordered the brisket and sweet potatoes. The brisket was average good enough to go back when I’m in the area. .but the sweet potatoes were definitely out the can they were watery and had a ton of sugar in them I would not recommend anyone ordering that.. Absolute the worse I had ever seen. But I would go back and try some of there other meats. The smokers there were pretty awesome I’m sure the other meat is good. 3 stars for the customer service that alone makes me want to return.

I have dined at Dave’s several times and it’s been kinda hit or miss. Sometimes the ribs are amazing and other times they are fatty and tough. The sausage here is always good but the spicy is a bit to hot for me so I stick to the regular sausage. The chopped beef sandwich is pretty decent. Over all good bbq, if you catch them on the right day and time. The free samples are a nice touch.

The dining room inside Dave’s was tiny, much smaller than the Subway next door. The patrons in line ahead of me were all receiving their orders in styrofoam containers, so clearly this is more of a take-out and catering operation. I ordered a Combo Dinner #2 of ribs and sausage with potato salad and mac n’ cheese on the side. The menu offered either mild or spicy for the sausage, though no one asked which version I wanted. Rather than speaking up, I decided to just wait and see what the result would be. The potato salad was very heavy on the mustard. There seemed to be some black pepper and veggies sprinkled throughout, but I couldn’t taste either of them. The mac and cheese looked like run-of-the-mill Easy Mac, and it tasted like it too. It had almost no flavor aside from the Velveeta. My sausage came pre-sliced and looked store-bought. I found a decent snap to the casing when I bit in, as well as a fair amount of spice. There was a little heat to the sausage, but not enough to really label it «spicy» as far as I’m concerned. Despite the smoker churning out front, I couldn’t taste much smoke. Overall, it tasted like a breakfast sausage patty. The combo came with three ribs which I couldn’t really describe as either spare ribs or St. Louis ribs. The rib tips had been removed, but they were also included in my order, so it was more like a weird hybrid. There was a moderate amount of smoke at least, but not much seasoning. The fat wasn’t rendered nearly as much as it should have been. Another hour or so in the smoker would have done wonders for the ribs. I called it quits after just one rib. I feel bad giving Dave’s Bar-B-Que such a low rating. The employees were all so nice that I really wanted to like their food, but it just wasn’t happening.

Let me start off by saying I’m sooooooooo indecisive it takes me forever to order! I went with the stuffed baked potato chopped beef awesome I ordered a side of greens they where ok. We went around 4 on a Sunday no mac and cheese no ribs no regular sausage. The spicy sausage was hot but the after taste was amazing, which is made in house. The bbq sausage was sweet and tangy the way I like(thick). I ordered a peach cobbler and didn’t get it. That where also out of cake. I tried a sample of the chicken while I was there it was juicy good taste.

Oh smokey, meaty gods of unctuous morsels, thank you for Mr. Dave and his BBQ. I will lend this tasty BBQ to a cross between Texas and KCBBQ. The ribs are done very well with a good amount of smoke put on them; even if the ends lacked some juiciness the flavor made more than up for them being a bit tough. The spicy sausage I also ordered only to find out after sampling some from my box(awaiting coworkers) is made INHOUSE with Mr. Dave’s recipe! Spicy juicy and extremely tasty! The sauce appears and from the taste lends itself to a thicker, ketchup and molasses based sauce with some kick and a solid shot of black pepper. I liked it quite a bit and even dipped the dryer rib portions in. This is where I think when I heat these up I will baste on some sauce and hit them in the broiler to put some wet /glaze into them. We all enjoyed our selections and I’ve been told by coworkers the potato salad is spot on, but the greens were flat. All in all not enough to take a point. It’s BBQ, not a side factory. ;)

Man, I thought this place was pretty legit! Seems family owned and run. I guess they do way more take out business as this place is teeny tiny. You walk in the door, there are benches along the wall, and 3 tables. A stand up cooler for their soft drinks, and a window to order. That’s it. The walls are adorned with photos, awards, and letters all talking about the greatness my tummy should be expecting. Good enough for me, I’m sold. A friend of mine has been raving about this place. We took the drive over the weekend, and I was pretty happy we did. We both got bbq combos, mine with spicy sausage and the chopped pork, his with the spicy sausage and chopped beef. We originally ordered cabbage and potato salad for sides, but they were out of cabbage, so I got cole slaw and he got mac and cheese. For a bbq joint, the food took a while to come out. But good things come to those who wait. Due to the small area, I literally had a lady waiting for her food, sit as close to me as if we were sharing a bus seat, and I felt semi bad opening up my to go box of goodness. meh, she’ll get her own soon enough. Sides: Potato salad definitely had a home made appeal to it. It was mustard variety, but different. I dug it. Cole slaw had an odd key lime colored hue. It was weird looking, but tasted ok. Mac and cheese was my least favorite. The noodles were dry, and not a lot of cheesey ness. The meat came sitting on top of each other with bbq sauce poured on top in the main compartment of the box. The sauce was tasty, with a spicy kick. Add that to my spicy sausage, and I may have had a bead or two of sweat happening. I’m always up for a sweat induced meal though. Pleasure through pain. My pork was good, but fatty. Painfully obvious fat blobs were present. The meat was more chopped than pulled pork would be. The chopped beef was pretty good, but I only got a tiny sample. He gobbled it up in a hurry. Our meal also came with 2 slices of white bread, that were in the box. That resulted in a tad soggy, with sauce smeared bread. Next time, I’ll have to remember to ask for my sauce on the side. There was actually a ton of food in that box, so for 8.50 I thought it was a deal. I definitely want to go back for some ribs, or a baked potato loaded with bbq goodness. Meat wise, it kicks Sonny’s, Spring Creek, and Dickie’s in the nuts. And then laughs about it.
