The Dallas Hampton-Ilinois is a very modern rather newer building among the library branches. I used the information desk for research assistance and was helped professionally as well as thoroughly. They offer a great kid’s section with smaller reading tables, books in Spanish, and plenty of reading material.

I really dislike that this library is now attached to a school. Lots of kids in their all the time, and they aren’t all that quiet or polite. Also, now all their fiction books are all lumped together. Used to be that they were separated by type, i.e., science fiction, love stories, mysteries, vampires, etc. And they used to all have a little label of what type of book it was. Now it takes forever to find a book. Why can’t they go back to the Good Plan? Sometimes they have salespeople at the back of the library trying to sell their products. YUCK!

Nice new Building but too many people use it as a drop off day care… Staff seems oblivious to it and just stay behind the counter and check their face book accounts I guess, Security Guard seems to busy hitting on the Single Moms to pay attention to the Kids stealing the Books, magazines and anything not nailed down. or see the kid peeing in the corner. — I’m just say-in

This library actually has moved to a lovely new building at 2951 South Hampton Road. This library buzzes with activity, which is great. It has numerous computers with internet access and free WiFi. The building is spacious and pleasant, although it appears all the old fixtures also made the move, rather than being replaced, so the interior isn’t as snazzy as the exterior. The shelves look a little lost in the large space. I don’t always find what I want here, but it’s easy enough to go online and request a title to be sent for pick-up.
