As someone who has spent a significant amount of time and money at this establishment, I’d be remiss not to warn any potential patrons based on my experiences. I have met some of the nicest, friendliest people working for Dallas Public House as I have anywhere else, in any market or industry, and that is not hyperbole. Unfortunately, the most public facing individual of the management staff is completely inept at best and downright shitty at worst. Unable to retain the remarkable people whom he/she manages to hire on(through some sort of divine intervention, no doubt, because it sure ain’t the pay) and willing to burn bridges with regulars, this person is steadily and consistently driving this place into the ground with their shady and sub-par business practices. This is a shame, really, as I have many great memories of hanging out here and enjoying the friends and atmosphere. Despite these fond memories, I will never be returning. If you’re in the area, I’d still say to stop by, because although the particular person in question seems to desire otherwise, there are still some fantastic people working here and some great food to be had(try the king burger). Unfortunately, I would also have to caution against anyone getting too comfortable, as you will undoubtedly be disappointed in the end. Any good vibes you get will be squashed, and eventually you simply won’t feel comfortable visiting knowing how the place is run and how people are being treated. Ultimately though, I would challenge anyone to pay a visit and form your own opinion. In closing, I apologize profusely to the amazing men and women I’ve met who continue to work at Dallas Public House for potentially affecting any future business. I wish nothing but the best for each and every one of you.

Ate here last Sunday with my Dad for lunch. We split the Jalapeño poppers and Chips & Queso between us. Jalapeño poppers were really tasty, but the order only comes with 6 of them which seems a lot for $ 7.(Over $ 1 a popper. Really?) The queso was not authentic, but that also wasn’t exactly expected from a place that serves American-style food. My only issue with the queso dish is that it didn’t come with a side of salsa or anything. I just see it as a standard to have queso and salsa at the same time, but I guess that’s just me being spoiled. Haha. In actuality, I did like their food and I’m excited to try other things on their menu(especially those PB&J pancakes!!), but everything was just a little too expensive for the quantity and quality of what you get. Heck, even my Dad’s beer was $ 8 a glass. It was a fancy Porter, but I know you can get the same thing at Taco Mac for way, way less.

This place was SOGOOD the first year they opened. Now every time we go there, it’s pretty awful. One night I even had work friends drive completely out of their way to meet here on a Saturday and they closed 2 hours early because business was slow!!! My friends thought it was a joke! We ordered to go food last night and it just sucked. The wings used to be amazing. All of the food did. Not anymore. The wings were terrible. They changed their hot wings to only have Cajun seasoning on them and absolutely no sauce. The Maple Bacon Bourbon wings used to be so good and the last two times they have not been good at all. No flavor and hardly any sauce. Not to mention this place is pretty pricey. Our favorite bartender Clint is no longer there and it kind of makes us want to drive further back into the city. Even if it is a further drive.

Not a whole lot to add to previous good reviews. Living in this side of town your choices are limited, DPH was much needed in this area. Good food, good service, owner is there a lot and you can tell he really cares about us having a good dining experience. They’re doing a good job.

We decided to give DPH a try tonight. We decided to order chips and queso as an appetizer, ran out of queso, never offered salsa or something to finish out the other half of chips. We both ordered burgers since they had a $ 7 burger night, and it was over 30 minutes before the burgers came out. We both agreed the burgers were bland, had greasy buns. I had a Swiss Fun-guy burger that had one mushroom. No utensils were ever given, so I had to smear the mayo they brought with my fingers. We needed refills, but were never asked if we wanted refills until we were done with our meal. Smokers kept hanging out at the front door so that when the door opened smoke would be sucked in and make it smell like we were in a smoking section. Waitresses were all hanging out at a table in the back visiting rather than taking care of their customers. The lack of management(keeping waitstaff on task, noticing smokers lingering at the front door, and keeping kitchen food prep times within normal ranges) was disturbing. This may be a great place to go have alcoholic beverages, it is not a great place to go grab dinner. Very disappointed and will not be back.

When you drive by, Dallas Public House gives the illusion of being upscale. Walk in, and you’ll see that it’s not. It’s a decent, serviceable, family-friendly restaurant with basic items — plenty of burgers –good prices and attentive staff. We all had some version of hamburger. I chose«The Swiss Fun-Guy» with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, fried onion rings and a nice brown gravy to dunk the burger in. Would have been delicious, but it was over-cooked. My request for medium, was executed as well-done. T ordered the crazy-sounding«King» with bananas and peanut butter. He too thought it good, but again, over-cooked.(In essence, all of our burgers were cooked well done, despite the fact that nobody ordered theirs that way.) I like that the house wine is $ 4 a glass — generous pour, too! — and my husband’s beer was $ 3. Would I come back? Yeah … but I would forewarn the server that medium is medium and that’s how I expect it!

Damn good place. I sat at the bar. Had a couple of beers and a greasy peach. Yumm, I have also had the pizza, it’s good but not as good as the burgers and greasy peach.

Notorious P.I.G. burger was excellent on this trip, and the beer was excellent(Sam Adams Octoberfest). Great place to watch a football game. Much improved from previous visits!

Really good burger selection and good craft beer choices. They usually seem to have a knowledgeable bartender who will come to your table and help you decide. We started going here because the Paul Hand band was playing. Now we’re regulars.

First tried this place on a whim. We’ve been back quite a few times. There are times when you have a burger and say, «that was just okay». I have yet to say that at DPH. They have other food on the menu that is tasty. However, if you like burgers and don’t try them here, you are doing yourself a disservice. Be adventurous! Try the special burgers(right now, the Kegs & Eggs is on point — bacon & cheddar stuffed, topped with bacon & cheddar and a fried egg). The Afterburner is good as well. Their pizzas and calzones are good, too. Especially their Garbage Pie — tastes like a Jersey original! The service is hit or miss. Chrystal is awesome. We’ve had some really flaky servers though. The beer list is usually interesting(and if not, there are cheap, tall pours of Yuengling). As for the other food, it’s interesting but not great. I really wanted to like the captain crunch-breaded chicken tenders, but they are always overdone. Don’t get me started on the weird nacho cheese stuff. The live music isn’t great either, but the bands usually bring their own fans with them.

We’ve been here almost 12 times now in just a few months, so it’s only fair I give a review! We really love this place. While it isn’t really our normal type of spot(we have little interest in sports bars usually) we can’t help but enjoy DPH. The food as ALWAYS been excellent. Every burger I’ve had(I had tried them all till they revamped the menu recently) has been excellent(minus the King, which just wasn’t for me at all, but that’s more to do with my tastes than how it was prepared), the wings are pretty great(not the best in the OTP area but definitely up there), and my fiancée digs the pizza(she’s from south Philly and loves the garbage pie like nobodies business). The beer list is 9 times out of 10 pretty great for a place so far out here. There have been one or two nights where it hasn’t been anything special, and I’d love it if they’d take some risks with the selection and get some more exciting stuff. Also, don’t be surprised if your waitress doesn’t know a thing about the selection. It doesn’t seem like they do any sort of beer-training, so if you have questions I’d just walk over and ask the bartender if they’re not too busy. The beer prices are surprisingly good as well. In the future I’d just like to see some more interesting stuff. We’ve never had any actually«drinks» there(the specials are too fruity for us) but I’d be surprised if they weren’t great for other peoples tastes. The service is usually good. We love Chrystal to death! However, once in a while you can get a server who is distracted and not super friendly. The service is always fast though. Now, for the only real complaints I have, and they all come from last Friday(8÷14÷15): We had called earlier in the day to see if we needed to reserve a table for our party(we were celebrating my birthday and were expecting 7 – 10) and were told by a lady on the phone that we’d be fine. On arrival the place was absolutely packed, and all the large tables had been reserved. I’m assuming that happened after we called, and was just an unfortunate thing. We ended up shoving some round tables together outside and working out just fine(actually, even better, as the live music wasn’t…awesome). At any rate, everything was going as well as usual(service was great even when crowded) until a friend of ours showed up. Our friend is Muslim, and this is obvious from her clothing. Sadly, I believe this was the reason that our server pretty much ignored her. She couldn’t answer questions about the food(our friend cannot eat pork, for religious reasons, and needed to know questions about the food preparation) and openly laughed when she did not order an alcoholic beverage. Unfortunately, our friend is used to the treatment and didn’t complain, taking it on the chin. However, several groups of people near us began loudly saying anti-Muslim things for her to hear and after being asked to try and be decent human beings, only got worse. I grabbed another server to ask to see the Manager on Duty to try and get something done, but the server never brought him/her out to us. We ate our food, and basically just attempted to ignore the hecklers. I was saddened that no attempt to solve the problem was made, but not particularly surprised considering where we were, and the clientele around us. We left early and just finished the celebration at home. At any rate, while this won’t particularly affect our opinion of DPH itself, it is something to know if you’re curious about the crowds it brings. Normally, you don’t have to hear/interact with them, but busy nights outside definitely open up the possibility of having to deal with crappy folks. This and the occasional distant service bring it down from 5 stars, but I do still generally recommend it to people who happen to be out in the area, especially when there’s no real competition!

Great Beer selection! Constantly changing out different craft beers. Awesome food and staff. Best alternative to any sports bar around. Even T-Mac! Owner is the nicest guy. Always willing to make your visit better than the first.

Seems like a very new place. Food was very good and i can appreciate the hand battered items. However, service was mediocre and I was highly disappointed in the Cap N Crunch Chicken Tenders. They were super bland and did represent or deserve the name sake. I felt betrayed by the name of the item. They sucked to say the least and they were expensive. Nothing about this place will bring me back for seconds on purpose. Misleading food names bothers me. If it has Cap N Crunch on the name it better have that flavor in some way.

Ok. Came over here at a friends recommendation. Started with some wings. Crispy and tasty! FANTASIC burgers! I got the one with jalapeños and Bleu cheese and chipotle. OMG. Cooked properly(medium rare). Fries are okay for shoestrings. Onion rings awesome. Side sauces also great. Inside is also brightened up from the last place. Also service is dramatically improved. Solid.

Wow, wow, wow!!! We just moved to Dallas and was warmly welcomed into our new and favorite place!!! The service was top notch! Prices were very reasonable and the selection was awesome. Pete, one of the co-owners came over to our table twice during our visit and extended his welcome to the BrewHouse and asked us if we needed anything. Pete is a leader — he’s hands’s on and knows what’s happening behind the bar, in the kitchen and in the dinning area. We LOVE it! Our new and favorite place, close to home!

I guess I am bucking the trend… we went tonight for my husband’s birthday. As another reviewer said, they need to decide if they are a sports bar or a restaurant. Good news first… the serving staff is amazing. They are friendly and fast and were just great. Kudos to the owner for doing a great job of hiring! second… they have two hard ciders on hand(I’ve been hooked on hard ciders since visiting England). They are a little pricey($ 4.50), but it’s nice to have them on the menu since I don’t drink beer. Bad news… The menu is very small. Wings, burgers, about a half dozen sandwiches, a few salads, and about a dozen appetizers. They also had a few pizza choices. Prices for sandwiches and burgers started about $ 7.99 and went up from there. «Signature» drinks were $ 7.99. Fairly large beer menu, very small wine menu. The restaurant is fairly small, 3 rows of booths, 1 row of high-tops, and the bar. There is a half-wall dividing two of the rows of booths from the other booths, etc. The ceiling is the high industrial type, which means the place is NOISY. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation between the high ceiling, AND the bar, AND the music, AND the trivia game that was going on AND the 16 t.v.‘s. My husband got a burger(which comes with fries). He said it was very good in flavor, but it was small(½ lb. according to the menu)…it did not even fill up the bun; there was space all around the meat… made it look tiny. They either need to increase the size of the burgers or have smaller buns. His fries were awful(like skinny McDonald’s fries, but not as crispy) and he got very few(probably about the size of a small order at McD’s). I got a bowl of chili and a side order of fries. I wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering… my chili(as noted by another reviewer) was terrible. Although it has chili powder in it, I don’t believe it had any cumin(which is what really gives chili that«chili» flavor). It was served with a few shreds of cheese and a spoonful of sour cream. However, the chili had this bizarre, grainy, gritty texture. I could not eat it. When the server came by and asked how our food was, I explained that I was unable to eat mine because of the gritty texture(I had eaten about a ¼ of the bowl). She said she was sorry(but did NOT offer to comp the bowl of chili or replace it with something better). The side order of fries(which was $ 2.99) was very, very small. It was a single layer on a plate and, as mentioned above, they were thin fries similar to McD’s. I have posted pictures of both the chili and the order of fries(and yes, that was my entire $ 2.99 order).
