A community hub and safe space for a highly diverse crowd! The site of many drag act fundraisers, and one of my favorite patios in Dallas for smoking a cigar with friends. Staff has always been friendly, and an onsite barbecue food truck on busy nights has been perfect.

I noticed that they were in need of some wood to finish the doors on their bathroom stalls.(God forbid a man or men need privacy for a moment!) I do like the place and since they are such handy neighbors, I took the liberty of leaving then the gift of two sheets of wood, slightly used, formerly placed in the door frame of my bedroom. Okay it is true they were heavily used by heaves of men — but never mind that. And never mind the waist high hole either. I am sure it will be put to good use. Always Recycle!

One of the best bars in Dallas, folks come here for the first Sunday of the month Trash Disco and the leather crowd. If it’s not your thing I’m sure you’ll enjoy the eye candy while the rest of us have fun.

I live in Oklahoma City now, and I NEEDED to walk among my people and have some cold beers and hear some great music and just chillllll in that old school gay bar way… so I thought ROADTRIP!!! and came down to Dallas… I used to bartend at Brick Bar a few years back, in the old spot, so I thought well, we’ll try there, and maybe Cedar Springs a bit… I went to eat up on Cedar Springs, another review, Hunky’s, and the vibe was off on the old strip. just off. thrumming along and busy, fer shur fer shur, but it was kind of like a dog whistle kind of frequency. all around me, momos were cocking their heads at stuff like dogs do. but I couldn’t hear it, i couldn’t see it… then it occurred to me. THEY, hipsters, and their funny little hats and styles and beards over the weakest chins genetics can deliver— have come even here, and displaced the Polo cologne crowd. jesus f’ing Christ, Dallas used to smell like thirty bottles of Polo Cologne had been dumped every fifteen feet, and all the pink shiny scrubbed faces of the denizens(BEFORE Botox! AFTER Erno Laszlo!) floating above all that fucking madras and pink and plaid and you knew the Best Marketing Team The World Had EVER Seen had hornswoggled the ENTIRECITY into buying into the myth of grandfather had a stud farm in Ireland if you only slapped the logo on your tit… then My Salvation rested in one place only, I Hoped, and that would be The Eagle, Dallas, if I was lucky… I took UBER to The Eagle, and I knew from the parking lot, I was among My People… men over thirty five… some in costume, sure, but mostly NOT… then I walked in, heard good music, saw men bartending that were actually BARTENDING! like it was a real job and Why They Were There, not like it was their cross to bear while they did free shots and swivelled their hips and snapped their fingers and shot out bitchy one liners… the dj was a human and a live one, too. playing great music. it was decently full of fun men, all having a good time, it was TFA. truly f’ing amazing… I had a fantastic time, met some great men, shrugged off the usual zanies I pull from the woodwork easily enough, stayed two hours, which was what my self medication prescription called for. and UBER’ed back to where I was staying… It’s worth many return trips, I bet Sunday afternoon is a lot of fun… five stars. security, working bartenders, live dj, club was real clean… big fun

Love this place! You can be yourself and not worry about the pretentious ways of the other Dallas gay bars. Best music hands down in Dallas.

The bright carnival lights of playful marquees celebrating the leather lifestyle and a couple of clown like drag queens with frozen histrionic faces and candy colored make up and wigs sipping on cocktails at the main bar, gave the feel of an adult arcade. Down to earth, diverse, friendly and working class describes the clientele at this dive bar. $ 1 draft beer and $ 3 ciroc, which they were out of, composed the small drink specials. «I like how slutty this place feels.» I told my friend with a smile. «See???» He joyed. The patio is large, the place is cruisey and dirty like most leather themed bars. There is a store inside the bar that sells leather sex paraphernalia like harnesses and fetishistic underwear. Summary It’s the kind of place where I don’t want to drink out of their glassware.

This location was knew a couple years ago. It still looks new today because it’s very well-maintained! The place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights usually starting around 11:30 in the evening. There’s lots of parking but on busy nights parking is hard to come by – they have a small leather shop in the corner of the bar! They have a dance floor and large stage. They have pool tables and videos playing… The outdoor patio is great on warm summer nights. The crowd is friendly. This location is probably only second to New York Eagle or clubs in Los Angeles! I’m not a leather fan but it’s definitely a place you can wear your boots jeans and a T-shirt and feel right at home.

Even though I am not into leather, I do love the underwear nights on Wednesdays and just the full out fun, friendly atmosphere. This actually feels like a gay bar. Theres actual gay guys here, but this is not Cedar Springs, these are real men, like bears, older, mature. There are some there that look like they are more suited for Cedar Springs, either way the bar is welcome to everyone. I love the love the Eagle shows me.

I think this place is really stuck up. The old venue was great, but I don’t like this new one.

It was a fun first time here. The guys who worked in the shop were amazingly helpful and friendly. The bartenders were busy, understandable. The only thing that bothered me was that I had to pay an extra $ 3.50 for a cup of plain soda for my chaser.

Since moving back to Dallas I was in search for my local bar. In New York I had Bua, in San Francisco I had Metro(now LookOut) but in Dallas I had nothing… until I went to The Eagle for a mixer. Right away the bartender Richard was welcoming, personable, and quick with the drink. I had a good time and decided to go back a few nights later. Immediately Richard recognized me and made me feel like an old friend. The Eagle became my happy hour spot and I would look forward to leaving work because I knew I would soon be with friends, cheap drinks, and lots of laughs. What I love most about The Eagle is it’s lack of the pretension other Dallas bars can dip into. And considering this is a «Leather/Bear» bar, that’s an amazing feat! The patio is beautiful(weather permitting), the dance floor spacious, the bathroom tastefully graffitied and the crowd friendly. Great drink specials during the week and on most Friday’s a delicious model works out for you while you eat pizza and drink beer. Yes please! Anyplace you walk into and someone yells your name means you are home.

The staff here are always Kind and give great service. The owners do a great deal for the community. Great Atmosphere. THEDJ on the weekends is awful. he tends to play what he wants as opposed to knowing your audience. Play some top 40 stuff. It would be more enjoyable if they would just let me plug in my Pandora One.

If you ‘get’ leather bars, you can’t help but love the Dallas Eagle. Actually, it’s got to be one of the cleanest leather bars I’ve been to(and I’ve been to many across the country). This bar clearly does its best to cater to everyone in the wider gay and leather community. Early in the weekend evenings there are drag shows and fundraisers — but that all stops at 10PM no matter what and the Eagle gets back to its roots as a leather bar. The lights go out, the dance floor returns, and the music is turned up. It’s pleasantly dark to have the atmosphere, but you can still see what is going on. There isn’t a lot of seedy activity(sex, drugs, etc), and they seem to try to keep out people who are just too wasted. The patio is the place to be, with plenty of seating and nice open air, which keeps the smoke from bothering non-smokers too much. I love cigars, so I scope out a table as soon as I arrive. The bartenders are hot, skimpily dressed, and super friendly. Pick one and get to know him(doesn’t really matter which, they are all great guys). if you strike up conversation and take care of them with tips, then you get exceptional service above and beyond. This is my regular bar. I really don’t go to any other bars in Dallas anymore. The Eagle is it. And hey, you can always go shopping at the in-bar leather shop! You can’t go wrong!

New facility and has a leather store inside. I’m not exactly the ‘mold’ most of the patrons here consider to coincide with their leather theme. The place was dead when our group went and the only attractive person to me was the door person checking ID.

They’re super friendly as long as you look like them(bear-ish /leather /etc.) Though they’re COMPLETELYTHEOPPOSITE of a bar like The Tin Room, their attitudes toward«those who are different from them» make them siblings – if not fraternal twins. We know you have a genre to service but geeze, can’t you be welcoming to all of us?

First off I need to say this is a personal review based on my one and only experience with the place and I must say I’m biased against bars [especially gay/bear bars] as I generally don’t enjoy them. This bar was no exception. If you’re into leather, guys wearing near nothing, harnesses, jeans, flannel, and bears… you will more than likely like this place. Unfortunately I’m not a fan of any of the above except jeans. The inside was loud to the point where you have to yell at whomever you’re talking to so they can hear you, the music is your typical gay bar stuff, aka remixes of top 40 and most of them bad. The bar is located near the center and was easy to get to. The patio was a bit better and obviously the place you want to go to if you want to have a conversation. It’s large and spacious. My mine gripe is the awful music, the people that showed up this particular night were… well…gross. And on more than one ocassion I had the displeasure of coming across a very foul smell to the point where tears formed in my eyes and in one case gagged it was so awful. I don’t really hold this against the bar but more so the patrons as I’m quite certain it was a person and not the bar itself, unfortunately for a place like a bar, patrons have a lot to do with the atmosphere itself and this one had some questionable ones. So as a bar this place wasn’t bad, definitely one of the better Eagles I’ve ever walked into, unfortunately the patrons of the bar are definitely what deterred from better experience.

Always packed, plenty of bars and bartenders. The men’s bathroom usually has long lines which is no bueno if you really need to go. A spaceous back patio is also available, plenty of table and chairs for people to relax and enjoy their cigarettes. The dance floor is ok, not much of a dancer here, but plenty of people are. If you are there late enough, you’ll also run into a guy that sells tamales right outside the door, they are REALLY good, so be sure to save some cash to try them out.

This is my fifth«Eagle» bar visited and easily one of the best. You can tell the owners really go out of their way to incorporate the local Leather and Bear community into the bar. There’s even a leather shop built right into the bar. Inside is a large bar dispensing good price drinks poured quite generously. There’s a smaller bar by the dance floor and a huge patio space outside for the cigar and cigarette enthusiasts. Yay Dallas Eagle.

From my drunken haze, I remember having a great time here. Obviously, my friends are into leather so I guess that is why I ended up here. I remember accompanying my friend to some leather shop inside the Eagle. I think that is really interesting that they offer a shop inside this leather bar which makes it convenient if you are into leather that is.

From what I understand, this is the only leather/levi bar in the greater Dallas area — therefore, this is the only bar I went to over my 2 night stay in Dallas! What Dallas lacks in a leather scene they make up for in their only leather bar. This bar pretty much rocks. It’s in an easy-to-get-to location with plenty of parking in the huge parking lot. And, as other reviewers note, there is a huge back porch for all you smokers. Great DJ and dance floor and even a pool table. The bartenders are friendly and fun to converse with.
