I had been in this place a few times anxious to try it out but no one ever wanted to come with me. 95% of the wines were super cheap!!! But now they’re closed. SNIFF.

I am a spoiled girl in that I tend to hang out with people that know wine so, I just go with the flow. Ultimately, I have no idea what I am drinking, just what I like. My standard wine shopping is Costco where anything red, affordable and 90+ points gets into my basket. I am intimidated by «wine shops». I chunk them all into wine snobs and they will see what a naïve girl I am. But, the folks at Crush are not like that. They make me feel special and the pressure is off so I can just enjoy my wine and conversation.

great way to broaden your palate. I’ve been going to the wine tastings for the past few weeks and have been enjoying new wines. everyone’s palate is different so it’s fun to go with some friends to compare tastes. they are very nice too!

5 stars simply for the reason that Crush carries the largest Molly Dooker selection I have ever seen! Here in Atlanta, it is sooo hard to find a place that carries more than 1 bottle!!! how annoying! Molly Dooker fits right into Crush’s theme excellent wine under $ 25. As a matter of fact, Molly Dooker has some of the highest rated wines under $ 25– this reason alone go check Crush asap if you heart good wine! Staff extremely knowledge and quick to offer lots of interesting/useful info!

I really like the idea of this place. All the wines are priced under $ 25 and organized in a straightforward«for dummies» way that makes it easy to zero in on what I’m in the mood for. You can even bring your own snacks or order food delivered. There were 2 major drawbacks that historically prevented me from coming in more often: the space and the hours. But I haven’t been in a couple months, since the ownership changed hands, so things may have changed. They weren’t open late, but according to the website, they’re now open until 11 on the weekends. And there was never any comfortable seating, especially for groups. Though looks from other reviews that they’ve added at least sofas. Mental note: stop in SOON to check out the changes. I’ve always wished that I could wander by with a book alone on a weeknight, and perhaps Crush has transformed into the kind of place that makes that feasible.

Just visited Crush for the first time late Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it! Wasn’t sure what we had stepped into at first when we walked in and saw wine on tap, but the 90 minutes or so we sat there ended up being lovely. They have a selection of seating from barside, and tables, to comfy sofas which is where we landed. My friend and I both did a flight of reds — a pinot, a hermitage, and a blend of shiraz/cab/merlot. The pinot and blend were both outstanding, and the hermitage was interesting if bizarrely smoky — but all were educational. Both the man who served us and the owner who came and chatted for awhile were easy to converse with and informative. It is always nice to find a wine bar/shop that is nearby, comfortable, unpretentious, and educational. Ended up buying a case of one of the wines we tasted before the night was over — it’s called Two Left Feet and is quite good. Apparently it is Parker’s #1 pick of great wines under $ 25(loved it BEFORE I heard that, BTW) — considering that, and how quickly places are selling out of it, I think it is cool that they placed it in their flight of reds.

Hey, I have a confession to make. Don’t tell anyone, but… I’m AWFUL at choosing wines. I’ll pretend to know what I’m doing. I’ll use big words like Varietal and Vintage, but really all I know is that white wines are served cold and red wines stain my lips purple. Thank God for Best Cellars, which is now known as Crush Wine Shop. The knowledgeable staff tried everything in their power to turn me into a wine person. Ask for a Merlot for $ 15 – 20, and they will come back with several options and opinions. Or, you can sample a glass of the many bottles they have open each day. Recent renovations expanded the bar area and put in some much-needed extra seating. More specials line the wall than before, coupled with precise pairing suggestions. The shop is small, but you’ll always find good conversation and good wine. The owners pride themselves on finding high quality wine for under $ 30 a bottle. So, if you don’t feel like spending $ 60+ at Mercy or Cru, drop in for a low-key evening or one of their weekly events.
