Great local game store. I’m a magic player on the competitive side, I find it too be a bit more casual but still has a number of talented players. The owner is very generous(and a DCI judge) and even paid out full prizes to the odd pods when we had 23 players for draft(paid out 8 man prizes to the 7 man pod) healthy little magic counter as well, good number of promos and foils. Great place to play or just buy cards They also have tons of board games for sale(and a demo wall of games too) I don’t care for these games but they have just about all of them. They also have a bunch of D&D groups going, once again not something I do but if it appeals to you, go check it out. Also a comic book store next store so very good 1 stop nerd shopping/gaming. good local game store.

Great board and card game store. The owner is really nice. The store has a large gaming area where you can play games, and they have a decent game library of games to play.

I drove really far to get a game and expansion pack I needed for that evening that was about $ 23 higher than anywhere online. THEYASK A 55% HIGHERPRICE. YES…55%!!! I didn’t ask the price(my fault) when I called. I would of gladly paid $ 5 dollars more and considering the limited distribution of the game the manufacturer made it public the wholesale price. I’m all about helping a small business and paying a bit more but doubt I’d make the effort to return with those prices. More than likely a majority of the items in this store are GROSSLY inflated.

How in the heck have I not reviewed Common Ground? Shame on me! Common Ground is one of my favorite stores in DFW to frequent. The owner(Jameson) runs an awesome shop here. Here’s a quick summary of reasons why I’d recommend it: –They have an excellent«frequent customer» program, which is similar to all of the other decent game stores in the area – Buy 10, get the next one free. –Jameson and the customers that frequent this establishment really add to the awesome vibe of the store. I’ve gotten some GREAT game recommendations here that I may not have bought otherwise.(Mr. Jack, Zombicide, and Love Letter all come to mind off the top of my head. And there have been many others.) –Pricing is very reasonable. And – their selection is quite good! Their sale rack has had some killer deals(which I have taken advantage of in the past!) –Like all game stores worth their salt, the community of the store is definitely a draw. –It’s right next to Zeus, which is a darn good comic shop. This pairs well.(I’m not a comics geek, but Zeus has pulled me in a few times as well.) They just expanded, and I haven’t been in to see the new expansion.(I really need to go check it out…) Again, it’s not the biggest store in DFW, but it’s on the short list of my favorites.(And, the large ones really aren’t!) This store is in the«sweet spot» of gaming stores – not too big, not too small, and«just right» for brining in the right folks.(I also really like that it’s JUST games and gaming stuff – and that Comics are next door. Nothing against comics, but most stores have kind of a personality conflict between comics and games, and this can be kind of confusing sometimes.) It’s definitely worth a visit.

Probably one of the best game stores in DFW. Jameson is awesome at recommending games to customers and always remembers customers. Before we moved to DFW, we would visit every few months and he always remembered us. CGG always has the newest games in stock. One of the best!

If you love gaming… THISISTHEPLACE! It’s simple… if you don’t believe me, go try it out. The location has easy access, parking, and the staff is AWESOME! They love what they do and it shows. If you have a question, they don’t treat you like an idiot, they answer it with enthusiasm. They truly WANT you to enjoy gaming and NOT the type in front of monitor. LOVE this place.

We came to this store on a whim and it was an amazing experience. The owner Jamison has a real passion of games. It was clear that we could ask him about any game on his wall and he could talk us through it. On top of having a large selection of games that are demo copies so you can try out in store. They have a new employee who did an amazing job recommending another game to a co-worker. In general we felt they had a real passion and knowledge of the product they sell. I would visit or refer a friend to this store in a heartbeat.

This store is the oasis in the desert. I got back in to playing magic a couple years ago and found it at least mildly inconvenient to drive and find a place that was somewhat near downtown. I bounced from shop to shop and kept coming up with reasons not to go play. One store was too far, one was smelly(I kid you not, I could smell b.o. the moment I opened the door), and at a few the customer base was rude and unwelcoming. A friend of mine stumbled across CGG and recommended I give them a try. Im so glad I did! This store cultivates a friendly environment for players to come and improve their skills. Everyone has been very welcoming and warm and Jameson(the owner) is exceedingly helpful if you have questions or need to order something he doesn’t normally carry. If I had any complaint at all it would be the size of the store(and even that is a small complaint). It can get a little crowded sometimes, especially if a tournament is going on but even then the store is capable of handling it. All in all, I’m just elated to find a place that is near me and has great service(and never has an unpleasant smell).

CGG is one of my favorite local hangouts — and not just because I adore Jamison and DR! It’s conveniently located right off of I-35(and next door to Zeus Comics). The patrons are so friendly and I have so much fun there, that I’ve been indulging in a long-forgotten, guilty pleasure — Magic the Gathering. I used to play casually, long, long ago with a handful of pals. I’ve become a semi-regular at FNM and drafts. They’ve also started a Tuesday night Commander league with great prize support. The people that play there are so helpful and they don’t get bent out of shape when I make the inevitable play mistake. If Magic isn’t your thing, they have a huge demo wall full of games for people to try. Jamison is really great at teaching people new games. There’s also a demo night on Wednesdays where the über patient and knowledgeable Professor Michael demos and plays new games. He’s taught me almost every game I know! They also run tournaments for Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Heroclix, and other games that I can’t remember off the top of my head. You get the idea… there’s always fun stuff going on! If you subscribe to the newsletter, or follow the store on Facebook, they keep you updated on all the upcoming events, sales, and new merchandise. I’ve gotten some great deals, like MTG starter packs for $ 10 and Shadowhunters for 30% off on Halloween. I always earn $ 5 off rewards too, with their free loyalty program. Oh, and the MTG singles are competitively priced as well. I scored some great gifts around the holidays and Jamison even got them wrapped for me. He’s such a peach! Even though the store is small, the selection is great because the owners are gamers themselves. Jamison is also happy to order hard-to-find or out of stock items and they usually arrive in about a week. He even special-ordered Titty Grab for me when I needed a gag gift. The service here is EXCELLENT. To summarize: I LOVETHISPLACE!

The staff is really friendly, they have an area to play tournament-style games(for about 40 people), and they have a good variety of games. The shop is not very large, so the number of games is limited. Sad to say, besides for a small selection of sale items, most of the games are sold at retail price, thus making online stores a better buy(how they do it, I just don’t know). Of course, if you become a member, you can get discounts!

Awesome store! Jamison(owner) is very nice and knowledgable. There is a wall of game demos as well for you to try out games before buying. The players are also very nice spectrum of new players and veterans. Come check it out

This quirky and much needed addition to the Dallas alternative entertainment scene, is something I’ve never thought of or participated in before, but that being said on a recent trip home we had to come check it out. I invited my very wary parents. Our party of 6 arrived on Friday when anyone is able to come I and play the games that are sold. There is a real sense of community and fun bonding time that can be felt all over the store. There are plenty of tables and even more games! My bestie decided we should all play trailer park wars together! A real hoot of a game where each person has their own trailer park, various residents and tries to inflict harm on other parks to gain the most pink flamingoes. Seeing my retired parents play this was awesome and having my bestie, boyfriend, and sister there was truly a fun evening for all of us. This is a place for ALL kinds where you can find a game you love to play or happen upon a new game that you’ll have to take home with you. I will be back for sure and I may just drag my folks along too. A fun way to spend time with family or friends that isn’t in front of a teevee or movie screen. Remember how fun conversations and board games were as a kid? You can have it all again here! Bravo Common Ground Games!

Best new game store in Dallas and right next to Zeus Comics. They’ve got open gaming so you can play games and see what you need to buy for home. And lest you think it’s a Magic and Dungeons & Dragons-only sort of place, let me tell you: Jamison and DR(the owners) have unique and fun games for every type of board game fan.
