First time eating here and I have worked in downtown for 3 years.(I don’t get out much) I got the 3 plate taco for 6.75. I tried the brisket and chicken. Added rice, cheese, onions and cilantro. Honestly, I am not sure if you can add as many toppings as you want but I am going to find out on my 2nd visit. The mild sauce is chunky and delicious. They were very friendly, I did not go around lunch rush hour. I went around 1pm

I highly recommend their burritos. I eat here at least once or twice a month, as it’s right around the corner from my office. I especially appreciate the strong veggie selections(zucchini and yellow squash cooked to perfection; a very nice, fresh pico de gallo; etc), which makes me feel slightly less guilty when they smother my meal in delicious queso! The service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are comparable to Chipotle and other similar outfits. My only complaint is that the dining room climate is miserable. Even after two years of operation, they haven’t managed to fix the oppressive humidity created by their steam cookers. As far as I can tell, their only solution is to crank up the AC… so you end up eating in a freezing cold, humid rain forest. (Is it really that hard to install a dehumidifier? Or a better exhaust system?) So, get your burrito to go. Or if the weather’s nice, grab a table outside.

What happens when you’re too lazy to walk all the way to Chipotle from the St Paul train stop? You go to Burrito Jimmy. Why? Because it’s only a 2 minute walk from the rail, they have incredibly fresh ingredients, and their portion sizes are ginormous. The staff at Burrito Jimmy are friendly and I’ve never had a bad experience with them. Even when I ask for extra sauces like nobody’s business, they happily oblige. I really like the variations of faux Tex-Mex you can get from here. I usually opt for the salad and lather that baby up with lots of vegetables, brisket(which is actually very tender and tasty), and mushroom sauce on the side. They’re mushroom sauce totally cancels out that I’m trying to eat a bit healthier but its creamy goodness is too good to resist. For about $ 7.50−8, you get a lot of food. I don’t know how I finish a whole bowl but somehow, my tummy expands. Burrito Jimmy isn’t the place you should default to if you want legitimate Tex-Mex or any variation of Mexican food. This is strictly a vegetables + meat + sauce place. Although I don’t have high expectations for Burrito Jimmy in regards to taste, they are consistent in their delivery so I can’t complain.

Recently started working in downtown Dallas and have the goal of trying a new place every week. This week I made my way over to Burrito Jimmy. As a P1 I’ve heard of this place a few times and once realizing it was within walking distance from my office I figured why not give it a try. My meal was pretty simple; chicken burrito with white rice, black beans, cheese and green salsa. I probably should have paid a little more attention when I asked for the salsa and then I would have noticed that was the spicy salsa. I like spicy and on a scale of 1 to 10 this was probably around a 6. Made me sweat but still pretty good. All and all it was a pretty standard burrito. Staff was friendly and location was clean. I’ll be back.

Not bad. Got a large burrito with brisket for around $ 8. The brisket was awesome. Seasoned well and tender. Not as many topping selections as free it’s but very quick and it was tasty. Friendly staff and convenient for downtown. A coworker of mine goes daily. Most definitely going back

Burrito Jimmy is neither good nor bad. It is neither Mexican nor Tex-Mex food either. I would simply describe it as «food». It fills you up but doesn’t leave you satisfied. The meat and grilled veggies are flavorless and simple. There are plenty of options to put into your burrito(pico, tomato, cilantro, onion, chives, etc.), but even these don’t make up for the lack of flavor in the rest of the food. the only thing I like about this place is the breakfast burritos. You can get it made with Chorizo(gives it flavor) which is not a common option. They are also very quick. You can be in and out within a couple minutes and have a freshly made breakfast. Overall I would not recommend their flavorless lunch(1⁄5), but the breakfast is a reasonable option(4⁄5)

Here’s what I get: a small pork burrito with Spanish rice, pinto beans, grilled onions, grilled peppers, shredded cheese, lettuce, cilantro, pico de gallo, and guacamole. That sets me back less than $ 5 — an exceptional value. I suspect the chicken and steak options aren’t as good as the pork. «Always get the pork.» I have that rule tattooed on my inner thigh.

This was the first place I went on my quest to find decent Tex-Mex downtown. I work across the street and my coworkers raved about this place, so I figured it was a good choice. Now I’m just thinking that the same people who love this place must also love Rosa’s Café and El Fenix. I don’t think I’ve ever had a burrito so bland in my whole life. The freshness of ingredients was the only advantage of the food here compared to a Patio microwave burrito; I actually think a frozen burrito is spicier. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the chicken has literally zero spice or seasoning and seems to be boiled. The staff was big on recommending the queso, so I figured why not — the queso was at least real cheese and not dayglo orange goo, but it just tasted like milk. I asked for extra salsa, and like the chicken and queso it had no real heat or spiciness either. However because so many people love Burrito Jimmy and many of the other similar Mexicanish establishments downtown, maybe there’s something in my business casual clothes that acts as a spiciness deflector.

This place is pretty darn good… way better than chipolte. So first time I went I had a bowl with chicken, rice and beans. then I added all the veggies they even had zucchini and squash! The ingredients taste way better and fresher than chipolte. For breakfast I tried their breakfast tacos which are so good. The large taco is way too big and is $ 4.50 and a small which is $ 2.50 is more like a medium so excellent prices. they feel them up thick too with eggs whatever meat u want and toppings.

2& ½ for customer service 4 for delicious«make it my way» burritos and nachos! In my life there are a few things I don’t tolerate, chief of these few things… rudeness. If you don’t mind attitude and love yummy food this is the place for you. Great for lunch

This place is darn tasty! Burrito Jimmy’s is similar to Chipotle in that you can get burritos, bowls, tacos, salads, and quesadillas and food is tasty. That’s about where the similarities end. Jimmy’s offers breakfast and lunch options(this location serves office buildings downtown so they are open more limited hours) with a variety of choices. Here’s a sampling: — Choice of tortillas — everything from traditional to wheat, flavored, small and large — Two rice options — cilantro rice or Mexican rice — Two bean options — Sauteed veggies — onions, peppers, zucchini, and yellow squash — Meats — shredded beef, pork, fajita chicken, etc. — Cheeses — 3 varieties — Fresh toppings — pico, guac, sour cream, onion, cilantro, etc. — Sauces — too many to list — Salsas — medium and hot Jimmy’s also steams the burrito to melt the cheese which is a nice differentiation and will serve your burrito smothered in sauce or wrapped. Personally, I love their wheat tortilla large burrito or a bowl with cilantro rice, black beans, veggies, pico, medium salsa, and extra cilantro(vegetarian). Salsas are ok — I like Chipotle’s better, but that’s my taste. Bottom line — service is good, lots of variety(including vegan/vegetarian), and it’s convenient if you’re in the area. My only complaint is that the place is so smoky from their cooking of the meats and such I don’t like dining in.

Before you dismiss this place as a bootleg Chipotle wannabe(as i did), do yourself a favor and give Burrito Jimmy a visit. For starters, Jimmy’s differentiates itself from the other burrito joints by a) serving breakfast and b) offering to smother your burrito creation in your choice if sauce. With about 6 – 7 smother sauces to choose from, I played it safe and went with the queso. Not sure what they put in there but it’s super good and immediately triggered my little«this food is so good» chair dance. Aside from burritos, they also offer salads, bowls and nachos(topped with the dance– inducing queso). The only drawback is the seating inside. The tables are bolted to the floor which makes eating with a group pretty impossible. I’ll definitely be back to give the breakfast a try. And of course, the queso.

I’ll start off by saying that I’m a huge Chipotle fan, and I came here expecting this to be a very similar place. I went to this location near Harwood, which is a bit tucked back where it isn’t highly visible. I was very impressed and it definitely exceeded my expectations. They have more than just burrito’s — they have bowls, tacos, nachos, etc. I went with a bowl with cilantro rice, pinto beans, grilled squash, onions and peppers and carnitas. I added pico, more cilantro, cheese, green onions and a bit of queso. They had several options to add to your entrée — more than Chipotle for sure. The options all looked fresh and of good quality. They had these beautiful chopped fresh jalepeno’s that tempted me but I decided to save that for the next time. I think this soundly beat what I get at Chipotle — the grilled squash was cooked just right and had a nice flavor to it, and the carnitas were tender, lean, and a great flavor. I am a huge cilantro fan and I’m so glad to be able to have this as an up front selection for the bowl. I was curious about the sauces they had, since the online menu didn’t say what they were. They had a red or a green salsa, then a mushroom sauce or queso. I went with a little queso and LOVED it. I also tried the limeade tea and liked it quite a bit. So glad to have something this fresh and high quality nearby. The place was very clean(which sadly seems hard to find downtown) and the staff was friendly. Definitely on my lunch rotation now! I can’t believe I’d ever say I found something I like more than Chipotle, but if my first experience holds true, I have.

I came in to this new downtown location today and decided on a shredded pork burrito bowl with cilantro white rice, grilled zucchini and squash, pinto and black beans, a little monterey jack cheese, a little red salsa(mild) and a little queso. The flavors of everything was just excellent. I also got their limeade tea which is pretty good. The guy ordering in front of me got a stuffed big burrito and it’s contents were overflowing as they rolled it up for him. I did notice that they steamed it after adding the meat(before the veggies). Will definitely be back.
