I used to walk to this Bagel place when I worked in the same complex and the bagels, pizza and breakfast was always great. BUTNOW, it feels very unsanitary and is in need of some fixing up. I had a breakfast burrito and it was still good, but I did worry about how fresh the products were. The service was friendly enough, but beware that it’s not a clean establishment.

Tried this place out for the first time today, since it’s right down the street from my work. I had a pleasant experience from the moment I walked in: –I was created by warm/friendly staff — the food was good, fresh & inexpensive — the place was very clean and charming * I recommend this deli and will most definitely be returning

I’m rating it for what it is, a quick breakfast /sandwich shop. If I ever need to get out of the office for a quick bite, this is the place. It is hidden behind some trees, so make sure to know where you are going. The food is good, but the service is what makes it great. The food is always prepared within a few minutes and never loud. Some music playing and people talking but it is a nice place to get away. The people that work here are awesome. The little lady is always friendly and very accommodating. 9 times out of 10 I pay after I’ve eaten, just because she wants you to sit down and relax for lunch. Love it. Try it out and you will leave feeling appreciated.

This place looks like it needs to be closed down for sanitary reasons The food was not all that great and over priced.

I stopped to see a client and ate here. The breakfast burrito was absolutely amazing. Even better the lady who made it was so pleasent and smiley it made the whole stop well worth it. Luv the food and will be back.

I’ve been going here for years… until now. The original guy sold it to some indian dude who made minimal changes(cheaper napkins, etc), but recently it changed hands again to an indian woman. The lighting is about 20% dimmer, coffee is served lukewarm. Dill pickle used to be included; now you have to ask for it; and they are not very good. It’s gone down hill from what it used to be. I’m sorry to say it’s a trend i’ve noticed when the foreigners buy the business. They just cheapen the product to where it’s no longer recognisible as the original.

I’ve been there twice now and the service is always amazing. The bagels are fresh and just like how I remember from living up north. There are lots of options of cream cheese and bagels and lots of delicious sandwiches to choose from. I’m a sucker for a good bagel so I have just stuck to those but everything else looked great.

The SETTING: 12 visits over last few years, always for breakfast The VIBE: 2 Stars — Quiet, no music, never crowded, chairs not so comfortable, no WiFi. I recommend getting items to go here. The SERVICE: 3 Stars — Just not much to say. Server is fairly quiet(might have to do with language barrier), quick, and attentive. Most importantly, he’s never messed up my order. The FOOD: 4 Stars — now, I’m solely basing this on the Early Riser, which is what I always get. The bagels are fresh, taste great, and the overall breakfast sandwich is better than Einstein’s in my opinion. The Bottom Line — great place to grab and go, not so much to sit and eat.

First, Over Priced ! Almost 3 dollars for bagel with butter? $ 1.5 for a small cream cheese(to spread on 1 bagel…)? The size of the bagels are any way smaller then regular(compare to NY bagels or even Tom thumb!) so why being greedy? The bagels are good. They are fresh and made well, same is the egg and cheese I ordered. I was looking for a place on my way just to pick up a bagel, I but they are too expansive. I can have the same bagel from tom thumb for $ 1.25 and and 50 cents for the cream cheese.

The other location of Benny’s over in Lakewood offers up a far more«local bagel shop» feel to it, but this suffies to provide you with a somewhat non-corporate escape, whether for breakfast or lunch, amidst an otherwise extremely superficial and franchised area of the Big D. Like many other eateries in this area, you will need to do a little navigating to get here, as the many complexes and business parks can easily lead you to dispair when trying to discern where to eat amongst the sea of eateries in this area. Bagels here afford you the opportunity to eat something different for lunch than Which Wich or maybe the local bar and grill fare. Specifically, the spicy Jalapeño Cheese guy goes great, whether toasted, smothered in cream cheese, or wrapped around some meat. The texture of the bagels from Benny offer far more chewiness and moistness than your ordinary Einstein’s round guy. Give these a shot if you are shopping til you drop, when you need to fill yourself up with fast-digesting carbohydrates to fuel your Western diet, which subsists on highly processed goods.

This sandwich shop is kind of hidden in a complex of offices. We have driven by it a few times not even thinking about trying it. A few of us went on our lunch break, and I was quite impressed. It’s a tiny sandwich shop that offers sandwiches, soups, salads… and pizza??? That’s an odd combo, but hey, whatever works. I ordered the special which was the #14(turkey wrap) and a cup of potato soup. The soup came out hot and fresh, and it was a potato soup. Nothing really stood out about it, but it could have maybe used a little be more flavor? The wrap was pretty good, and their bagel chips are homemade. They were decent. The prices are cheaper than some of the local sandwich shops, so I will come back.

I am solely basing my review and rating on the chicken salad sandwich I had here. I didn’t care for it at all really. The bread was good but the chicken salad did not have much flavor. I paid over $ 9 for sandwich, chips and a drink and I ended up only eating the bread. It sounds like from others the bagels are worth going for so I would be willing to go back for that.

I just wasnt into it. the bread was good, but the beef on the french dip was a little chewy and not of the best flavor. The au jus was ok. Pizza was the kind that was cooked then reheated in the oven when you order it, not my favorite, Staff is friendy, the place is very cozy inside. Like i said i just wasnt into it. I prefer that place that sounds like bennys across the street.

I love breakfast … But not so much here. The eggs they use are pre-made and just reheated. Their lunch specials are good though!

I’ve been looking for this place forever. J brought me part of a sandwich from there and it was amazing. Roast beef, jalapeño cream cheese, swiss, bell pepper, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, red onion and sprouts served on fresh toasted bread. I wanted a whole one so I started looking for this place online. He kept insisting it was Benny’s Deli & Bakery. Only thing I could find was this Benny’s Bagels. I’ve seen the franchises around town so I KNEW that couldn’t be it. It was. Just to be sure I took a long lunch so I could have him escort me there. It still was. So, I got a whole sandwich, it’s the No. 6 on the menu, but you have to ask for the jalapeño cream cheese. It was so big it took me two meals to finish it off. And it was so amazing. Benny’s is a deli with a bakery making their fresh sandwich breads. Which are delish. They have a pretty big menu and a nice lunch rush so you might want to look over the menu at their website first. They also have amazing brownies and a decent apple turnover. Decent meaning you can’t go wrong with puff pastry and canned apple pie filling. Prices are good, especially for the amount of food you are getting. I didn’t even get chips. I didn’t need them. They have a good menu. I’m not sure if this is a chain of some type – probably, but it’s cute, tasty and the folks who own/run it are super nice. Check it out if you’re on Midway. It’s sort of hid in strip center with an industrial flavor. And yes, they do have bagels.

I grew up eating bagels from Queens NY thanks to family that we visited there often. Since moving to Texas I have sorely missed a decent bagel. I have sadly had to live with bagels from places like Panera Bread and Tom Thumb, which basically tasted like round bread. When I had to buy bagels for a work meeting I almost went to a chain then I decided to search google maps and found Benny’s Bagels which is at Midway and Alpha and is definitely not closed. I walked in and the place smelled great! I could see the bagels in the baskets and they were obviously the closest to «real» bagels I had seen since moving to Texas. I’m not going to go so far as to say these are like NY bagels, but they are far and away the best I’ve had since moving to Dallas. They taste more like the bagels my family ships me from NY than they do like the other bagels locally. I also received great service as the gentleman asked if I’d like the bagels sliced, which I very much appreciated. I highly recommend stopping by Benny’s if you are in the mood for a great bagel. I look forward to going again and trying a bagel sandwich!

Unilocal asked me to freshed my review, so I will. I continue to not go to Benny’s Bagels. The last good experience I had there was around 1997. I’m going to leave it that way.

The best bagels! So fresh. And they offer soups, salads, and sandwiches as well. The staff is always friendly when I come in freshly rolled out of bed on weekend mornings. Dine in, dine at the outside tables, or get your munchies to go. Check this place out for a quick breakfast or lunch. P. S. All of their cream cheese is LITE Update: This location has closed: P I am now going to Cindi’s for my bagels and I am very pleased!
